It's been a while since I watched it, but it's a cozy colorful distraction. The music is cheery the characters are fun and there's really no throughline to keep up with. You just watch what is essentially an autistic adult (tohru) figure out life with other humans.

Poppy seed tea is not very good. If you're going to do opiates you might as well buy oxy. It costs less than poppy seeds and you know what kind of dose you're taking. Overdosing on poppy seed tea is a very real possibility for someone who doesn't have opiate tolerance.
My suggestion is to not start opiates period.

If your goal is just to get drunk, have you tried shoving alcohol up your ass yet? The rectal veins have access to several portosystemic anastamoses. What this means is that a few of these veins bypass the liver and go to the brain without being processed, making you really fucking drunk really fast with very small amounts of alcohol. If you tried it with vodka it would probably fucking kill you, but with cheap beer you can drunk fast.
Furthermore with vodka if you put it into a 2L plastic bottle and suck out all the air, then re-pressurize the bottle quickly the liquid will become a white-ish gas. If you huff it, it goes directly into the pulmonary veins which also don't get filtered by the liver before going to the brain.
If you're feeling reckless and don't like the flavor/cost, this might "get the job done" a little faster.

That's the smart thing to do, but you know how it goes once you start any kind of drug. Mind alteration becomes the goal after a while. I lived in Denver for a while so weed was my go to but it really doesn't do anything for me anymore unless I get at least 200mg of dissolvable in one sitting, and that's almost $80 a hit.

Of course it does. You're doing a morphine extraction using raw, unwashed seeds. It drives your tolerance up like crazy though, so it's not something you can do often even if you wanted. You WILL eventually reach the point where you cannot consume enough to get high.

That's kind of what I figured user. I'll keep this in mind for when I eventually an hero. I think OD would be a good way to go. You die feeling great, your family thinks it's an accident, and they don't have to clean up mushed brains from a shotgun blast or find your body hanging from a ceiling.
