I download one flac album a day, been doing so since several years. My folder is now over 1 TB.

The contrasting attitudes in OP's pic related is why (or at least suggestive of the fact that) the countries that the pirate Chads are from are shitholes. When you have a society where people don't trust each other or the legal system enough to organize complicated contracts and secure property rights, and everyone has a grinning thief mindset, it tends to be hard to get stuff done. In contrast, countries like e.g. the Anglo-Saxon ones where there's a sense of fair play and people don't mind following and trusting in the law tend to be more functional.

That is to say, the fact that Americans buy games instead of pirating them and care about what goes on in the gaming industry shows why America isn't a shithole country. If every country had the CHAD pirating mindset, there wouldn't be any video games to pirate.

A lot of my friends I grew up with now buy games. I don't understand why. They were all about piracy growing up but have this strange moral thing about not doing it anymore. It's like having it on their Steam Library is a badge of honour, or something. It's not like these guys have huge investment portfolios or anything worthwhile. They're basically just pissing away their money as if it were a drug they need to buy. The thing is you can't download drugs. Otherwise I would.
