"do what you love for a living, goy!"

>"do what you love for a living, goy!"
Who else hates this fucking meme? I enjoy programming but I fucking hate working as a software developer or having my livelihood depend on my programming at all. All I've ever wanted is some brainlet job that compartmentalizes itself from everything I actually enjoy in life.

That's the curse of capitalism, but I'm not sure you agree. Either way, I feel you OP.

Yeah, late stage capitalism requires people to fuse their personal lives with their professional lives. They want people their worklife to become their personal life.

Funny how Zcucks make fun of "dad rape" when they worship faggots like Lil' Pump.

Seriously I hate nigger music, but Lil Pump makes Tupac look like Mozart. This is the only time I am proud of being a millenial

i don't enjoy anything profitavle and never will. i play video games and watch anime but that doesn't mean I can become a famous celebrity youtuber.

Damn boi, you're missing out

Get some easy warehouse or manufacturing job. Once you do it for a while, you can pretty much operate in autopilot. Low stress too.

stupid
fucking
communists

if you do what you enjoy for work, you'll start hating it pretty soon.
I enjoy working on cars and shit, but I'm not gonna become a mechanic. fuck that. I want to work on my cars, not someone elses. I'll get a braindead job that doesn't require me to think about stuff to pay the bills.

anyone else have a STEM degree but want or actually work in something that doesnt require it? im working in a restaurant and its comfy

>it's not real capitalism

I want a warehouse job but I was under the impression most of that shit was automated and/or basically doesn't exist in the first world at non poverty-tier pay.

>working is capitalist
you people are literally so stupid you can't be reasoned with. You think capitalism invented jobs and that before hand no body emptied latrines or dug ditches or shoveled shit for a living.

Are you me?
Seriously I hate people who ask why i'm not a mechanic.

Like I said, you're too stupid to be reasoned with

>implying I said working in itself is capitalist
capitalism is when one class owns the means of production which other people then work on. socialism is when those means of production are owned publicly and you get as much as you contribute.

>braindead job
No real money to be made there. At least you save a lot working on your own ride.

I don't need a lot of money. all I spend it on is food, bills, the occasional game and my car/bike

>capitalism is when one class owns the means of production which other people then work on
but that's wrong, retard. That perfectly describes Feudalism too, but feudalism was not capitalism. In fact by your very definition Feudalism was more capitalistic because you had an ACTUAL class of people who were only allowed to own these things, who had different laws and different rules for them, unlike today where all the means of production are owned my civilians, the exact same "class" as you, with the amount of success being the divider.

>>claiming rock music is a mix of African musical traditions and European instrumentation is leftist revisionist history
it literally is

playing a drum is hardly an african tradition.

I hear that. I have respect for people who do their own car work, very masculine and cool. Good luck, dont lose your zest for automobiles.

Explain what it is, then, if not a result of the mixing of black and white cultures?

>socialism is when those means of production are owned publicly and you get as much as you contribute.
>you get as much as you contribute.

You don't get as much as you contribute under socialism. "from each according to ability, too each according to need"

just natural development of european music.

That's communism, you fucking idiot. I suggest you google "to each according to his contribution" (a famous socialist phrase) before you embarrass yourself on another occasion.

>want to go on adventures, picking huckleberries discovering the cure for cancer and meeting interesting people

Are all socialists actually retarded?

This thread is nice. I consider myself a slight autist I did warehouse work for a while with a company that has a reputation for ruining peoples fucking backs and shit. Gotta always think about your body too. Not only the physicality of it but it was so isolating the factory noises were disorienting constant forced overtime.

Oh, so "to each according to his contribution" ISN'T a basic tenet of socialism? Damn

It's just a genre of music that developed. Niggers didn't invent percussion instruments and dancing around a bonfire chanting ooga booga didn't spawn rock music

>low status male

He's well in life, has a house with two floors and family

>edge lord on the internet
>not actively organizing and doxxing nazis
well I guess that is still me being an edgelord on the internet but at least I make life hard for nazis like you ;)

When you insisted that it is not a socialist phrase.

It's not even the link I posted ffs, why are you posting a screenshot from the article that obviously says "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" when I posted an article that said "to each according to his contribution"? Makes you seem desperate.

It isn't, it's a commie one. Says so right in the pic you posted.

