Smoky Tent from indoor fire, had to rip off tent. Split up for firewood, hypothermia. The radioactivity was from the work the 2 people contaminated were. (I forgot where I read this but they seemed to work at the factory)
Broken bones may be from avalanche (still convinced on a missile cover up but meh. Have no proof)

first you ignore the pollution, safety, literally everything except money, just try to farm as much money early game, ignoring the city's looks or aesthetics (the same what they did in commie towns), then, when you acquire enough moeny so you don't have to care about earning to the end of the game, start tackling issues one by one (the ones i mentioned before)
