Social media is for people who think they're so important, they need to announce every aspect of their lives on the Internet. They feel the need to post their name out constantly and crave validation with every post they make.
It is peer pressure blown up into the form of websites, yet another thing that robots should be judged for for not joining in. Social media is addictive to normandos not only because it allows people to talk to each other 24/7, but because it allows you to see how well-liked you are among the people you surround yourself with. Your family. Your peers. Your colleagues.
You are constantly being pitted against everyone in a social media site and judged for your interests.
It's not always about having a photo of yourself out there. It's about being judged for existing.
