>"everyone has their own special talents"
>"it just takes longer for others to find their talent"
>tfw 25 yr old with no special talent
>"everyone has their own special talents"
>"it just takes longer for others to find their talent"
>tfw 25 yr old with no special talent
that's just another bullshit excuse to make millennials feel like a bunch of special snowflakes
most people are average and will never achieve anything out of the ordinary
same
it's really sad and it bothers me since how can I get a woman if I'm a boring loser?
the self awareness is killing me, my obsession with women with no way to fulfill it because why would they want me, I'm not even attractive, I'm not talented.
I feel like crying or sobbing I just have to pretend i'm happy and not think about it I guess
anyway idk what the answer is op, it's already fucking over for our youth and I have nothing to be proud of
really I'm just keeping my head above water so I don't an hero or end up homeless
anyway, clock is ticking.
>blank flank adult
Do you guys believe talents can be genetic? I'm somewhat decent at drawing, but I don't ever really find enjoyment in it. My dad, my grandpa, and my great grandpa were all artists
just calling myself an adult is weird, I don't feel like one, I think it was living with my controlling mother for all my life and not being able to escape or not doing enough to
deep down I really hate myself
Yeah, I'm sure artism runs in your family.
Maybe. Great grandpa used to draw planes and trains all the time before he croaked. Grandpa was an art teacher bit never seen his art. Dad knows how to draw but also hates it. I mostly just doodle
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK THIS STUPID LIFE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I don't know what is worse, to not have any talent or to have one you dislike and don't even care about.
>why would they want me, I'm not even attractive, I'm not talented.
this is where i've been at since i've been 10 years old and i'm 28 now. i use to think i was at least funny and nice, but reality set in that i'm actually an asshat and people only really laughed out of pity.
if i'm not funny, my personality sucks, i'm ugly, i'm short, i have a small dick, i don't do anything interesting, and i only have an average amount of money, realistically why would anyone ever want to be attracted to me? what do i offer? i bring nothing, and can only drag others down with me.
The worst part is knowing you have a talent for something, and getting the talent recognized by others, but not doing anything with it because you simply don't care and it gives you no enjoyment.
There's no such thing as special talent. You have to work hard to be extremely good at something.
if that was the case slaves would be the most talented people on earth
>24, min. wage earner ... former programmer
>j-just study at university and get a good job!
>0 interests in anything at all
>too depressed to do anything
Well, if it were that EASY to have an interest where I could study and be a professional at.. I WOULD.
Well they are good at being slaves.
People who know how to draw drew a lot of shit before it became presentable. People who are good at playing guitar are good because they spent a lot of time playing guitar. You're not born knowing how to do something.
I'm sure they could pick cotton ten times faster than you can.
and what have you tried doing? I thought i was like that too until i started programming, i am pretty good
Don't worry, most people are not talented in any way.
>had an interest in programming since I was 13
>get somewhat good at it
>decided to study IT at uni
>did well during the first 2 years
>somehow fucked up a lot of exams during my 3rd year
>fuck it, what's the point of anything
>about to fail just before I was supposed to graduate
I wish I had any control over my mental state
I play a lot of video games and I'm still absolute fucking shit at them, so I'm pretty sure time spent != good.
One thing that sucks is that if your talent is in one of the arts or humanities and you aren't top 10% material then you're never going to be able to feed yourself doing it. So the thing you're best at might still not be good enough.
Some people need more time than others.
I've been playing since I've been 3. I'm 28 now. I think I'm past the point where I should be at least competent at something.
You're not a magical talking horse, you don't have to have a "special talent."
Do you think your local garbage man takes out the trash because he's especially good at it? Or that a driven advertising agent wouldn't do just as well as a corporate manager or any other job with the same skill set.
Not everyone can be an Einstein or a Tesla. The vast majority of us are mediocracies, people with special, unique talents are exceptions to the norm.
Dumb blank flanked Glimmer Nigger.
Which games do you play? I'm not very good currently either, but when I used to play shooters every breathing moment of my life, and I'm talking 12+ hours a day, I was really good. But it's lost now.
well if you aren't in top 10% it seems you arent all that talented, right?
>tfw diagnosed with ASD so only know my special interests
There is a need of active effort to become better. Time spent in something doesn't automatically makes you good at it.
I say it because my cousin played games competitively during some time, and he activelly had to train to improve, like everyone else who competes.
With video games you have to do a lot of analysis to be really fucking good. Simply no-lifeing it improves some of your mechnical skills but if you really want to git gud you have to hold a microscope to your mistakes and find what you need to improve upon. At least like 30% of your time with the game should be focused on analysis, otherwise you will never really understand why what works works and what doesn't doesnt, on a grand scale. The other 70% should be focused on practicing what you've learned to an autistic degree.
The way I see it, if you learn something faster than you do everything else and that's what you're best at then it's your special talent. I'm also saying that being in the 60/70/80 percentile isn't good enough for the arts but it does mean you stand out. The problem is there's always someone better and there's a LOT of people so being in the top 10% of people is extremely rare no matter what the talent is.
