Advice to past self

If you could travel back in time to when you first started lifting, what sort of advice would you give yourself? What do you wish you had known from the start?

Squat, you fool

disregard thots, acquire edumacations

Lifting makes it 10X easier to find a gf. But don't let lifting be the only source of your confidence. You might not always be in the best shape of your life, there can be a lot going on and you need to have other platforms of success that will give you confidence in yourself.

Squat more, heavier
Ignore any/all advice from bodybuilders
Learn Oly lifts while you're still young
No drugs
Most supplements are worthless

You are currently in the one stage of life where you get free, natural steroids. Don't waste it on machines you absolute idiot, and also go more than once a week.

you're referring to testosterone right? i wish I knew the same thing in my early 20's

thanks for the starting point you guys

Get your diet and macros in order, you can't lift your way out of eating too little.

don't believe her lies

eat more chicken, eat less beef

Get in fucking sleep schedule.
Don't fall for the porn jew
Start making your own dinner
Supplements are pointless for a beginner, focus on eating enough instead
Work on your squat form outside the gym

then i would travel even further back in time and advise to start even earlier

Bulking is a meme. 1/2/3/4 is easily obtainable within a year even on a slight cut. Work out abs every single workout. Flexibility

Dont fall in love with her, Train harder

Train squats and bench paused. Stretch reflex is a meme. Use full rom on all exercises especially ohp. Do good mornings to help your squat because your weak hamstrings and glutes will limit your squat when you hit 275 pounds on the lift. Dont compare yourself to others. Dont worry about progress, uts not a race.

I slipped a disc due to shit form on deadlifts so my #1 is gonna be learn form and maintain it for every single lift. My second big injury came from not breathing during a leg press which damaged something in my head giving me neck and head pain for 2 weeks so my #2 is BREATHE

DONT BUY CRYPTO

Be strict with your macros
Push/pull

find a hobby, stop smoking, stop hanging out with those fucking snakes you'll be better off, read more books, stop being a faggot and try harder at shit, stop playing basketball play more handball, dont listen to him when he says lets skip squats, treat your parents with kindness and respect

quit porn early. hit the gym asap. read more. don't become a stranger to your family

Its not going to make your life better.

it doesn't get better, so start working now to make it better

Tell your dad to go to the doctor and get checked for cancer in 2010. Also, go to the gym now and make a habit out of it.

Training only once a week gets you nowhere. Do heavy compound lifts. Swap programs with regular intervals. Don't buy mass gainers. Meal-prep is king for weight maintenance and economics. Warm-up and stretching is important to avoid stiffness and injury. Gains are acquired by lifting for year without getting injured, so exercise proper form.

Should had started lifting as early as 15, you didn't grow in height after you turned 13-14.

Start couting calories earlier, who would had thought you needed 3.8k for maintenance.

Bench more, like 3 times a week, and make sure you bench heavy. Your recovery is retardedly quick.

delete

didn't grow after 14, needs 4k maintenance?

I didn’t stop growing till 21.

I'm 6'0 @ 210 lbs
Workout 6 times a week and play intense basketball for 5 hours a week

1. Stick to a routine you truly enjoy.
2. Squat more
3. Put more energy into diet.

dont do squats
dont do deadlifts

:^(

dlt pls

Full body, compounds, 3x a week.
Don't watch porn.
Don't masturbate.
Don't drink alcohol!!!

Stop benching twice a week you fucking retard

this lol, i'd also add standard bench press to those 2

but those 2, especially deadlift, giant waste of time and energy

Don't fall for the bulking and cutting meme.

Same. Also don't trust anyone

eat more soy
don't squat or deadlift
2-3 rest days is ideal, your body needs time to heal

I can't give past me any real advice. Find friends maybe? So that you can tolerate all the shit that I can't tell you how to fix that you're going to run into. Maybe they will help you be social enough to have a gf. Maybe through all of this you'll have some motivation other than just hope like me but you're still going to have to deal with all this garbage anyway.

Or I could just tell me-him to start lifting earlier lmao

Don't do bro splits as a beginner

>don't skip the gym because of her
>count your calories from the beginning
>listen to celo he knows what he's talking about
>don't be afraid to ask mike for advice or help
>look up routines
>do it earlier, you waited so long this loose skin is probably here to stay
>don't fall in love with her

think that covers it

Don't stop lifting and eat better. Otherwise I did okay but got memed on by genetic permabulkers.

When you go to the dog park for the first time, DO NOT ASK FOR THE STRIPPERS PHONE NUMBER!
