Walk into store

>walk into store
>ask if they're hiring

>"I can't just hire any guy off the street, sorry."

FUCK

>that boomer who thinks you can just give the manager a firm handshake to get hired
You gotta take the manager out on a date and let them get to know you before they commit to anything these days.

Meaning what, you have no driver's license and no work history?

>he fell for the boomer dad memes
Just try it again, champ.

Attached: le handshake man.jpg (211x300, 12K)

I literally got a job by doing this, walked up and asked for a job and he said yes lol

Just shoot him if you're a burger

t. man who did this in 1970's

>Parents don't believe me that the city we live in has no fucking work
>Despite friends, family, and even the fucking GOVERNMENT telling them otherwise
>Apply at all the places they tell me to apply
>Walk in off the street, apply in person, apply online, everything
>They tell me I just need to keep applying at the same place over and over until the boss just GIVES ME A JOB to get me off his back

I'm so tired of this.

Attached: 1461488167930.gif (500x383, 474K)

no work history but I do have photo ID

kek iktf

I did manage to score a temp job last summer where I stood in one place for 8 hours and used only my left arm, which ended up giving me insane muscle strains in just my left side of my body, and not to mention that my brain must have atrophied from repeating the same movement 8000 (literally) times per day without being able to talk to or think about anything else.

Id rather burn myself alive than go back to work there for 7.20 an hour

>Parents don't believe me that the city we live in has no fucking work

Are you in Yurip somewhere? South America?

A city in Australia with super high unemployment. Actually, I was at a dinner with my parents and some family friends recently, and the kids of that family (in their mid twenties) were lamenting how hard it is to find work as well. One of them said "there's absolutely nothing in this city" and it seemed to roll straight off the boomers' backs.

There are waiting lists for volunteer work here. Going through volunteer agencies to even do shit nobody wants to do like work unpaid at nursing homes takes months. It's great.

Fucking hell, and with no prior experience NEETs like me would be screwed in your city..

Apparently if you bother someone enough they create a job. Someone call the Secretary of Labor, we've cracked the job creation problem.

Even having experience means you're fucked. Retail and service jobs like stacking shelves and manning cash registers often ask for 6+ months of experience, though they like 2+ years.

That really needs to be made illegal.

>implying it being illegal would stop it
it's like how in the UK it's illegal to not hire someone just because they have a criminal record, but good fucking luck getting anyone to actually follow that rule

>Dad tells me his boomer story of being hired off the street while looking like shit all the time
>Apply everywhere for over a year
>Apply online
>Go to employment offices
>Parents think I am lazy
>Get hired
>Manager has it out for me and is an OCD freak
>Get fired
>Another year passes
>Get a call for interview
>A bunch of dumb bitches ask me questions not relating to me work like hobbies
>needles to say I don't get the job
>Parents think I am lazy for not going out for a job
>My mom gets me a job at a grocery store cause she knows the owner
>The owner asks me some straight forward questions in under a minute and I get the job
>Only part time but I am making some money
>8 months later
>My mom wants me to get another job
>Say I only got this job cause she knows the owner
>Both my Parents say "LOL NO"
>It's not just me, all my friends are having a hard time with the job market, even a girl I know is having a difficult time

I fucking hate boomers. They say that they know times change but they don't fucking adapt their world views to it but act like they do.

WAIT

take my hand

Attached: 1528517800595.jpg (640x475, 37K)

My honest recommendation to anyone whose desperate for any type of employment is go try and work at a Panera Bread.
>Don't drug test
>Attrition rate for employees is 6 months so they're nearly in constant need for new employees
>Jobs is cancer so people who have a future elsewhere aren't as hirable as those they might be able to rope in for long-term

Downside is be prepared for
>Working twice as hard as a McDick's at less pay
>The place to be run like by the most disorganized retard whose a bro or Adolf Hitler and you're a Jew (no inbetween)
>Customers to be uppity beyond reason
>Less job security than McDick's (They'll fire you for borderline any reason)
>Everyone you work with to be the most basic humans who are degenerate beyond reason due to the no testing policy
>Never to get more than 25-30 hours per week

I doubt your parents are boomers but okay

They don't understand learned helplessness. If you keep trying and this is what you get you stop trying.

