OP here is recommendation, if you end up shaving (which you should) do it in the shower, no shaving cream, just lather up real good.

If you have some hair on the lower part of you shaft, what I found to really help is put thumb under the shaft and grab the rest of the shaft to keep the skin tight while you shave, flaccid of course.
