I hate to break it to you guys but all these popular singers who wrote these heartbreaking songs about being robots and isolated were all fucking groupies and had huge social circles with gfs and all. Yes, even Nick Drake had girlfriends and hookups. All their songs are bait for betas and losers to buy their records because "woah its about me :)"

They did NOT look like dorks. Richard Hell was engaged to Lizzy Mercier Descloux, who was model-tier gorgeous. He started a band with Johnny Thunders, who was basically the most Chad person in that entire scene. Tom Verlaine was dating Patti Smith, who was already collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, and hanging out with William S. Burroughs and Bob Dylan. They were all friends with Jim Carroll, who was already a successful poet.

I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. The only person in that band who was in any way dorky was Richard Lloyd, who'd undergone electro-convulsive therapy and basically followed Verlaine around like a puppy dog.
