Start by providing the supposed evidence against it.
Luke Gomez
Go back to /christian/ No one on Jow Forums is converted by your little circlejerk.
Joseph Hughes
I suppose I'm Protestant, but I'm interested in Catholicism or Orthodoxy. I've become more and more disillusioned with Protestantism as of late. Any Christians who aren't Protties?
I see Jow Forums getting invaded by consistent homo threads recently. I thought I should fight back against them.
Robert Jones
Forget denominarions...for now. Just stick with bible and with the message I posted in the OP regarding salvation.
Dylan Ross
I would be a lot more religious if it meant I could find a wife, but christian women no longer exist
Jordan Carter
Why not? There's evidence that God existed. There's evidence that Jesus was a real historical figure.
Grayson Bell
Nonsensical NT version: >be devil >see God visiting the earth >get splendid idea >try to tempt God by offering God God's creation
What actually happened >be devil >see Prophet of God >try to tempt him with material riches >fail because Prophets prefer Paradise >get new plan >inspire some random guy called saul to claim he saw god and talks on behalf of him >inspire literal-who gentile church leaders to cobble together a pantheon of deities >insprise the new church persecute all israelite groups that actually followed Jesus teachings and burn all their books
Benjamin Ramirez
Am I still Christian if I'm searching for another mans cum tapes? Its just because I hear that he cums like a beast and I'm curious to find out if its true
>convert to christianity >confronted with 1000s of denominations all claiming exclusivity to salvation >it's literally impossible to determine which is correct since no one has any more basis in their scripture than the other because the bible is a contradictory mess written by various anonymous authors with different creeds living in different locations in different time periods >go to hell
Ayden Lewis
There's not evidence, there is some hints on the second and that's it
Jordan Cox
>My fairy tail is real, so it's called theology and not mythology
Even if I believed god exist, my life is so shit I'd probably hate the guy
Caleb Jones
Oh, I'm not at all new to the faith. I've just become more invested in my faith as of late. I've been a Protestant (I suppose), but I've becoming more interested in Catholicism or even Orthodoxy. I was just wondering if there were some Christian anons here who aren't Protties.
>tfw the reason I have a trap fetish is because of this cesspool I stopped browsing this place frequently ever since last year (only drop in once in a while like now), but this place still has left me messed up in certain ways. I've asked for forgiveness whenever I look at traps, but I keep doing it. It's so degenerate and sinful, but it's tough. I feel like I'm stuck with this degenerate fetish forever now.
Ian Cook
>My fairy tail is real >fairy tail
Jordan Taylor
English isn't my first language and that manga has more value than Cucktianity.
Brandon Hughes
Im Catholic! Its very wholesome I love it. Never been to any other Christian church though
Jacob Walker
I actually thought about dedicating to Christianity. It should help with my depression to have something to believe in, right? Because currently I got nothing
What's your experience been with Christianity so far in your life? Did you grow up in a Christian family, go to a Christian school, or anything of that nature?
Jonathan Long
i have started to get back in to Christianity and i have been feeling a little better. and i'm going to started reading the Bible again.
God loves you. He will always provide for you. He will always take care of you. Just keep praying, keep reading the good word, he will reward your faith. Maybe even with a girlfriend! Remember that no matter how you sin, God will forgive you. Remember that no matter how you live or how you die, eternal paradise in heaven awaits you. Isn't that wonderful? You're on the winning team. You're on the winning side. You always have the moral high ground. Doesn't his love comfort you?
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Actions are the greatest testimony to faith, if you believe Jesus is Christ, then do what he commands, Christianity isn't about theological statements, it's about love and genuinity.
Jacob Clark
Faggot gets murdered for being a faggot? He reaped what he sowed, that's the price you pay for straying from God's light. A little girl is taken by a stranger on her way home from school, gets raped and strangled to death? It was part of God's plan, she's in a better place now. The Lord works in mysterious ways, we only need concern ourselves with carrying out his will. He is the light and meaning in our lives. Remember, he has a plan for us all.
Funnily enough, I grew up Catholic and have become very disillusioned with Catholicism lately and have become more and more interested in Reformed theology.
If god is against buttsex then why did he put the male G-spot in the ass?
Nathan Ross
God is against buttsex because desert goatfuckers said so, that's why. Enjoy your endless trillions upon trillions of years of agonizing pain and the most extreme and cruel torture conceivable for all time because you disagree. Cruel and unusual punishment doesn't apply to sinners.
why are christfags so afraid to provide concrete, non-self-referencing evidence that support their claims?
Lincoln Powell
user, God is energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed, is everywhere, is a part of everything, has power over all things (i.e energy defies gravity but is also gravity at the same time). God created the universe through love, he gave energy which caused the big bang.
