If you could have one of these things for free, which would it be?
1000 chickens, or 1000 dollars?
chickens make better company, and they taste better.
ill take the chickens user
What the fuck am I going to feasibly do with 1000 chickens
I don't have the infrastructure to support 1000 chickens; dead or alive.
I suppose I could sell 40-50 chickens for $1000 and still have some chickens left to do as I please, but I need some space to store these things.
How am i going to take care of 1000 chickens
The chickens are worth far more than $1000, gimme them chickens boy.
I think it's important to know the stipulations around how you obtain the chickens. Maybe if it was like one of those lotto dealies where you just get a chicken a week for life, that'd be nice. A thousand chickens at once? Most of them would run off or something before making any use of them.
Imagine being given 1000 chickens at once.
I mean, to be actually GIVEN them, would mean they'd have to be TRANSPORTED to you. There would be several trucks, cages, drivers, gas costs, location drop point (unless you think several trucks could fit in your driveway)
just a mess all together
You'd feasibly make more money investing 1000 dollars in something than trying to scrounge any worth out of a huge stock of chickens and eggs.
1000 chickens. I'd lock them downstairs and drop them food from the chimney. I'd use my window to get outside instead of the doors. Once a week a heavily armored entry team would be sent in to retrieve the eggs.
I would honestly get the 1000 chickens, but where the fuck am I going to put them and keep them?
I also can't sell them quick because I have very poor social skills.
I can't even eat them all because I'd need a really big stomach for it.
But $1000 is barely considered a decent amount of useful money anymore.
I don't even think I can get a used car for that amount.
>I don't even think I can get a used car for that amount.
Where I live, you can, but it's a fairly nowhere place. Also consider that you'd have to refrigerate the chickens you haven't eaten yet. I can't imagine the cost for something like that.
>obtain 1000 chickens
>take out a loan, pay someone to hold on to the chickens
>sell the chickens for far greater than $1000
>pay off the loan
This.
>Baby chicks cost $1-$5 each, depending on a variety of factors including the sex (females are more expensive than males) and how rare the breed. Started pullets (young hens that have just started laying eggs) should cost $15-$25 each.
Since we're talking about chickens i could get back $3000 to $5000 if I were able to find someone to buy them. So I would choose the chickens.
Yeah but would you be able to keep those chicks alive and well for the time it would take you to sell them?
hmm, we have a pretty big backyard, and our dogs are old as shit. Cats would be a problem though since i wouldn't have anywhere to store them. but we have plenty of seed and shit
1000 Dollars, then invest it into stocks. Less time and energy.
I live in Kansas, so selling the chickens would be way easy. I'd take the chickens and sell them for $5-$10. I have no idea how much a chicken is worth, but as long as I sell it for $2, I'd be fine.
chicken feed is dirt cheap and any farm supplier near you will be selling it
Chickens. So I sell the chickens for a $3-5 price and then invest in infrastructure to house whatever chickens I have left. I let them lay eggs and breed, and there you go I am now starting my chicken farming empire
To everyone buying chickens, your greentexts will be this way
>Be me
>choose 1000 chickens over 1000$
>bird flu outbreak
>government snaps my chicken in half by the neck
>mfw
