You think I'll ever be able to get a car like this? I've always wanted to make my own replica not just buy it off of someone. I'm an 18yo polishfag I'm afraid I'll never have the money to achieve my car dreams.. It's not the most expensive thing it's a 98 eclipse after all but I don't really know how hard is it to make money.
So how hard is it? Any good experience from you guys? Or only wagecucks here?
Thinking of selling my two Camaro's off what should I get boys (I also have a 2007 ford escape I use for winter so I don't need to worry about the car i buy being winter safe)
Caleb Hill
Couple of ill fitting skirts and a Folgers can muffler only be a few hundred
Jonathan Harris
Yea but I'd like to re-do the whole interior too possibly swap the engine since every eclipse here is a fucking wreck, i'd only use it as a base
Jordan James
Didnt paulwalker have to use two big nos cans just to keep up. That car looks like a 1800cc fwd. It wont be fast and using nos your car wont last long.
Aiden Edwards
you should work to support yourself and investments, and when your investments make enough to live off of stop working I live like a NEET and a little money can go a long way so I'm set for the rest of my life If I decide I want a mansion with a family I'll go back to work but I'm cool with drinking, watching porn, and playing video games all day
I would find the best way to make money now. It only took a 20k investment in 2015 to make enough to live off of the rest of my life
Gabriel Myers
What engine you gonna swap all the cool motors from back then are like 20yrs old now.
Cameron Jackson
Why the fuck are you asking such a dumb question? Stop talking like were youre best friends
Jordan Reed
Man I don't know why but I really want a foxbody.
Josiah Brown
Eclipses are shit cars so you'll be spending as much on cosmetic shit and that fuck huge wing as you will the base car.
You're probably looking at a 10k-15k car depending on how seriously you want to fuck with the engine itself.
I've always thought the eclipse was the worst looking car in f&f 1 I drive a black 1997 civic type r I've been considering making it look like the 4 used to rob trucks in f&f 1 but the insurance would be so high
Gavin Murphy
Fucking ricer sum!
Brayden Sanders
>it's how good cars looked in late 90s Riced shit never looked good
>lol apex seals >engine rebuild every 70k miles >uses oil almost as quick as gasoline >cold start issues >hot start issues >flooded engines >pre mix gas >redline it 20 times a day or will explode >it might also explode redlining it
If you're getting a 1st Gen Eclipse, get an Eclipse GSX. It has the same chassis as the Evo III.
Evan Howard
The Eagle Talon based Eclipse is good. Any Eclipse after the 90s are based off the Dodge Neon and should be fucking crushed.
Jason Butler
I own a 1985 300zx (2+2 with digital package). They're great cars and can be found cheap, but don't expect to really be able to drift it stock. They have an open diff, which sucks ass.
Brody Taylor
Money is hard unless you have a desirable skill or find a unusual job or milk overtime.
Things come up all the time that make it hard to save, and I think currently it's rated at 70k/yr to live "comfy".
Saying that, you can rent a room, eat cheap, and so on... make 35k/yr while you put all your money into a car. You can also finance things, which is very dumb in most situations.
Mods get expensive if it involved paint. You can paint your lip kit yourself though, but it won't match well. Wheels and tires cost a lot too. All of these are worth pennies on the dollar. It's better to buy a car with mods done and do a few more.
Finally, a new corolla will SMOKE and eclipse. New suvs will too. And everyone will try to race you to show you up.
If it's a hobby, I'd go after it. In car clubs you make friends and they all know how to work on them, have used parts for sale or know someone that's a good painter that'll charge you less than a shop. Don't give up on a hobby
There may be some issues with the rotary engine, but they can crank out some serious power while being smaller than conventional piston engines. They are meant to be driven at high RPMs, and the car is very lightweight and nimble. You have to drive them almost every day or you will lock up the engine by letting the oil cool and the liquidized carbon will harden. You have to know how they work before owning them or it will be a nightmare because you didn't know WTF you were doing.
Jeremiah Rodriguez
Don't get an RX-8. Go with the RX-7. It has more power and is more reliable than the RX-8. Also, the RX-7 is very light and has an amazing chassis.
Austin Diaz
>wanting a Pontiac Fiero Kek I'd take the Miata. Very lightweight, and can drift with stock setup.
I've found people here selling them for $500. They were the better models, too (FC model - more reliable). However, the prob needed an engine rebuild. There are a hell of a lot less parts in a rotary engine, but parts are more expensive.
Brayden Nelson
I live in a small Euro country so that car would be super race.
Landon Cook
Just invest in Bitcoin, m8.
Oliver Gonzalez
It would be super rare.
Carter Price
Go for an 80's Nissan. A lot of things on their cars are interchangeable. I own an '85 300zx and got it for $500. I had to change the fuel pump to get it running though.
3k Civic... I can smoke the fuck out of everyone in my 1994 EG hatch and I only have a couple of simple mods:
- 10 point cage with Parachute - 3 piece discontinued JoJo frontend - spec-R full drag suspension - Fuel cell with -8 lines from tank to motor - 1 044 bosch pump - 1200 rc injectors - golden eagle sleeved block - cp 10:1 pistons - Eagle rods - arp headstuds - oem h22 headgasket - Balance shaft delete - competition clutch twin disc - Port and polished head - skunk2 valve springs and retainers - Str cam gears - crower stage 1 cams - aluminium radiator with slim fan - gsr transmission with itr lsd. - qsd h2k intake manifold adapter - k20 rbc manifold - qsd throttle body spacer - blox 70mm throttle body - 4bar omni map sensor - 6al msd with coil and cap. 3 step launch control - hks bov - Garret 102mm turbocharger. - Custom t4 front facing turbo manifold with 44mm flange - 44mm tial wastegate - Custom water to air intercooler set up - aem eugo wideband w/ gauge - tuned on chipped p28 - 13 inch volks drag rims - 2 15 inch volks rear rims - arp extended wheel studs - si cluster - 150 shots of nitrous im making 348 horsepower to the FRONT WHEELS because thats the only place the power should ever be
Gabriel Diaz
In universe it was an Eclipse GSX which has a 2L turbo. In reality the car they used for filming was a tarted-up RS complete with fake brake rotors in the rear. None of the shit in the movie is even remotely grounded in reality and that's most of the fun. You don't build several $100k+ cars by selling stolen electronics. Nitrous doesn't work even a little bit like they show it to, either. It take a shitload of prep work just to get the system ready and even then it's only supposed to give you an edge, not rocket you to the moon. If you dump two 100 shots of nitrous into even a built 4G63 it'll grenade way before your ancient laptop can tell you how bad your intake manifold has it
Joshua Long
I think you went too far in the FWD fandom.
Ryan Reyes
>Originally being this new Fuck you, robot.
Henry Carter
Hmm... nah. I'm not homosexual. However, I gotta give you props for not just putting a cold air intake in your Honda Civic and saying that you have a shitload of power. You have a respectable build. I was just saying that you seem to be a little too zealous about FWD.
Liam Sanchez
It's an /o/ pasta from like 5 years ago you stupid fuck.
Joshua Davis
Oh shit. I actually didn't know /o/ existed until a couple months ago actually.
