Which faction does Jow Forums support?
Personally I like House, but he's against the Brotherhood of Steel which means I end up switching sides to Yes Man halfway through the game whenever I decide to support him.

I liked The Legion philosophy of survival of the fittest but after ceasar death they would fail so I always was neutral/helping NCR a little bit
The enclave. Sure their methods are extreme and would take time and resources but it's the only actual faction with competent leaders who would be able to bring post war America back and are the closet faction with ties to post war America.

House is the best option. He has the potential to rebuild things better than they were before, more so than any of the other factions. This would still be true if House were some kind of dictator, but he isn't. He simply wishes to preside over the strip and dam mainly, and given the fact that he's to thank for stopping most of the bombs in that area, he's pretty much the rightful owner of anything in region. He claims he would be an autocrat but for the most part let people do what they wanted so long as they didn't interfere with him.
I wonder how things would go down if House and the Institute crossed paths, as they inevitably would assuming they both survived the endings to their respective games.

House is the only option if you want humanity to progress past what there was in the pre-war world, instead of just emulate it or play pretend.
realistically the ncr would probably fail. but in the game they are definitely the best ending. house tends to the strip but outside of it he doesnt care. if anything were to progress in the strip house would monopolize it. the ncr at least provides law to most of the wasteland. legion is too short minded and like user said before, without ceaser they would crumble. yes man is way too neutral. without any rule progress would be incredibly slow. it would take great leaders to further anything.

I sided with the NCR but I was mad that they were enemies with the brother hood of steel. However, there's a point in the game that allows you to have both factions make piece with each other and thus I was able to receive power armor training from the brotherhood.
House is a great leader, though. He has an army of robots to do his bidding (not to mention the courier), nd considering the fact that he took a bunch of tribal savages and turned them into something half-way respectable, I think given enough time he could do a lot with the area outside the strip. All he would really need to do at first would be to send a couple securitrons and maybe a few hired mercs to maintain order in each settlement. His real problem would be eradicating the monsters and drugged-out raiders that infest the area. He would probably end up doing this sooner or later because it served his interests more than anything. The NCR would have a harder time cleansing the wasteland than House would, however the NCR would probably start working on the problem posthaste rather than when it suited them. At least House wouldn't start instituting any real laws or gather taxes from people. Its clear that he's more capable than the NCR, but he's more selfish indeed.

This is second best option after House. All the endings have 3 different paths depending on the karma of your courier. So a good karma Yes Man ending isn't too bad. Bit of an ancap ending instead of all-out chaos. But when the courier dies, things will inevitably go back to the way they were. So its bittersweet. Can definitely be the most selfish of the endings.
i really doubt house would expand outside of the strip though. sure, he would expand it. but other areas would be considered ruled by savages and he wouldn't do anything about it. i dont feel he is a great leader because he only manipulates the courier and uses only robots to do his bidding. when it comes to personal skills, he lacks. ncr has the middle ground between personal skills and technological skills to complete tasks. they dont rely on people as much as ceaser does, but they dont rely technology as much as house does. after all, if you emp house, he is finished.
The NCR's only good quality is their ideals.

at first, I agree. But he clearly has aspirations beyond the Strip and the Dam. I imagine his first targets would be Helios One, the BoS bunker, Repconn, and anywhere else technology or data could be found that would be of use to him. He has a fuckton of robots at his disposal, and in one of the ending slides it says he sends Victor back to Goodsprings to protect them, and to spy on the town. I can imagine he would eventually send them to more and more settlements, not out of the kindness of his heart, but to ensure his goals are coming to fruition and everything is going his way.

Not right away from the tumor, but he is still only human. Unless Caesar has a worthy protege, the legion will likely schism or go though many power vacuums. House has the longest life-expectancy of anyone in the game, so the fact that he is a charismatic, technological and economic genius who can live virtually forever is a very good thing for the people in area.

The only issue I can see with house is the very long term.
We don't know exactly how long he has left to live for. His mental health is at an even greater risk since he's put so much pressure and responsibility on himself.

