Your'e moms tramp stamp.

Also reading Spinoza
>that feel when every substance is necessarily infinite
>that feel when there is only one substance
>that feel when we're all just modes of god
>that feel when he titled his work "ethics" and it has nothing to do with ethics

Either Spinoza was a genius or a real retard and I can't tell which.

Mark Rippetoe's starting strength isn't a meme right? Might buy the 3rd edition book.

Currently chewing through pic related.
Im very busy with uni stuff atm, and it's not exactly a light reading material (english is not my first language).
Very interesting stuff, can recommend if you've got the patience and time to spare.

Jow Forums's recommended reading, but unironically.

Zero to one. It's pretty good.

Rang and Dale's Pharmacology, 7th edition.

>tfw i will never have a thic qt3.14, smart, rational, level headed, non-judgemental, gf, to talk about Kants critique of pure reason with

Reading Dune

It's the first book I picked up since high school and im 24

Rape of nanking
I think there is value in reading about horrible stuff, it reminds me how my problems are really trivial and mostly just im my head

Pale Fire. Loving it.

Beyond Good and Evil - Nietzsche
Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious - Carl Jung

Nope, just teen adult shit

Moby Dick - reread
enjoying it immensely

The best of Richard Matheson.

Nice super candid picture of an intellectual cultivating her inner world.

I am enjoying reading this.

Well since I major in philosophy I don't do much reading in my free time of it apart from the necessary stuff. Have a lot of classic courses at the moment mostly focused on aristotle and stoicism, but we organised a reading group for Kierkegaard which is pretty great so far, nothing that life changing though.

Apart from that I tried peterson's 12 rules book and read some kafka and handke from time to time, but not that motivated to be honest.

Attached: best.jpg (564x705, 79K)

Nothing, I finished Turn of the Screw last night.

Fictions by Borges

The Mote in God's Eye. It's nice, but I'm struggling to finish it. Also I had Carrie from Stephen King lying around, and I just read that in 2 days

Call of the Wild by Jack London.
What are your thoughts on it fellow anons?

SIEGE by James Mason

Re-reading Paradise Lost, Finnegans Wake is my one page a day read that I've been re-reading for 10 years or so, and I'm currently on Woolf's The Waves. The Waves is actually better than both of those.

Can write a few sentences about it?
I was thinking about to give it as a present for my nephew.

>has nothing to do with ethics
Finish the book before making such retarded statements

Mein Kampf

It’s my favorite book. I read it once a year.

Mein Kampf is the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the Führer and his pals from Germany as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Germany vetoed the idea of Hitler writing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his book. Nazism series might be anti-Jewish (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of jewry, communism and capitalism. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least the books were good though

"No!" The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Adolphs mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Mein Kampf by the same Karl Marx. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Mein Kampf at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Karl Marx." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Mein Kampf" you are, in fact, trained to read Karl Marx.

Some pulp novel I picked up at Chatuchak called The Q Document. It's not too bad actually. I have In God's Name, Papillion, and The Unconsoled on my nightstand. Probably going to read The Unconsoled next because my ex highly recommended it.

>ftfy
Mein Kampf is the dullest auto-biography in the history of auto-biographies. Seriously each chapter following the Führer and his pals from Germany as they fight the Jewish peril has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of rhetoric, all to make hatred tedious, to make destiny seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when the Nazi Party vetoed the idea of Eckart writing the book; he made sure the book would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for the Party. Mein Kampf might be anti-Jewish (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of jewry, communism and capitalism. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

>a-at least Zweites Buch was good though

"No!" The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character made a speech, the author wrote instead that the character's "passions and emotions erupted volcanically."

I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Adolph's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Mein Kampf by the same Ayn Rand. She wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Mein Kampf at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Atlas Shrugged." And she was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Mein Kampf" you are, in fact, trained to read Ayn Rand.

Its dope as fuck.

Its about a kid who cant do pullups or swim or coumnt properly and his soldier uncle teaching him how to learn to do these things for himself.

Infinite Jest and World as Will and Idea vol 1

I thought DFW was a meme until i started reading him but the book is easily one of my favorites I've ever read
Also i feel bad that Schopenhauer's philosophy is based on premises that are easily falsifiable but he's very systematic which is cool

The interpretation of dreams, by Sigmund Freud

currently reading all of Huxleys books

pretty good so far

Attached: 1984isoverrated.png (223x318, 170K)

I read reference books and how to books.
Why would I waste my time reading about the thinking of other people then do my own thinking and most importantly doing something and experiencing things?

"Aryan Sun Myths: the Origin of Religions"
it is a really interesting read if you're interested at all in religion

recently finished Jordan Petersons new book, about to start A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway

It may not be in the book but can you please explain what the black sun means? I legit can't find a proper explanation

wikipedia has a pretty detailed page on its occult and esoteric meaning. Historically is was probably used by slavic pagan groups as a sigil for the sun(highest God)

Reading about early jewish and christian history right now. Last novel I read was VALIS.

have you read paul johnsons history of the jews?

No man will, that's why people have friends.

Currently reading 'The House on the Borderlands', should've finished it by now by school and work has kept me busy. Also recently bought 'The Great God Pan' and 'Crime and Punishment'.
Just finished 'A Farewell to Arms' myself and loved it.

Attached: 1520520003975.png (500x775, 416K)

I have not, everything I've read so far has been limited to before the first few centuries CE. I might check it out thanks

I enjoyed old man and the sea and for whom the bell tolls so I figured it would be worth getting.

But I also tried reading crime and punishment recently and I just don't like the style or something idk can't be fucked with any russian authors it seems

hows the philosophy studies going m8

Been having a break from non-fiction, almost done with Spice & Wolf. Probably will start reading philosophy again afterwards.

systematic?