Zachary Hernandez
OH HELL YES FINALLY A THREAD FOR CHRISTIANBOTS. Non denominational Christian here.
Ryan Hernandez
even if i take your argument at face value, it doesn't get you any closer to being able to assert that the christian god is the true god. try again
Dylan Miller
How can I prove who energy is when energy is invisible without self-referencing? The path to God is not one of knowledge but of genuinity and love (action, not an emotion).
Dylan Adams
way to miss the point idiot. let's say that i accept your claim that a god has to exist because of your energy argument. that doesn't get you any closer to being able to state that christianity is the one true religion. it only enables you to say that there is a god, not that the god is the christian god.
Camden Rogers
Well first off if your social skills are currently preventing you from getting any gf then trying for a Christian gf isn't going to help. If you are however capable of getting a girlfriend and just currently unhappy with the current selection then that depends on your age. If you are in high school still then join your church's youth group, and if you're not currently going to a church then you should start with that. If you are in college then try some of the Christian clubs at your school, if you are college-aged but in a university/college you can still normally join those bible studies they host their, they are much better than church young adult Bible studies because they are specifically directed towards taking in new members and only keeping them around for four years max, church groups on the other hand are often made up of people that have known each other for their entire life and not incredibly welcoming to new members.
Elijah Ortiz
I think you missed my point, I said how you can figure it, now go try that, my God is the Christian God, but he's also the God of many Buddhists and Hindus and Muslims, he's the God of the genuine and those who do his will, that is love, read the Gospel, see what Christ commands, start doing that and you'll see there's a God.
Noah Sullivan
Based. How are your interactions with others regarding your faith?
Jackson Nelson
Look into natural law arguments about sexuality, Christians don't like homosexuality because they believe sex is ordered towards procreation. It's not just desert man ideology, it's actually more ancient Greek philosophical thought if anything.
Julian Collins
Technically, I don't believe it's the actual act of sodomy. Being attracted to the other gender is a curse put on by God as a punishment for hatred for god and worshiping idols instead.
David Johnson
>some hints If you're going to question the existence of Jesus, as a historical figure, then you've got to question the existence of just about everyone from back then and before.
It sounds like you're starting with a Sola Scriptura interpretation of Christianity which is why you have this problem in the first place. Catholics and Orthodox both have sacred tradition which they place in almost equal reverence to the Bible itself, the real question to ask is who has the authority to interpret scripture in the first place.
David Gonzalez
Catholicism is paganism plus Christianity therefore Satanic. There are tons of websites and forums discussing the Catholic Church's pagan practices and rituals.
Just be a bible reading Christian. Don't fall for Catholicism
To answer your question, I rarely interact with others regarding my faith. I don't like most Western Christians, a sentiment my father shared. I get sick of these pastors fearmongering about harmless things like Pokemon as evil works of Satan, or acting like they're God's left hand man and putting on a show behind a pulpit. They think memorizing the Bible cover to cover, or shouting until their face turns blue is a substitute for understanding and if you call them on it they go on about how God's gonna bring his wrath upon you for coming against them. It sickens me.
Jonathan Peterson
Why should I believe your christian god's explanation of this energy over any of the other equally plausible but non scientifically verifiable world religions
He is the one true god is not an acceptable answer
Christian Clark
There is extraordinary interest in the historical jesus over almost every other historical figure. If the best we can do is "some hints" that's not a good sign regardless of what it says other historical figures.
I think it's pretty funny that the contrarian debate around religion has come full circle. Atheism got so popular so fast among internet people that now it's fringe to push back by being religious.
Congratulations everyone you made atheism so popular that it is now cool to be a christian.
Kayden Ramirez
Being a Christian has always been fringe though.
Robert Thomas
This God also doesn't like it when people only follow him out of fear of hell, because there isn't intent of actually wanting to follow him, but rather just a fear
Cooper Torres
It's very prevalent in the South. I grew up in Tennessee, and my grandpa's sister was part of a church in Alabama just like what I described. It's funny how all these Baptists or whatever don't realize Jesus specifically detested those who prayed in public for a show.
Eli Martin
>le icons are satanic maymay Shut the fuck up PROTESTANT
Blake Smith
You're making the ridiculous assumption that with scientific evidence (the study of matter) anyone can describe WHO energy is. Quite frankly it's not of great importance, life isn't about being in a state of knowledge, what God cares about is whether you walk in genuinity and love. As I said before the path to God is not one of knowledge, I think many Buddhists believe in my God and Muslims and Hindus, it's not about what you call him, you can call your father "dad", "papa", "user", etc but at the end of the day it's the same energy guiding. Life isn't about what you believe but rather what you do. Christ said, "Blasphemy against Christ can be forgiven but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot."
The truth will come when love becomes your philosophy, without love, spiritual knowledge is utterly vain.