I got a shit busser job for one month because of nepotism, I wouldn't have otherwise. The job market is pretty tight right now. I wish my dad would send me to Guangzhou (a city in China).

>let manager of local McDonald's use me like a fuck toy
>sorry user your handshake afterwards wasn't firm enough I can't hire you
F U C K

>in store buying some stuff
>ask if they're hiring
>they say yeah, lots of spots, go apply online
>go to the website
>not even one job posting

Attached: 1527959543159.jpg (1080x810, 104K)

would going to the manager and asking what job positions are available be a legitimately better alternative?

If you have nothing to put on your resume, trying for a speech skill check is your only chance.

Assuming the manager told him to go online it's pretty much code for "please fuck off we don't want you"

user you didn't give him a firm handshake

>be me
>apply at many places
>have no experience
>they say they're looking for experience
>calmly ask how i'm supposed to have experience if no one will let me get it
>get various responses, mostly like "not our problem", "i dunno", and "best of luck"
>say thank you for your time and consideration
>try to break their hand with my final handshake

Attached: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.jpg (690x690, 190K)

>"I do need experience. That's why I'm here; I figured your buisness would give the best."

>"not our problem"
I can't get a job because I don't have experience because I can't get a job because I don't have experience because I can't get a job because I don't have experience because I can't get a job because I don't have experience, and etc...

Everyone gets their jobs from friends and family where I live. Both of my siblings got their first paid jobs because my parents knew people, but my parents have never extended that courtesy to me and insist that my siblings got their jobs through effort alone and not nepotism.

I worked a temp job in a factory.

It was painful standing 12 hours a day but just when it started to not feel as bad, then they canceled my assignment. I worked 4 days, but the assignment was supposed to last 3 months. The factory was full of Mexicans except for like 2 other white dudes. I was the only white dude without tats.

Your parents are either shunning you, or are extremy stupid.

This is when you lie about shit or use other things and bend the truth a little to describe them as experience.
Yes. "Fake it until you make it" can be used in many different ways.

tried that many times, at least once in those exact words probably.
same response.
the people on the other side of that desk (in most places) don't give one fraction of an iota of a fuck about you as a human. you are another cog, another field in the accounting software.
if you don't tick off the right boxes, before or after hire, they'll toss you aside until they can find the one that will.
there are always more people out there with more experience and charisma and connections than you. always.
and they likely need a job, too.

after all, it's tough out there, champ.

Attached: kittiesarentsposedtosmelllikecigrettes.jpg (960x852, 56K)

I think it's a mixture of both. They don't want to ruin their livelihoods/reputation by getting me involved in things, but they also genuinely, 100% believe that my siblings got as far as they did without any "real" help. What's funny is they'll point to extended family as examples of self-made young people, but when you actually ask them how they got to where they are it's always the same answer of "lol someone in my family got me a job doing construction/IT/management and now I am set" you know?

>>calmly ask how i'm supposed to have experience if no one will let me get it
>>get various responses, mostly like "not our problem", "i dunno", and "best of luck"

this is why you need a resume.

you need it so you can pretend you have experience. thats pretty much the whole point of even having one.

just use a bunch of big words to explain something that is actually fucking useless and you will get hired vs the other guy who just walked in and tried asking for a job.

what the hell do you even put on a resume?
what is it supposed to look like? especially if you don't have any past job experience?

why can't we address the situation that much of the workforce gets into the positions they're in by lying to their prospective employer
why can't we address the situation that much of the employers know that most of their prospective employees are lying to them to get their positions and are okay with that

why is this accepted and okay and encouraged

Life has to be the only MMO where you have to cheat to even play. What a shitty game.

>normie 1: bro just make some shit up, have a family member pretend they hired you XD
>normie 2: it's just a job, everybody lies on their resume, just make some stuff up, champ!

my resume

>graduated HS in 08
>neet for 10 fucking years
>now trying to get job

How the fuck do I explain this?

