dogs are stupid, they will do dumb shit like this. the trade off is that they will love you unconditionally. its a shame that this happened, but you gotta ask yrself if this event is worth ending a potentially good relationship with this girl over. plus you could get a new hermit crab, or maybe even a family of them. i used to have hermit crabs myself, i dont think they live very long compared to other pets anyways. If u want another low maintenance cute pet in an aquarium that will live longer, consider leopard gecko, bearded dragon, or a cornsnake
Hermit crabs are social animals and a few friends would've really helped him live a fulfilling life. As for your gf (REEEEEEEEEE), idk, man. The mature thing would be to let it go and let her know you let it go as neither she nor the dog meant any harm, and you're not completely blameless either for leaving them alone together.
If this is fake or you want to be an asshole, you could use this as leverage in getting her to do a number of depraved sexual acts.
