Most people who talk or make posts about astrology don't really believe in it the same way people in ancient times did. They mostly see it as a fun personality test, but one that should be taken with a grain of salt. They're not basing major life decisions around this shit. It's the difference between "Mercury is in retrograde, so I better not take this amazing job offer I just got, 'cause it'll surely go south!" and "Mercury is in retrograde? Well that explains why my bf got mad after he misinterpreted that text I sent him!"

It may have a slight correlation to personality and how one acts under pressure. For the most part it seems to be a crapshoot that may tell a bit. Hence why sun/moon signs also make sense. Simple probability, and group think (like what user said).
