I eat (and drink) incredibly well for 150 a month. I'm an ok cook though, so I never buy takeaways, or expensive ready meals (which I find taste horribly salty anyway)

I eat mostly fish, steak, avocados, olive oil, grass fed butter and fresh veggies and it costs me a fucking fortune.

I suppose if you're massively into working out you can get a lot of calories from cheap stuff like oats, cheap chicken breast, etc. But I eat for mental clarity and mood so it's important for me to get most of my calories from good quality fats, which cost a fortune.
