I haven't the slightest idea why they are so expensive. the ones in my area are valued at 1m plus. I was working in one and saw a picture from the 70s with a family with 5-6 kids. It's amazing to me that some guy could afford that 50 years ago and now it's worth more than most people make in a lifetime. the one pictured nobody even lives in anymore. it's a rental for weddings and other events. makes me sad that our economy is so fucked and the boomers overestimate their property. they think having someone do 5k worth of yard work increases their home value by 10k and end up fucking over their children when their kids can't afford the home they were born in

If I'm going to be forced to live in a spiritually/culturally dead country I should at least be able to get away from the people killing it. I was advised by two of my work associates to try online dating and seeing the profiles people put up of themselves was the last nail in the coffin for me.

yes. nobody likes it here. we dont even like being on this site. its all toxic and degenerate. most robots would be happy stable persons living somewhere hermit style. sadly our government has outlawed this (and in places where its allowed to live outside of towns, has made it impossible to buy land without a giant loan, for which you would have to work for decades, thus not being able to live for yourself)

I like the old Victorian houses in my hometown, especially the ones done in the Italianate style. These things are so fucking sturdy it beggars belief. Peronally I prefer the more modestly sized "doctors' houses", because they're comfortably sized yet cozy-feeling, and also the huge 19th-century mansions sort of creep me out a bit.
A house like this is worth more to me than the most impressive SoCal mansion.
