Dark soul

Sometimes I wish I could life in the world of darksouls.
Helping out others to overcome big struggles.
And watch normies trying to keep they're humanity.
Having a comfy time sitting next to the warming bonfire.
I couldn't imagine a better place.

the dark souls universe is a fucking hellscape why would you want to live there

imagine the smell

>getting invaded by chad twinks all the time
great fun

you really want to die 350 times a day?

Go to kazachstan then

because he thinks he'd be the hero instead of some random zombie

This seriously.
>Going for a walk in the Undead Burg.
"You know, this place isn't too bad. I could get used to--
>*Get run through by a pack of Hollow Soldiers*
>*YOU DIED*
Except, if you lived there you'd just flat out die-- no respawning.

The whole thing is just an allegory for depression. So congratulations, you got yourself hollowed! What's the next step in your accursed plan?

tfw I've been playing Dark Souls for the past week (for the first time, just got past bell 1)

oh boy you're in for a ride, good luck
I wish I could erase all my darksouls memories and start again

>implying you would be the chosen undead and not some literal who hollow that goes insane

The boss in the depths is btfo'ing me right now :(

hes not too bad
just stay away until hes on all 4s then attack his back legs
hes tedious but pretty easy

fantasy realms are always the comfiest

He's not hard to fight, but he's got a shitload of HP, and i'm only doing about 150 damage to his armor per (heavy) hit (using balder sword +5)

yeah it just takes time you can summon solaire if you wanna make it go faster

>not realising the chosen undead is a designed impetus to fulfil the goals of the powers that be and the eventual success of the "chosen" is just through sheer stoicism in the face of the harsh reality, the entire point is that you ARE a literal who.

>thinking you have the strength and willpower to become the chosen undead instead of just giving up and rotting away

>implying gwynevere doesn't give you at least two reasons to suffer on

>implying men can touch these

Dark souls is unironically trash

When has a waifu being illusory/2d/imaginary ever stopped people? Follow your dick chosen undead. they're not mutually exclusive user

>if you lived there you'd just flat out die-- no respawning
But that's wrong. People branded with the Darksign are brought back to life by the First Fire. The only way for the brand to be broken is for the First Fire to die; that's why Vendrick didn't go through with usurping the Fire in DSII.
Read some item descriptions and dialogue breh.

>be plot-important NPC
>hang out with the cursed undead
>(almost) never get killed
Feels good.

Different story if you're not branded though.

But literally any undead can be the chosen. Just learn how to dodge stuff, and shoot magic (without going insane). You have an infinite amount of tries if you're undead and a sufficient willpower.

But then you'd have to sit in the same spot forever

Everyone is branded. Theoretically every npc respawns as a random zombie

I always assumed not everyone had the darksign, but the games took place in places that were the epicenter of it, or important in some way. There are plenty of characters from other countries (like Catarina or Carim) that don't return as hollows upon death, they simply die, never to return.
Like at the beginning of the game it says people with the darksign were rounded up and sent away. Normal people didn't want these dudes around.

Dark souls is hell. You keep descending further into hell and darkness. It's like Dante's divine comedy. You are a retard if you think any of it is going to any fun.

Lordran is the best world possible

>real life basilisks
no no no no no no no no no no no no

Sitting by the bonfire in firelink shrine while looking at the moss covered ruins, thinking about the past does sound comfy in a sort of depressing way.

>str, dex, and pyromancy
The pyromancy is a good peripheral for support but I'd stick with focusing on your combat skills, or you'll spread your skills out too much and not be good at anything

>quality build

If you're going for a quality 40/40 build, I'd recommend getting 27 STR (that way if you two-hand your weapon, you'll have effectively 40 STR, the hardcap for weapon stat scaling) and get 40 END for the hardcap of stamina. Higher VIT doesn't hurt, especially if you're new to the game and get hit a lot.

if robots die they'll just respawn at the last used monitor

>dex
yeah I fucked up at the start, didn't realise cost would be cumulative, and threw dex up to 20 right away..
Been working mostly on strength (to wield shit) and endurance (to wear shit) since..
Do I want to put stuff into intelligence or would physical be better in the long run?

just played this while it's raining and storming outside. So comfy.

Don't bother with intelligence at all. It'll make you a lot weaker later on since you will have a lower combat potential and hardly any spell potential.
Do what he said Also I wouldn't focus on armor too much. Learn how to dodge and/or parry instead, it'll be much better in the long run. If you're not parrying, don't use a shield.

same
i want a dark souls gf
get gud and kill them
there powerful but they usually suck

Intelligence is not your priority if you're playing a fighter with pyromancy. I'd focus on your combat skills first (STR, END, VIT). I don't believe Intelligence will do anything at all for you if you are not using sorceries.

>especially if you're new to the game
I am
>and get hit a lot.
I was at the start.. Getting better at my timing and strategy now. Took me a while to realise the stamina refresh rates & shields, but after I realised that, I've been doing quite well.. Playing Tekken 3 years ago helped out.

>I don't believe Intelligence will do anything at all for you
Pyromancy flame (the weapon) has intelligence boost

Whether or not that is true, the pyromancy flame does not scale with Intelligence. In DS1, pyromancy is base damage only with 0 scaling outside of the flame's upgrades.
darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Pyromancy Flame

On paper, yes. However, with pyro all that truly matters us upgrading the flame. The cost becomes absolutely exorbitant later because it is essentially an alternative to levelling. This is distinct from any other weapon or catalyst.

Ok thx. I'll try to stick to Endurance & Strength for now.
My healthbar 'feels' pretty long for now, but I'll definitely be upping it later as well..

Were I you, I would try a bit of absolutely everything on my first playthrough. Quality, pyro, a small amount of healing and generic soul arrows...

Gaping dragon down...
That felt bretty gud.

Good job. Now get ready because the real game starts now: Blighttown.

dont forget to upgrade your weapon

Now are you ready to die?
