Women live longer so there are more older and alive women. But just because there's like 2-3 grannies alive for every grandpa doesn't mean they're relationship material.

Most of those women are over the age of 50 because men die off later on. If you look at the same ratios but of people aged 0 to 30 you'll see there are more men across the board. This is because men are slightly more favored when it comes to being born while women are more favored when it comes to getting old. You also have to take into account all of the older women who didn't have to die for their country during wars.

If you're a young man and want a young girlfriend then you're actually disfavored and will have to compete.

This one percent difference is more than offset by the world's two largest populations, Changs and Pajeets, being male majority. The rest of the world has more females.

This says there are more men from 0 to 39 in the US and I've seen the same from other sources as well and have read up explanations of this, like male fetuses are slightly more likely to survive the womb. I have no reason to believe I'm not telling the truth. This is a 2017 census btw, no idea what yours is or where it's from.

Note that a 1.05 ratio is huge when we're talking a population so large. There several million more young men than young women in the US.