I'm a freak for cars but realized being a car mechanic is much less profitable than being an airplane mechanic because it's easier and more common, so I applied myself and became an airplane mechanic. I make magnitudes more than your stepfather and get the same, if not more enjoyment than I would from working on cars because technical tasks and mechanics stimulate my brain in a way I like

You find the type of skill you enjoy and then you find the most prestige path that uses that skill, you don't need to get autistic tunnel vision and find a job doing that EXACT task you like

I'm making $20/hr working in a warehouse shredding paper and driving fork lifts around. Not great money, not a high status job but it pays my bills and I don't have to think at all. My co workers are hilarious and cool as hell, I get out at exactly 5pm every day never get held late, its pretty good for now. Got a friend with a degree and he's making $12/hr + high stress, his hair is falling out already. But in 5 years he will surpass me wage wise.

It is almost real capitalism, and it works fucking amazing. There aren't any gulags and the """poor""" of today live better than the kings of the 1800s.

Get fucked.

>FULL SOCIALISM
>NOT SOCIALIST
>it actually makes sense you just need to read a book

do Americans really do this as a conversation starter? that would be quite tactless and forward over here

>still wants to be working warehouse 5 years later
I hope you guys get a 401k high match or something at least...

>it actually makes sense you just need to read a book
post your face when you actually realize the communist manifesto is so short and devoid of content that it only takes 1 hour to read from front to back and that brainlets actually think it counters human nature and history

Attached: 1523492045529.png (258x544, 130K)

capitalism is just neo-feudalism

Shit man I hope not, but unless I take night classes or something I don't have much choice. I'm 27 and don't have a degree, i've worked around 8 different jobs none of them paid $20/hr or had benefits. The last job I had worked me like a slave for $12

I used to be in this EXACT situation user. It's dangerous because it's too comfy and easy. There's absolutely zero upwards mobility, and it's so comfortable you'll never want to leave. That's how you end up a middle aged deadbeat still working at the exact same warehouse his entire life still making $20 an hour. Comfort is not desirable user, because it means stagnation

>conversation starter
Course not, wth? Its just boomer rhetoric.
>hurr do watcha love n youll never work a day in your life
>hurrr never too old to go to school
Shut up!

Human nature is a bad argument. The history argument is much better.

Communism is directly in contradiction to all of Western moral philosophy. Western culture has human rights ingrained in it, and communism completely refutes the notion of individual rights.

Collectivism is cancer.

What should I do then? what did you change?

>Feudalism
>all property belongs to the king
>the king grants property rights to others in the form of fiefs
>nobility who possess fiefdoms may profit from them, but ownership still belongs to the king

>Capitalism
>you can own your property
>you can freely trade your own property
>the government cannot encroach on certain rights to your property

You have no fucking idea what feudalism is
t. History student writing thesis based in 15th century

What he strive for? That is good pay, seems like you emphasized the pay.
I hope you make it man, at least you have cool coworkers but you know they come and go, nature of warehouse. The working man is so fucked these days, invest time (the most precious commodity) to an entity and in the end youre left battered and alone. You mentioned night classes where does your interest lie?

>I SAID DOUBLE CARAMEL, FAGGOT, WHERES YOUR MANAGER?!

I don't have an interests but I was thinking about getting a degree in nursing. I did a little bit of college I have all the pre reqs passed. I was a business major, I was going to go down to the college and see if my credits could go towards a nursing degree.

lol
Origamalio

I imagine someone works at a factory but wants to be a programmer instead

That's a good gig. I have a passion for cars and bikes but I looked into it for awhile, most mechanics are miserable and the pay is terrible. You'll be doing oil changes at jiffy lube for $11/hr.

Become a skilled laborer instead of an unskilled laborer. A plumber, as a random example, is not harder to be than a warehouse worker. You'll still leave at 5pm every day (unless you start your own business and don't want to) and you'll still have hilarious coworkers you develop inside jokes with and fuck around with all day. BUT as a plumber you'll constantly be getting better and eventually you'll master the trade. Once you have the trade mastered, you'll never lose that. For the rest of your life you'll have a valuable skill that will forever be needed by society. You can start your own business too if you're sick of wage slaving for the boss. Just like your warehouse job you just go to work every day and then live your life however you want when work is over, but the difference is you're constantly getting better at something instead of just clocking in and clocking out

That's just one example, but the point is to become a skilled worker not a worker ant drone.

kek true, but I'm 35 and pretty much just doing it for fun because I got bored of being an electrician. Worst case scenario I'll go be an electrician again.