This is actually a good concern. He seems to believe he has at least another 100 years, whether or not he's correct I don't know. But lets also imagine he sends many many robots across the country to scout for people of worth. He's an extremely smart guy, but he can't do everything himself, robots or not. He will need more scientists on his side.
I can imagine House discovering the Institute or vice-versa, since New Vegas is a famous place in the wasteland (nobody seems to know about it on the east coast but its inevitable that word will reach them someday). If he has ambitions of reaching the stars and sending ships to colonize other planets, he would probably start scooping up as many scientists as he could find, and the institute might be convinced by his ability to bring progress, just as he would see their potential, and maybe find people there he considered as smart as him.
I could definitely see a House/Institute joint effort within 50 years from FO4/NV. That is, so long as they don't go to war with each other. But I think they're all smart enough to not waste time and money on a never-ending robot vs. synth war.
Mr. House is always the one that seemed the best and most logical choice to me, and the one which if I were to actually be in that situation I would go with.
However the Legion choice was fun when I tried a character like that.

If it were like, 10-50 years after when he should have naturally died and was still alive, I think those concerns would be valid. After 200 years though, it's not a non-issue, but it drops much lower I think.
This but I feel like Bethesda's East Coast lore isn't really "canon" the same way as 1,2 and NV are. Their iterations of stuff like Enclave, BoS and Super Mutants are basically like fanfiction spinoffs.

I think the Institute would win on the basis of man power alone. If a single courier can fuck shit up there, I can only imagine what 100 synth courser armed to the teeth could do. The fact that the institute can just make endless amounts people make them a very formidable foe, the only course of action is to destroy them from inside out to stop the synth process.

Hey, the enclave are the remnants of pre war America's government. I really like the BoS, but I'm more into Lyon's ideals. I really think the NCR would be the best thing for everyone in the Mojave. The Enclave should've been victorious in previous games, because ghouls are not people and I wish they were all gone and took all those nasty muties with them. The Kings are faggy gang bangers, and if they work with the NCR they are in his way, if they side against the NCR he allows them free-reign of Freeside (for the time being). House will allow people to live their lives so long as it doesn't interfere with his interests. Like I said before, he's the reason that part of the country isn't a crater, so he has a rightful claim to any land in the Mojave. It wouldn't be there without him.

I don't recall him ever saying that's why he allows it, but that is a good argument for why he isn't moral per se. But i've never said he's a paragon of morality, he's simply the best hope for progress for the future of humanity. But also, is it made clear that the Omertas traffic slaves? I was under the impression they were simply prostitutes who made the mistake of getting hooked on chems (or were chem addicts who resorted to selling their bodies). In any case, none of the factions (aside from maybe a morally good Yes Man ending) would do anything about sex slavery/prostitution on the Strip. The NCR loves paying for whores, and the Legion would literally just fuck them for no money, making them slaves all the more.

I took it as that, what you see there is basically just what his body has dwindled to and will remain at indefinitely. Like, say his body withered to that much (essentially the bare minimum) when he got to be like 150 years old, and ever since he hasn't/won't degrade any more.

I think you mean the Lone Wanderer. But for me, its definitely the LW or Courier 6. Like you said, cyborg stuff is really powerful, but alien knowledge trumps institute knowledge. Its just a question of whether the LW can understand and use the alien knowledge to take down cyborg courier. The alien weapons are also powerful, but if the courier is super durable and fast, who knows.
Courier has the potential to easily win, at least from a gameplay perspective, because of Suvival stat and the poisons from it.
Fucker just trembles up a throwing knife or something, and boom, is free to wail on the others to death with impunity while they're stuck on the ground. Essentially the RPG aspects of NV are deeper so it allows for much more dangerous characterss.

That may be a possibility, but in my eyes, it shows there's a hard limit to what he's capable of.
He can't stop the deterioration of his body, and he can't restore himself. He can only slow down the process. I doubt that he can last 100 more years. He can many great things in that time, but he isn't immortal.

When i first played this game I killed Doc Mitchell, dragged his body into the bathtub, and then closed the door just in case someone came into his house. From that point on I killed every npc i saw since the start of Good-Springs. Best play through 10/10

I mean every quest was failed unless it was the main story line which you can get away doing even if every one dies. Like when i first got to the Elvis people i killed all of them without even giving them a chance to talk.You don't get quest xp but you get so much xp by killing. I always found a way on to the next zone. And I mean everyone died as soon as they appeared on my screen. I did a lot of quick saving for the best outcome :D