>30
>have worthless BA
>last job was at a Dominos Pizza
>Manager started complaining about stupid stuff like not making enough eye contact and smelling bad (I only had one shirt) even though customers tipped me and some of the other employees like me
>Pretty sure she was just trying to get rid of me because this fat mexican girl that works there wanted to get her friends and family jobs
>Rage quit since I'm only 2 weeks in. I'm not taking this shit for months on end for near minimum wage..
>Dump my uniform on the floor and call her a fat white trash bitch and also say that her tattoo is ugly.
>LOL. The truth hurts more than anything. She instantly went into "Im calling the cops" mode.
>Tell her to go ahead and to make sure she mails me my last check because Im never coming back because I dont want to see her stupid face again.
>Search her name on google when I get home.
>Shes been arrested for felony theft and I'mm pretty sure she has a half black kid. There's also an old myspace pic of her wearing a ankle bracelet.

I m getting really sick of having trashy bosses. Why the hell are these types of people managing anything? I should be the freaking manager. I went to university and graduated. I dont have a criminal record. Customers generally like me if they arent insane middle aged ladies.

Exactly. I'm in the same position and have no clue what to say or do.

this.
mod support is pretty shit and we need so many patches for so many things. fucking lazy devs.
fuck these microtransactions too.
and why the shit do i get penalized if i try to find Quit in the menus

>Why the hell are these types of people managing anything?
>I should be the freaking manager. I went to university and graduated.
It's sickening, yet odd that these people are further into something than robots who may actually do the job normally or even better.

Because if you quit, the devs lose a potential source of income.

>every place requires online applications
>every online application requires a 45min-1.5hour personality test
>said test will automatically put your application into the trash bin without a notification

>be many many years ago
>be working at a dollar general
>get into management
>they institute a personality test
>it's in person
>after test is complete I have to enter it into the phone
>computer tells me if they failed or not
>if they fail they are 100% ineligible for hiring for one year
>no matter how much they re apply
>I cheat the test for the workers to pass it
>even if I'm not interested in hiring them
>so they have a chance elsewhere

I absolutely hate modern hiring practices.

i keep sending feedback reports about how i don't want to take part in the player economy but i guess nobody checks that email anymore, i dunno

>dad went from mopping floors to a line work supervisor because the manager thought he worked hard
fucking boomers

Attached: memetending.jpg (500x500, 45K)

Hey so as someone who wants to get a job now, I was never told anything about resumes by anyone.
Literally anything. Like, I asssuumme its a piece of paper that lists your work and credentials right? Do i just hand that to them (if so when/where/etc) or do I mail or what the fuck?
Seriously all this schooling was worthless if I cant even figure out what to do with it.

just be yourself lol you'll get the job!

it's better this way user, computers can't make judgments based on biases*
*unless programmed into them

Attached: image.jpg (986x555, 109K)

>if they fail they are 100% ineligible for hiring for one year
>no matter how much they re apply
>I cheat the test for the workers to pass it
>even if I'm not interested in hiring them
>so they have a chance elsewhere
you let them pass so they get some work experience potentially for another place?
doing god's work, user.

There are websites with resume templates, tutorials, and tips.
You just include it with the application when you turn it in.

>Seriously all this schooling was worthless if I cant even figure out what to do with it.
>tfw they "teach" you so much, but not how to do things like this
why do schools even exist?

Thats the exact feel i have whenever i look back on it desu. Pisses me off.

Fuck you and fuck anyone who works in food business. I stopped eating out because of the cretins that work there.

to be the treadmill for standardized testing (read: budget concerns) and shaping you to fit into preformed holes to perpetuate the cycle so that those at the top can amass more possessions and influence.

Attached: image.png (468x345, 207K)

That's unironically the reason why suicide is illegal

Exactly. This is the correct line of thought.

>12 years of government education
>followed by 4-6 of college
>get out and are told you need experience to be hired
>if you are unqualified for any position after 16-18 years of education
>then what was the point of any of it?

for the US at least, learning about the textbook business can be very eye opening.

>could not get a job for over a year until I convinced my boomer dad to literally force people under him to hire me
being a no experience neet had no effect on the job and I do it just as good if not better than the rest of the people there, it took maybe a week to learn it

Attached: 1527697562220.png (256x256, 51K)

>personality tests
Are you bullshitting, user? If you aren't that's spoopy. What constitutes a failure in these tests? Someone who isn't a brainwashed subservient goy?

that and the (((student loan))) business. (((they))) have drilled it into boomer's heads that you need a college education to wash dishes so these boomers push their grand kids into college when a lot of these people have no reason to be there besides to put themselves into debt for life.

t. someone who's grandmother basically forced him to get a history degree.