Doesn't counter my argument though

I wasn't a plumber, but I worked for a company that installed water purification systems into homes for like a week. My co worker/trainer was a former plumber. I hated the sort of work, it was a lot harder than what they told me and you have to be really good at diagnosing problems. I worked 10 - 12 hour days, driving in a white van all around my state going on calls to set these systems up. That was my introduction to the "trades" and I tucked tail, really really hated it.

>have all the pre reqs
Bueno.jpeg
You can get an AA in nursing desu, from what I hear that is considered a joke these days but it could get your foot in the door. Look into online nursing bachelors too, i knew a roastie in cc who was gunning for that. Barely passed Chem 1, meanwhile me a literal autist enjoyed it, the lecture, not labs that is.

Then don't be a plumber, that was just one example. Point is you can go clock in and out of your warehouse everyday for the next 10 years and be in the exact same place or you can go clock in and out of a trade every day and in 10 years you'll be invaluably skilled with countless possibilities for change, like owning a business or branching off into some specialized area of the trade. I left my warehouse job and started in industrial mechanics setting up conveyor belts in factories and now 6 years later I've moved into a specialized company that fixes assembly robots.

I suggest trades specifically because you can start working and making the same amount you're making now right away as opposed to some other degree where you've got a few years of school before you even start working and getting paid.

>enjoy programming
>become programmer
>never program outside of work
time to get other hobbies

I completely agree. I feel like just yesterday I was 20 and not taking life seriously at all, felt like I had the world figured out and a future. Now I'm almost 28 and don't have a fucking thing to show for it, making matters worse is i'm still in my small home town.

Similar situation senpai. That's why I veered into a research career, using programming for computational tasks instead of for the sake of programming. It aligns a lot more with what I want to do anyway.

Ideal is to work contract job in white collar a few months, travel a month, come back and repeat. Problem is I can't get jobs quickly enough because low experience, so that becomes, "work 3 months, be unemployed 2 months with no money, work 4 months, spend 3 months unemployed with no money..."
How, why? My perfect life plan has been ruined. Woe! Just hire me you stupid fucking shits. All I ever wanted was to be an adventurer but here I am stuck in poverty hell.

How did you get it? All the warehouse jobs in my area are minimum wage

Travel is a waste. There is nothing to see on this shit planet.

I know the feeling user. Getting older sucks when your life is stagnant and staying still, but it's honestly not bad at all when you're working towards a goal. The thing I really want to stress is that you're still just clocking in in the morning and clocking out in the afternoon, it's not going to consume your life any more than your comfy warehouse job is. The difference is that you're improving towards something. Instead of that nagging feeling in the back of your mind wondering if you're doing the right thing or wasting your time at the job, you'll KNOW that you're on the right path, and you're just grinding your skills out. You're not making decisions or coming up with plans for your future or stressing about what you should do or what change you should make to your life, you're just grinding out the job and developing the skills. It's actually less stressful than working in a warehouse, because you know going to work every morning and grinding on autopilot is exactly what you should be doing, rather than constantly subconsciously wondering if you're doing the right thing in your life.

You're going to make it user, it's not that different than the warehouse job you just have to get over the difficult first few hurdles then grind like you are now, but for skills and a paycheque, instead of just grinding for a paycheque alone.

Securityfag here. I make 15euros/hr on average patrolling mostly empty buildings and areas, and driving around the the patrol car. You have the occasional drunkies and junkies you have to deal with, but mostly you are by yourself doing repetetive tasks such as seeing that doors are locked and windows are intact, and I love it that way. I have a degree in physical education as I enjoy sports, but I quit that job since I hate having to deal with people all the time.

no but i like it.
>shit planet
Stop going to atlanta? There's tons of cool shit and nice places bruh, and I love just walking around a fuckhuge giant city being anonymous IRL and doing whatever I want, just wandering around lost. Nothing better in the world. I also like seeing how long I can live out of a single small backpack for (as in a normal every day carry backpack that no one would look twice at.) It's a fun challenge.

I had a perfect job that was just sitting in an office, work only took about 3 hours per day, and my manager was elderly and couldn't keep up with his own work so he never had time to supervise me. He thought I was a God at this job because of how fast I got tasks done. I spent about 5 hours per day lurking SFW stuff like webcomics, manga, wiki articles, and whatever else interested me.

Damn myself for wanting to go back to school. Now I have a degree and a much higher paycheck but I actually have to spend 8 hours a day working for competent people. Damn myself. I had it so good.

Actually having to work at work sucks dude. I don't want to solve other peoples problems, the stress isn't worth the pay.

Lol im working as a bartender and ive never stepped foot in college. If you spent the time to get the degree you should put it to use.
