i don't understand. i've been told (mostly by immigrants or people with immigrant parents) that i have "no culture"
isn't a person's culture just the type of art, music, language, lifestyles, food, etc that he or she likes? if i don't necessarily eat the same foods or listen to the same music as my parents, it means i have no culture?
i invent my own meals, i listen to music i like, i like art that looks nice even if it's from some other country or time period. same with my habits, interests and lifestyle choices. if someone likes a thing simply because "it is my culture" they're probably an idiot
is "you have no culture" just some normie insult they give to people who don't fit in their generalized preconceptions of people? or is just because i'm white
I always find it funny when people think that culture means food and music. Most importantly, your culture includes things such as world views, ethics and values. The food you eat is just a minor detail, but how your brain works is another story.
Sebastian Davis
White people "have no culture" because their culture is the default.
I don't like racism, but white supremacy makes more sense than anyother supremacy.
Brayden Price
Most likely both. I think culture is thought by most to be related to a race/ethnic group but during a time of individualism it makes sense to me to have your own culture, so they're just being faggots user. Don't worry about it.
Carson Parker
Tell them their "culture" is so shit that they ran from its source.
Ayden Clark
>Most importantly, your culture includes things such as world views, ethics and values isn't that an ideology? for people that don't have a religion
Blake Flores
Meme culture best culture desu senpai
Camden Campbell
it's just a jewish way of saying you should be OK with being replaced with african subhumans.
Adrian Watson
it means that white people have no real cohesion, more specifically, white americans. i mean, think about it, i have no bond to you, not like how hispanics, blacks or asains in america do. we dont share a deeper cultural understanding because of the way we were raised like most people of the same race and culture do. its kind of a vague phenomena, and one that seems very alien to us.
Caleb Brooks
>your culture includes things such as world views, ethics and values But no one agrees on these things
Brody Cruz
Culture is basically localized ideology
Ian Jones
People that brag "about immergrant culture" never talk about why they left there shitty country. Instead of help changing their shit whole countries.
Chase Davis
Do you make your own personal art, tools, clothing etc.? And does it flow in the same vein as your ancestors or surroundings? These things would be an example of your cultural background, beliefs and how you view the world. How you interact with your environment and people around you for your use and shape your identity within your community. Ask yourself these things and you will find out your cultural roots and what, where, whom or what part of society as a whole you belong too or with.
Jacob Ramirez
>isn't that an ideology? for people that don't have a religion Ideology is strongly embedded in culture. Also, what does religion have to do with it?
Ayden Richardson
>isn't that an ideology? Kind of. In the same way as art, music, language. Its easy to give examples of culture. But, its hard to define it. It is more than the sum of its parts. >White people "have no culture" strongly disagree. My roommate is a white and from the south. Southern culture exists and is different than mine
John Green
Not in today's (American at least) society. There was a time when they did, user, but we live in a time period where nobody really sees beyond himself anymore and you rarely see total overlap in views from one person to another.
Carter Russell
> Instead of help changing their shit whole countries Fuck you for being a hypocrite. You 10/10 would be the first to leave if you lived in a shit hole country
Justin Peterson
culture is an abstract concept with no clear definition so to say someone has "no culture" is as retarded as saying someone has it >is "you have no culture" just some normie insult they give to people who don't fit in their generalized preconceptions of people? or is just because i'm white both
Parker Evans
It's what racists say to insult whites for their lack of an ingroup preference or for failing to make any discrimination between those cultural norms that are traditional and racially endemic, and others which are foreign.
Benjamin Perez
>i have no bond to you, not like how hispanics, blacks or asains in america do. we dont share a deeper cultural understanding because of the way we were raised like most people of the same race and culture do
you don't support the bill of rights? freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and many of our other liberties are pretty unique to america, with the few other countries with comparable laws being Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Finland (all 95% or more white).
The majority of non-white people don't believe in freedom of speech if that speech hurts their feelings.
What is this "deeper cultural understand" that you speak of?
Isaac Williams
>White people "have no culture" Also, general American culture is a thing
Carter Lewis
>Ideology is strongly embedded in culture really? but I formed my ideology by researching ideas online, not by being told what to believe by people older than me.
does "having culture" just mean that the person is intellectual lazy and takes up any idea that is perceived to be normal?
Isaac Roberts
>insult whites for not being racist >constantly bitch and moan about 'white racism'
Of course there is overlap and agreement. Those kinds of views are just so embedded in your brain that you're unable to even acknowledge them.
Nathan Rivera
White people come in 4 original flavours of ancestry >West European >Italian (Roman) >Nordics >Slavs
A lot of white people really hate each other, see WW2 for example.
Chase Hernandez
when your the default race, you don't need to think about it. If you moved to China, you would be very aware that you are white
Kayden Thompson
>intellectual lazy and takes up any idea that is perceived to be normal? Maybe, but there's something to be said for trusting conventional wisdom. Truly smart people know what to trust, and what to question
John Myers
>baltic >basque >celtic >uralic
china vs japan black people genociding each other since forever muslims vs jews (both semites)
Caleb Kelly
>Those kinds of views are just so embedded in your brain that you're unable to even acknowledge them name one
Jace Adams
Culture is everything unique to a group, not just food and music and shit like that. As for why they are saying that... white people culture is just kind of invisible in America because it's the dominant culture. It doesn't stand out like the various cultures other ethnic groups. They either haven't thought about this too hard, or they don't mean it literally and they mean something more like white people culture just sucks and is boring. Which, at least in the case of white American culture in its current state, is probably true in some degree.
Julian Powell
>The majority of non-white people don't believe in freedom of speech if that speech hurts their feelings. Where are you getting this from? Everyone does this
>What is this "deeper cultural understand" that you speak of? The fact that you have to ask is the point. An example would be having a 'Tiger mom', or 'Jewish Guilt'
Angel Young
Being a faggot
(Originalli)
David Edwards
A culture is basically the tribal attributes of the country that you're in. There's no such thing as "white culture" or "black culture", that's just an Americanization of the word. Culture is associated with countries.
Aaron Cox
>Where are you getting this from? Everyone does this this is based on the GSS
check out the 24 minute mark. freedom of speech is not a real thing in most countries, even most 1st world countries.
>The fact that you have to ask is the point. An example would be having a 'Tiger mom', or 'Jewish Guilt'
and white people don't have anything like that? are you even a white american?
why cant individualism be a cultural trait at all?
Thomas Scott
>are you even a white american? i'm a jew so when its convenient yea > individualism be a cultural trait at all obviously. american culture definitely exists. its not unique to white people
Caleb Wood
Not him but I would at least have the decency to not berate the locals by telling them they have no culture and try to impose my own when I ran away from it all. Fuck these shitskin cunts.
