former drawfag here. got some tips for you fools.
1. get an actual pencil set with pencils of varying thickness
2. paper stump, tortillon
3. lightbox
those 3 things are why your shading looks like line art and scribbles and crap.
when you fill in something to shade it, you don't draw 1 million line scribbles, you turn your pencil at an angle and use the broad side of it, kinda hard to do if you use standard sharp point.