Because someone else might already have pursued a path of enquiry and found it fundamentally flawed? Or pursued it fruitfully, and then their writings can support your own intellectual development.

tl;dr why reinvent the wheel, or try to invent perpetual motion machines?

>VALIS
That was one fuck of a trip.

Averroism is heresy, read Aquinas

The Way of the Wolf: Straight Line System
>be me
>feel fucking hyped to get into sales
>join insurance firm as retention agent
>apply Belfort's straight line sales system
>MFW EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH 2 MONTHS IN

I can't stop re-reading it. Seriously. Read it and watch the Wolf of Wall Street and you'll pick up on so much more shit it's incredible.

Feels fucking fantastic

Gosh how I'd love to slowly lick her beautiful calves and then put my face between her legs.
When will I get a grill? ;_;
Reading A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man BTW

Non-virgins will never understand Kant no matter how hard they try.

>Wasting time on Jung when you could be reading more Freud and Lacan
Nietzsche is a good read though.

Attached: GohanYou.jpg (640x480, 22K)

I want to understand Kant. Where do I start my journey, breh?

It's from a softcore porn album. Can someone link it please?

>Schopenhauer's philosophy is based on premises that are easily falsifiable
Which particular premises are you referring to, smart guy?

good, good. Got some nice jobs lined up at mc'ds.

Reading Jung is not a waste of time. Understanding his work is essential to breaking down personal mental barriers.

You probably didn't get to the murder scene. I thought that as well, but the writing in that scene was so exquisite it made me rethink. I felt like I was there.

He's a fucking boring autist.

What's the point of reading that book? The program is well known, isn't it?

sauce??

Reading right now:
Attachment and Loss - John Bowlby
American Gods - Neil Gaiman
Norse Mythology - Neil Gaiman
Meditations - Marcus Aurelius

Recently finished:
Tietam Brown - Mick Foley (6/10)
Jeg Lober - Anders Legarth Schmidt (9/10) (Danish)
The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (9/10) (English translation)
Min Usynlige Son - Esben Kjær (4/10) (Danish)
The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood (8/10)

Been reading a lot of Freud and Bowlby lately. I'm writing my bachelor's thesis on bereavement and child loss in Danish literature.

Has anyone read:
The Barbell Prescription: Strength Training for Life After 40 - Jonathan Sullivan & Andy Baker

I liked the Starting Strength and Practical Programming books, and I'm at a loss of what to read next when it comes to literature on strength. I do coaching in our uni gym, so any literature relevant for coaching fat uni kids would be appreciated.

Start with Hume. A Treatise of Human Nature and An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding. Then move on to Kant with his 3 Critiques beginning with his Critique of Pure Reason.

Attached: Kant3Critiques.png (308x308, 61K)

Seneca's letters to Lucilius. It's alright.

Buy it. It's great. It will teach you a lot about the mechanics and how to properly apply the program. It's valuable both for yourself and if you ever need to coach.

The book is much more than the program. It explains the logic behind, the mechanics and even delves into physics.

Reading Jung is not a waste of time, my point is that it is a waste of time if you have not already read Freud and Lacan (who are both superior to Jung).

That girl is 26 year old, faggot

Probably because they kant

Shogun
History of corruption in peru
Some mindfulness book for dummies

Reading the Book of Five Rings by Musashi Miyamoto. Not sure how learning to swing a long sword will help me become successful in life but at least I'll be ready if I'm ever challenged to a duel on the street.

There's a crazy muslim girl on my friends list that has the litany against fear on her juicy ass calves. Beyond the hypocrisy it's pretty hot.

Which particular books?

>He's a fucking boring autist.
Kant is a good candidate for the greatest mind of the last millennium. A true genius. I am not as dogmatic as I might sound though, if you have any argument against him, I might be convinced.

Probably because they are kants.

You guys are reading some good stuff. Keep up the good work.

Goat.
Meme-tier, but if it helps you actually do shit in your life, then I guess it's worth it.
Goat
Really good, but obviously a grind at some parts. Do you know of the theory that it's a gnostic book?
How is it? I haven't thought about him in a long time. I read I am Legend in high school and liked it a lot.
That's a pretty good book, but I hate that cover.
Which Kierkegaard are you reading?
Henry James is great. Ever read The Abasement of the Northmores?
Goat
Yeah, The Waves is a much more accessible but thorough take on what it feels like the more extreme modernist books like FW and Sound and the Fury were going for. I know that's not exactly correct, but whatever. I still prefer Faulkner to Woolf, though. And Ulysess is probably the best of all of those books in that realm.
Goat
I'd like to read IJ one day, but I feel like there is so much more I want to read. His collection, Oblivion, is pretty great. Schopenhauer is a great writer, even if you don't believe in his theories. The way he weaves mythology and literature into his philosophy can be beautiful.
Goat
That was my first Hemingway. I remember really liking it. These days, I think I prefer his short stories.
What are you reading for Jewish history? VALIS is fun.

Alright, I'm done. This was a lazy, useless post. I've been trying to get back into math/physics, so I miss lit.

But will it help me get laid?

shit was real good

Attached: the-traitor-baru-cormorant-1.jpg (1200x1200, 102K)

Here comes:
Slavoj Žižek - Violence
August Strindberg - Male Monologues
Emil Cioran - The Trouble With Being Born
Charles Bukowski - More Notes of a Dirty Old Man
Rabbe Enckell - Poems and Essays
Irving Stone - Lust for Life

This, along with some good ol Horus Heresy.

Attached: 9780307405166.jpg (477x720, 55K)

Good choices. Strindberg has some of the best Scandinavian literature.