Only that's exactly how I got my job. It's only like $20 an hour but it really is that easy if you aren't too picky.

>history degree

Good, you can use it to academically validate yourself when you author a history book about how boomers ruined the west.

Of course not. Most of them are adminitrated by that company kronos. I think they also do payroll.

Go ahead and apply for a random job right now. After you enter all of the usual information you'll have ot start filling out dozens of questions like:

Sometime things people say make me angry:
Strongly Disagree
Disagree
Neutral
Agree
Strongly Agree

You might think they are easy to logic out and fill in what they want to hear. But sometimes choosing the "strongly" options remove points form your invisible outcome become having "strong" feelings is a negative in a daily worker.

and american society now has that lie as integral belief, influencing countless other things, and it becomes a race to the bottom in many areas and is partially responsible for many issues that are only making the house of cards hopefully fall a little quicker

Next time pick a more realistic wage for your bait. Making $20 an hour after 'just walking in and asking' is fucking absurd.

>It's only like $20 an hour
>only

I just don't understand it at this point. So much suffering and crushed human souls just so shlomo can have one more car he probably wont ever drive. What's the point of having so much money you physically can't spend it all in your lifetime? At that point it's just points on a screen. The only explanation i can think of is that it's some kind of sick game and the actual goal is the crushing of human souls. The more souls crushed the better. I'm imagining a rich old fuck like Warren Buffet sitting in a semi lit room in front of those stock/banking computers with tons of gourmet food in front of him eating that and railing coke as he watches his bank account numbers and stocks rise by thousands every second, laughing and talking to himself "that's another soul crushed. I'm gonna run out of them at this rate!'

I'm in the same situation, kinda.
My dad LITERALLY works at human resources management and i even sent him my resume, he said it was nice, but i got LITERALLY nothing
We are not totally close, but we like each other, the only thing he tells me is "it's rough out there son". Yeah i fucking know that dad, i'm a fucking economics major, i know my country is going through recession, holy fuck

I hope i get some shit job so i can have some money and then i can apply myself to earn more certificates and then *maybe* get a job in a bank or something, the system is rigged from the start

>become having "strong" feelings is a negative in a daily worker.
As I suspected. They only want meek cucks who will bootlick and brownnose to keep their shitty minimum wage job. Fuck this gay earth.

Well, I mean, it's good experience to put on a resume for a slightly better job right? Gotta start somewhere.

>I stopped eating out because of the cretins that work there

Good for you, but you should have stopped eating out because it is freaking bad for you and expensive. There's garbage people in every industry cup cake.

Yep, they want someone to get shat on and still smile at the person who did it.

Welcome to minimum wage where you deal with customers.

same user here, i 100% agree with you, and i hate, in a very visceral way, that there is zero chance that this shit will change any time soon.
but get ready for Norman to reply with some
>spoken like a true lazy retard poorfag neet
tier shit probably

How do they expect honest people to make honest money, if you have to be dishonest to get it?

>How do they expect honest people to make honest money
They don't

they literally don't, user.
we are not a feature, we are a bug.
some of them would probably say that nepotism is honest, or continue to be out of touch and keep on about how you just gotta shake hands with your bootstraps, champ, but they're both full of shit and what's worse, they probably know it.

There are garbage people in every industry, but in most industries it's mostly ok people with some bad people inbetween. In food business, it's practically only garbage people with sometimes one good, poor soul stuck between them.

and then
>you can always get a job in food service champ they'll take anyone
yeah let's just expand the manners and methods of corruption some more and make sure we crush anything that may have slipped through the cracks

>first job, cash register at a pharmacy/general store
>my sister recommends me for the job as she's quitting it
>get in because my sister was a good worker

>second job, farmhand on a hay farm
>more or less conscripted by my dad who was cutting the hay
>not allowed to quit, even though it sucked
>got really strong/tough over those summers

