To advance my point, there is a whole industry that lives off of weddings. Catering, event management, bands, wedding dresses, special locations, pastors, fireworks, hotels, cakes - a wedding calebration in a western country can be as much as 30.000$ for an average couple. That's why so much couples nowadays choose to delay marriages into their 30+, when it used to be normal to marry at 18 pretty much everywhere, and wedding was a local ceremony at the church, and maybe a registry office with champagne.
