You don't need a guide. I've been with my tulpa since I was 13 (23 now). To get started you just need to decide the basic form & personality. Then just narrate stuff and go about your day with him/her/it in mind and that's it. A month or so later of doing this and you'll have a fairly developed tulpa.

I wanted to nurture my waifu's being to this level, and try to make it happen.