>third job, busboy/waiter
>also got in because of my sister who worked there after she quit after the pharmacy
>kinda sucked at it at first but worked really hard to be kind of decent relative to the boss's high standards

>4th job, intern at a tech startup started by students in town who won a contest
>they were having a conversation at the restaurant i worked at
>but in telling them about how i do amateur webdev on my own
>they invite me to come by, end up working the summer with them in addition to waiting tables

>5th job ski lift operator
>dropped out of school because needed a break, called up the ski resort and got an interview
>guy walked in and said he was gonna write a number on a piece of paper, and I could take it or leave it as my wage
>took it
>terrible fucking work, got hazed by all the losers who were working there for more than one winter making the same shit wage i was getting

This is a fact. I ""worked"" for a chef in highschool for extra credits, and he said my position was "scum on the hull of a boat". Needless to say, I'll never work in that industry. I'd rather get cancer from drilling oil.

Actually, getting entry level jobs is more difficult than getting post secondary education jobs, so, seeing as to how most in the USA have at least 50 grand per year, twenty dollars is a little lower than average pay for second ed grads historically.

Of which is why they say min wage in murika ought to be fifteen per hour, as it's currently inhumane with how low hours one gets, and how low pay, with grueling work often. You can't live an American lifestyle with an entry level job, an actual entry is not worth having.

>got hazed
what happened user

Was it ever different? It seems like even when you go back several hundrer years the wageslavery system still existed. Serfdom was how most people in Europe survived back in the day. Really, it seems like wherever there is civilization individual lives mean nothing and all that matters is perpetuating the system no matter the cost.

burger here
while i agree that minimum wage could be higher and would rather explore other alternatives instead anyway, the thing about lifestyle and entry level jobs that nobody likes to talk about is that if everyone would stop trying to move to the major urban areas, if people stop with the "hurr useless flyover lol" shit and just all agree that spreading the fuck out could be a good idea, there is more than enough land and opportunity for much of the country to have a decent life at an entry level wage.
but most of us have been trained to think that if you don't live in one of the few big metros, then you should be trying to get there.

>Really, it seems like wherever there is civilization individual lives mean nothing and all that matters is perpetuating the system no matter the cost.
And you know how those "civilizations" end?
With it crumbling or a revolt (doesn't have to be gommunisd :DDD revolt though)

this is basically the issue.
there are too many people for the systems we currently have so we're mired in self destructive shit because of weak human tendencies and wills.

fucking boomers wanting to give up farm life that their granddads had and decided to move to the city thinking it will forever be better.

Who's dumb enough to not realize that pay is only higher in metro because rent and such is too?

Everyone knows that.

The few big cities are for rich business men to compete to see who can have the best business card, whilst feeling glad their classmates lost and they won, all those that live there that weren't meant to compete so well.

If not rich the rich look down on you in the city*

All those that failed to compete are meant to have not been there.

Though, ghetto niggers try to beat the system and that's why gangsters live in rich cities too, mafia prohibition drama ripple effect notwithstanding*

TO add to what I posted.

Nevermind though.

The issue in my opinion is kikes not wanting to share profits.

i think the issue of major metros existing because of the need for proximity of some rich people to other rich people (simplification obviously, i mean industry stuff too) could be alleviated by development of better mass transit and cargo transit.
no i don't know the best option for this, i'm not a goddamn transportation engineer because i don't have the experience to get the experience to be one.
but now you've gone and made this post and made me another kind of sad.

At least back then you could bandito the fuck out and live in the mountains if you wanted to. Your life might be much shittier, but you could actually 100% blame only yourself for how things were for you -- because now YOU had control.

Lots of people did this, too. It's where tales of trolls, goblins and other monsters come from; they're people who checked out of serfdom and into banditry/hermitry. The tales were passed onto children, to scare them into conforming and contributing to society.

>walk into store
>ask if they're hiring
>get told to apply online
>apply online
>get rejection letter two weeks later
>repeat for every store in town

>It's where tales of trolls, goblins and other monsters come from; they're people who checked out of serfdom and into banditry/hermitry.
>The tales were passed onto children, to scare them into conforming and contributing to society.
Are they actually? Never thought of it that way.
