Being for the prohibition of drugs is not only narrow minded but also very deadly and dangerous. Every day hundreds of people die (probably even more) because instead of providing clean and regulated drugs to the people we let cold blooded criminals be the supplier. A human being likes drugs. Unless a miracle happens this won't change. Even now our leaders are openly consuming drugs like alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. Our greatest minds have used drugs. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who has NOT ever tried any drug.
Now that there is a steady demand some not so nice people decided to provide the supply because no one else contests this market. Criminals have a monopoly on the drug trade and are therefor able to extort abnormal prices and finance themselves to tyrannize upstanding citizens. And don't forget all the money that is lost because of organized criminality and our pathetic attempt to fight it.
And this is all not even considering the fact that no government that respects its citizen should arbitrary decide what they can consume or not.
People are murdered and tortured and children are send into gang wars because of some moralfags who left their logical reasoning behind and decided to be massive assholes.

Do you know what happens when children are told lies by propaganda programs like DARE and then someday accidentally or willingly decide to see for themselves? They loose all trust in their parents, teachers and the state and become incredibly more susceptible to the inherent dangers of drug use like addition or overdose because who will tell them about proper harm reduction strategies?
If this fear mongering manages to scare off 4 of 5 children from drugs forever but 1 has their life ruined because of it then it was not worth it!
If politicians would truly care for their citizens and the children they would encourage harm prevention and safer use programs so everyone can make an informed decision. Instead of putting addicts into prison they should get proper treatment.
But apparently this is too complicated for some people. Instead of making the effort to think about sensible solutions we'd rather fund criminals and endanger our children so we can stay morally superior to those "junkies" and "hippies".
