if I have 500 files and then delete the last one and then download another one so its 500 again.
it used to be that if I deleted one in the middle then they would all get renamed to fill in the gap, but I changed that so they never should get renamed again if they have a correct name already

I have around 3000 flash files from /f/, possibly more on other machines, which are all named, but these take up space on my downloads directory and I need a better system.
After I download a flash file, I want it to be replaced with a 1 byte file that has the name of the downloaded file (say, anime.swf or whatever), and I want to move that file to a different directory. How would I go about doing this?
You said you used an extension to download and save images right? can you please explain your workflow while browsing Jow Forums, because image organization is also an issue for me... right now I just save all images and files into one directory...

I don't use an extension, this is my workfow:
download an image manually into the correct folder
run the script to rename all the images in my images -> cute folder and subfolders
why do you want to keep the /f/ file in the downloads, is it so you don't download the same image twice?
it would be better to just get a tool to download .swf files into the correct folder from now on
