I'm surprised that not a lot of robots/shut-ins play an instrument as a hobby. with so much free time you could actually become decent in no time if you play like 10 hours a day. I started with a guitar a few years ago and now i have 8 instruments in my room and I've become at least decent with all of them since i have so much free time, i mean sure as hell beats sitting on the computer 16 hours a day, there's also plenty of instruments to choose for us robots instead of the normie guitar/bass/drums/piano, chinese instruments are cheap and sound beautiful.

Why aren't you playing an instrument my fellow robots? and if you do, what do you play?

I used to play piano okay, but the keyboard I used broke (it was pretty old, so I wasn't too surprised).
I play guitar now, but I'm not very good.
Pic related is my guitar and panpipes.

I tried but to no ones surprise I found out I have no willpower or motivation to grind practicing.

>putting stickers on an instrument
why do people do this?

>buy instrument
>spend a few hours practising
>not good at it yet
>give up

It's a cheap guitar, so I'm not worried about messing up the wood and I had nowhere else to put the stickers.

You're not only not cute but also retarded
Fix that fucking tail

i'm interested in getting a pan flute, the sound they make is really unique and nice. I have a dizi and a recorder, the dizi is harder to play but sounds really nice while the recorder sounds really bad but it's pretty fun to just lay down and play along any song.

Is the panflute hard to play? is it like a dizi/concert flute where you have to really control your airflow or can you just blow on it like a recorder?

Wtf is a guitar tail?

Another view with xtra foot

i love these instruments, i used to have a psaltery as a child but it was always missing like half the strings.

this is my goal instrument but the damn thing cost like $900 because of the shipping

>play the Viola
>but shit at music theory so need to pass that before I can get to higher grade exams even tho I can play the music
>any other Viola pals out there?

you'd be surprised how quick, easy and cheap it is to repair something like that, specially if it's a generic beginner guitar, take it to any music store with a workshop and they'll fix it for like 20 bucks, and the strings are like 8 bucks

but desu i'd just buy a starter yamaha/fender for like $80

String pal here, not viola tho, i play the erhu but i'm still pretty much a beginner. Always wanted a cello but the damn things too fucking big, the erhu to me sounded like combination of a viola and a cello so i got one.

I'm having some problems with the bow tho, losing hairs, i lost 3 so far and i'm worried because it could be tons of things, bow mites, my technique, or just a shit bow

I get anxious that my neighbors can hear me. I couldn't practice an instrument.
Also I don't want to take the time to practice.

got a hand me down fender precision bass and fender stratocaster. Too bad I'm naturally shit and have no patience with myself

I'm a volunteer organist for a small liberal church, I sing in a few choirs, I played tenor saxophone and euphonium in my high school concert band. I have a trombone and an Alto recorder which I actually need to learn.

I've been learning jazz piano on my own recently which has been okay

For the anons that say that they have no patience, i encourage you to get an ukulele, they're cheap on amazon and also a great introduction to music, they're so easy to play but like any instrument hard to master. It's also so much easier to play guitar if you ease your way into it by learning the uke first.

Plus it's the GOAT instrument to play while watching anime or just chilling on your bed

Yeah but then you'd be a massive talentless faggot who can't make nice sounds.

fingerstylin' on the tenor uke with a low g string is sexy as fuck u wot mate

Im not getting good at it nor can I play my anime songs so I don't care anymore

>sexy
There's nothing sexy about being a manchild who plays a toy because he doesn't have the skill or patience to learn an instrument with even a modicum of tonal variety.

I wanted to learn violin but they go out of tune really easily, I can't tune by ear, and can't afford an electronic tuner right now.

I play an acoustic guitar and the recorder, i'm big into acoustic drone though but I just can't afford to get any real instruments yet.
I want to get an accordion, harp, pump organ and violin but too out of reach atm.

You can download tuners on smart phones, hell you could probably find a program for your PC that has a tuners on it

tuning apps

look up pitchperfect, PC tuner for pretty much any instrument / frequency
