i have crippling schizophrenia
i lose anywhere from roughly 30 minute to hours of sleep to it every
ASMR, and chewing up a stress relief teabag whole are the only two things that actively help with it
the ASMR helps, best that I can tell, by calming me because I have to focus on it to hear it, and because of getting personal attention that i didn't get as a child
i'm almost 100% sure the tea/eating teabags is just a placebo
i sometimes do listen to sexual things, but it's almost exclusively nature sounds and roleplays
not all ASMR is porn
it has taken me literally years to be able to listen to English people doing ASMR because I am just so repulsed by humans, being the most familiar with those ones, and Japanese ASMR and such to me is in this sort of "divine" or at least more "ideal" place
that's my bullshit way of saying, "i can't understand them, and that i want someone to protect me"

I have an app on my phone that plays the sound of the rain when I fall asleep. You can set the volume, strength of rain, what it falls on (water, leaves, roof), and incidental sounds (waves, wind, thunder, etc.). I sleep like a fucking ROCK now.

I used to live in a room that had the downspout right by the window and after 20 years of listening to heavy rain go down it, it totally wired my brain to find that comforting/sleep-inducing. This should hopefully replicate it to some degree (it doesn't rain where I live now it seems).

I had the same fucking problem! I had an aprtment that faced a greenspace with a creek. Listening to the burbling water and the tap tap of the rain on the leaves became the biggest 'sleep' trigger for me. Now I replicate that and sleep so much sounder.

I listen to different types of ASMR.

One of the very first asmr videos I watched was this hairy overweight white dude doing a face painting role play. But I listen to male and female asmr, also nonspeaking asmr as well.

Same poster again, I'm heavily into meditation and look kinda similar to Jesus. I've been thinking about making some guided meditation videoes, and I might check out the ASMR scene, and maybe add some ASMR flavor to the videos. Does this sound like a good idea?
