What books have you been reading?
Taking care of your mind is as important as staying Jow Forums.
Ive been reading Sparta by AHM Jones.
I find Sparta's government structure interesting
>2 kings
>Ephors (could punish the kings and did)
>Elder council
>Popular council

I know people here read books. Surely you've read something worth mentioning
Just finished reading kafka on the shore. It sucked.
Just started Confederacy of Dunces, just read American Psycho.
American Psycho was good but repititive, and CoD is pretty funny.
>kafka on the shore
>American Psycho
Pewdiepie read these recently I think. Did he give either of you the idea to read these?
meant to click this post
No I don't follow his activities the slightest.
No, I learned American Psycho was a book before a movie, and thought it would be an interesting read.
Ok not trying to offend either of you just curious. People on other boards have read some books because of that (I personally have not).
Which version of American psycho is better?
Last book I read was "The Brain That Changes Itself: Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science"
Have a lot of abuse in my childhood and looking for hope.
Havent watched the movie, except in scenes.
The book is based more on the psyche of Bateman though. More about how he thinks about other people, and more unreliable narration. I imagine the movie is better at getting the authors point across in a more succint manner.
Guess it depends on how much time you have.
Just looked it up. Sounds like it could be an interesting book.
Has it helped you at all?
im some what reading the zombie survivor guide kind of stopped. i watched world war z not knowing it was a book.
im not much of a book reader.
I haven't seen the movie before. Was curious because if one is better than the other, Id stick with the better one when I get around to reading/watching it
I read the zombie survival guide several years ago. Reread the weapons section dozens of times. Got me through middle school read time.
World War Z book I never finished. One of the last stories I read in it was some indian dude blowing up a bridge
>Has it helped
To an extend. My mother starved me when I was a less than 6 years old. This caused my brain to be wired up in a way where I binge eat. I further lucked out by being sexually abused by an adult neighbor and an older boy. They didn't have anything to do with each other, guess I was just a really sexy boy.
My father murdered the adult male. He never knew about the boy.
I'm at peace with the sexual abuse but the starvation did physical damage.
I got gastric bypass surgery a few months ago and that is working, but I need to be very careful not to fuck it up because it can be fucked up.
If you are fine with a lot of repetition, read the book. If you are in a rush, watch the movie.
Both are above average.
Sorry to hear that user. Pedos are freaks, and parents who would let their kids starve, I dont understand how one could do that to their own kid
Sounds like your dad cared though.
Alright thanks. I can handle repetition, but I haven't seen a decent movie for awhile.

This, and most of the Ender's Game series.
Try this book
Havent read ender's game before. Ive read Armor, which IIRC ender's game author kept from winning an award by claiming it was a rip off of starship troopers (its not). Good scifi
Hannibal was a great general, though I find it interesting that Machiavelli praises him while criticizing Scipio, when Scipio beat him
Yes, Scipio and Fabius were amazing
Almost finished with Crime and Punishment. Plan on starting Notes from Underground after.
