Everyone plays a guitar, or thinks they can. Boring.

>posts pepe with a nylon stringed guitar
>>hands smell like steel
my autism is screaming

Play something for us then

Thing is I never know what to play. Most music I listen is played in a band and will probably sound lame if I just played the guitar part.

This hobby is also a good reason for a guy to grow his nails out.

does anyone wanna be guitar buddies.
i play a jazzmaster

What kind of music do you like user?
Try learning some Hendrix or Knopfler songs, most of them sound great even with just an electric.

Also if you learn six chords you can wail on six million sad country songs

I've played lots of genres and they all sound pretty good even without any other instruments, so you can just play pretty much anything that's around your level of skill and it'll probably sound decent.

>good reason for a guy to grow his nails out
Guitar was the reason I started trimming nails more often, my dude. I couldn't hold down the strings.

i play pretty badly, but i enjoy it despite that. only ever really learned folk stuff.

Practice user! It took me over two years to get a voice I'm comfortable sharing with people. There's plenty of resources available online, free or for a small fee.

I mostly listen to albums on Youtube and I tend to forget what I listen to some time ago. Recently I've been listening to Foster the People, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Grizzly Bear, King Gizz. Some time ago I also listened to Unknown Mortal Orchestra, DIIV, Wild Nothing, Still Corners, Sales, Father John Misty. I also sometimes come back to Infected Mushroom from the time I was into EDM.

I don't have an electric guitar, only an acoustic one.

Nylon is more comfy than steel tho imo. But I play almost exclusively flamenco, Renaissance and classic music, so I guess I'm biased. I'm planing on learning a couple of Russian marches too this summer.
I got a new Pro Andalus 20-S a couple of days ago, and I'm super satisfied with it.

Not to mention I've started practicing the Irish Tin Whistle too. I felt it was about time I learned to read sheet music, and if I did it with an 'easier' instrument, I could get two flies in one hit.
I've also got an harmonica laying around, but I haven't really touched it since I bought it. But it's on the bucket list.

I can play the guitar and sing, but I still want to die.

This 6 gorillion times.
Learn something easy that you like, then work your way up to more complicated songs and techniques.

>makes you develop calluses that you can eat as a snack

Is nobody seriously going to even mention this one?

I play. I enjoy it. I'm not a very good player but i've been playing a long time and am confident with music theory. I want to take what i know and develop it in to something interesting.

People who think that playing the guitar is boring are boring.

I can write cathy melodies, but not a cohesive song.
I know the key I'm playing in and some theory, but I cant transition from verse to chorus etc. I cant structure a song. Any tips on composition?

No because i have no idea what youre talking about

I play clawhammer-style banjo to get in touch with muh american rots but I agree with you. Please everyone take up an instrument, it's good for you, just don't be a douche about playing

Guitar is for fucking losers who just want free pussy, why not learn an actually challenging instrument like the violin??

Was beginning to wonder when this guy was going to show up

The harmonica is the easiest instrument to sound competent at. Understanding how to read tabs is literally all it takes. Overdrawing and all that complicated shit though, thats for masters and it takes years.

Because people have lives and not everyone feels like playing a pretentious fag instrument