Justin Martin
Nice new age heresy
Nolan Reyes
How is that heresy?
Juan Watson
You've slathered new age bullshit all over Christianity and it's almost offensive. Read some actual theology instead of peddling this garbage
Aiden Brooks
gross this is not christanity user
next you're going to start trying to sell me crystals and shit to communicate with st. peter. maybe in your version of the new testament pajeets and mudslimes end up in eternal paradise but that's the first I'm hearing about it.
Landon Kelly
>everyone here saying to read the Bible and form your own interpretation when they forget the Bible was compiled centuries after Jesus by the Catholics Join the Catholics, they have a complete and coherent interpretation of God in the Catechism and are also one of the two denominations that can trace themselves directly to Jesus.
Perhaps you just don't like my terms, if you're talking about how I mentioned the Big Bang, by Big Bang I just meant the start of the universe.
Then what is Christianity? A theological statement of belief on a paper? You hand in your ticket saying I believe let me in?
Christianity is about love, denying oneself to benefit others, Christ said "Deny yourself daily and follow me", he said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled", he said "Why call me Lord, Lord and do not the things I say?".
Ayden Miller
>those trips fuck off satan, your cover is blown.
Aaron Watson
>Just be a bible reading Christian. >Don't fall for Catholicism oh the irony
Can some other Christians in this thread tell me what this guys deal is? I'm not religious but I decided to poke my head in the thread since it might be interesting by even I can tell he's into some weird new age version of Christianity but what I want to know is what someone who's actually a Christian thinks, it's weird to see people on both sides giving him shit
It's what happened to Jesus, the "religious" people of his day rejected him and the servant is not greater than his master, therefore so will I be cast out as Beezlebub as Christ was by the Pharisee's.
Michael Perez
>he even implied reading anything but KJV Absolute heresy
Nathan Powell
he's having a giggle larping as a christian preacher to lost robots but he's doing a really bad job at it
Hunter Rodriguez
>Not reading the original scriptures instead of a translation
Lincoln Murphy
That's pretty based too but I don't know Greek/Latin/Aramaic
Jason Martinez
What arguments against it do you have in mind? First things first, everyone saying THIS NEVER HAPPENED or THAT IS SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE have to understand the New and Old Testaments. The Old Testament contains not only many truths, but much storytelling as well. Many of the stories were passed down orally generation to generation, which also meant people acted out many of the stories as well, for some parts I mean. For many biblical scholars a part like the description of the Sons of Israel is a debatable one. Were they the original founders of their tribes or are the characters in the story representing the tribes? Questions like that come up a lot. Less-grey areas are ones like Noah's sons begetting all the kingdoms from Egypt to the Levant, obvious hyperbole and meant as a literary device; on the other side would be the story of King David and Bathesheba, the mother of King Solomon, which was likely a recorded historical event. I say that event is likely not only because most scholars say so as well, but because another thing you must remember about many of Old Testament stories were first recorded when the Temple in Jerusalem was in power. I could go on about that but this is long enough as it is The New Testament, I'll be quick with, the four gospels, John, Matthew, Luke, and Mark, were based on a series of eye-witness accounts of the prophet Jesus Christ. Christ himself, along with his apostles, and later prophets, and even the writers of the gospels were all real people. All of the teachings are irrefutable, there is no clear evidence to suggest that the prophets did not say what they said. Especially considering parts of the New Testament like Saint Peter and Saint Paul's letters. The more arguable parts, such as Lazarus being risen from the dead, they all happened in the open as well, these aren't just single person accounts like Mohammad with Gabriel. I'm pretty much at the limit, but please bring up the arguments you've seen still
Nolan Ward
Eh, I'd buy he's sincere, he's just into some weird new age version of Christianity, I think I've seen similar beliefs from a few of the Christian offshoot cults on my campus
I'm not new age user, all I'm saying is what God cares about is love, not theological belief, Christianity is about following Christ.
Nolan Miller
>Not learning Greek/Latin/Aramaic so you can read the scripture directly It's like you want your entire faith to be a lie
Carter Brown
i bet you unironically believe that jesus wrote the bible
Ian Moore
i've been thinking about learning latin. do you know it?
Benjamin Nguyen
My Latin is rusty as hell and I still need to learn Greek and Aramaic. I'd recommend learning Latin if you're into classic literature though
Xavier Gonzalez
how does one into latin though? rosetta stone or some shit?
Alexander Russell
I learned Latin in high school, I guess my best advice is to take Latin lessons, take a Latin course if you're in college, and maybe read both the Latin and English version of a classic at the same time
Did everyone here forget how Catholicism just appopriates paganist symbols and makes them their own so they could gain those paganists? They don't actually have any other basis in paganism other than symbolism and stealing holiday dates.
