Well in my High School I was forced to read text by black authors and poets such as Ralph Ellison, Langston Hughes, and Zora Neale Hurston, even though my school was only 20% black. Teacher was black though. As you can imagine I was not the least bit interested in any of that garbage. And then as a senior my teacher was legally blind and I just browsed my phone throughout the class.
