it does however excel in test-retest similarity and in self-image recognition, much more so than horoscopes
though tbf I haven't looked at the personality prediction literature in a very long time - I'm a phd student in psychology but my field is nothing to do with personality tests so all I'm saying is what I remember from undergrad

true but the standard of empiricism has changed quite a lot even in the past 20-30 years
at one point alchemy was the peak of empiricism but now it's quite rightly ignored as pseudoscience
I'm certain that MBTI will be succinctly replaced by more accurate and predictive tests in the future, however that doesn't mean they aren't at least somewhat predictive right now
I see them more as a sort of general indicator and an interesting theory, nothing concrete that I would base investigations off of, but something to consider nonetheless, if even for nothing more than their pedigree in the psychological canon
