How does one go about getting a job in Japan??
I know as foreigner your options are limited to teaching English or working in some kind of STEM.
But how does one go about finding work, getting housing etc in the first place?

Where the FUCK do I find a girl like this?
going to japan isnt like going to anime
quit fooling yourself
>Man, I sure want a job so bad!
>I know, I'll go ask in the board that's infested with jobless, aimless NEET's who've never worked in their lives
This is going on the interview, user.
Idk, but tell me when you find out because so far they only exist in anime.
What is OP pic related then?
The best way is to work for a big multinational company and ask for an internal transfer to Japan.
I guess she's an exception
Japan just announced that they're taking in 50,000 guest workers. I assume it's for agricultural jobs and other menial labor. You have to be fluent in Japanese in order to qualify, though.
Well, tell us your skills user. Do you even know how to speak and write in nihongo? If you don't have a Jap job you can't get a Jap visa. As simple as that. And it has to be a good enough job that a corporation is willing to put in the time to sponsor you. That is it, no exceptions
That's a pretty generous number give the consistent opposition towards migrants in their workforce.
What kind of work are they expecting out of these 50K fluent Japanese speakers?
Im currently working on my Japanese, although ive been told its not really necessary for working in japan
bumpalicious
relativius
>I assume it's for agricultural jobs and other menial labor
Can you read? Also, they're probably expecting temporary workers who are not a monumental inconvenience on the native citizens, and who are smart/considerate enough to comply and get the fuck out when their time is up. Requiring a foreigner to know the native language is a great way to weed out all the types of subhuman trash we get here in the U.S.
You dont. They are highly xenophobic and will always hire a local first.
>I know as foreigner your options are limited to teaching English or working in some kind of STEM.
I dont get why you are asking then?
Although I did see a white girl working at a 7 11 when I was there. Not a great life I am sure.
>finding place to live
You cant buy land as foreigner, so you have to rent, a lot of landlords wont like you, but you find a place to rent like anywhere else, use a service.
Working in japan sucks mate. They treat their own workers terrible, they will treat you the same or worse. Expect to be stonewalled, lied to, yelled at, and work long long long hours,
Your best hope is to work for a foreign firm that keeps foreign firm 8 hour days. Btw if you live within Tokyo remember you have to pay an extra tax. Btw most jobs pay LESS, a computer programmer there will get paid peanuts next to a programmer in America, for example
Thailand, sea
>Requiring a foreigner to know the native language is a great way to weed out all the types of subhuman trash we get here in the U.S.
Isn't this a bit unrealistic?
What kind of foreigner is going to be fluent in Japanese, and be willing to do some shitty temp manual labor job?
Chinese perhaps?
You vastly underestimate the number of people in the world. 50,000 people is absolutely nothing when you're a developed country like Japan. I would guess people from Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines etc will be interested. China not so much. But I have no doubt there are hundreds of thousands who speak Japanese simply by coincidence, growing up near a harbor with lots of Japanese business or things like that
Chinese is the biggest forgin group in japan.
Hahaha fuck you
I am like the only foreigner in my organization of like 3000 people and because of that I am very popular among the women in upper management
At the moment they are organizing a lunch to get to know me better and they are literary talking like anime characters in the email thread they have made for it
No shit, but I assume the Japanese are importing 50,000 new foreigners to supplement the ones they already have.
Yeah, 50K new chinese.
My understanding is you only had to pass N4 JLPT, which you could learn in a month
Japan is actully trying to get people to leave work early, and they wont
>Others, like the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, are simply turning off the lights by around 8 p.m. to make people leave office
>Leasing company Orix plans to Leasing company Orix plans to offer up to 50,000 yen for employees who use at least five vacation days in a row.
>almost a quarter of companies had employees who had worked more than 80 hours of overtime in a month
>talking like anime characters in the email thread they have made for it
that's hella cute
You are full of shit, any women in upper management in japan would be like 50+ years old
have you not met 50+ year old women
they love that shit
They are like 40-45 yeah but they look like 30 because they go to the fucking myoin all day erry day
Ah cool. You should still fuck them. Sorry for doubting you. Get them to invite you to a drinking party after work at some isukaika, the rest will be easy
He's still full of shit. I'm willing to bet he can't post proof he's in japan or work for a company.
You'll find a god in every golden cloister.
> and if you're lucky then the gods a she.
(Oregano)
>Cant even spell Izakaya
The point was not that the women wanted to have lunch with me, it was that they act like anime girls, I go out drinking with younger girls plenty though
Responding to
Nothing wrong with extra puss though. Sorry for misspelling izakaya. I havent slept in 24 hours, and my nihongo is trash desu. Please fuck your boss. Okii white piggu dick
pic is undeniable proof that I am a salary man in Japan
My departments boss is a man though
>I know as foreigner your options are limited to teaching English or working in some kind of STEM.
They aren't limited to those. There's even entrepeneurs in Japan. J-List is run by an American.
>You dont.
Maybe you should stop getting all your information from Jow Forums.
>They are highly xenophobic and will always hire a local first.
It's not xenophobic to have your country's best interests in mind.
>Working in japan sucks mate
Idc
Wrking in america is worse
good s o y goy
how does the "self-respecting" man survive with no income?
MY HEAD IS VERY LARGE I AM SILLY
Most robots are parasites that live off their parents. Some are autistic enough to get disability.
canadian welfare and subsidized housing.
canada is paradise compared to that suicide shithole of japan
that was me until i married the government and moved out of my parents 11 years ago, and you don't need to be disabled :)
parents will die/kick them out.
disability, well no thanks i'd rather be a wageslave than be fucked in my head.
>canadian welfare and subsidized housing
ah i see, "welfare", i.e. just enough spare change to keep you alive, meaning you have to resort to trash food and minimum cost entertainment like TV and the internet, wanting literally anything more would mean no money.
>paradise
keep telling yourself that
>just enough spare change to keep you alive
nah wagie, in 6 months i saved up for a 1500$ gamer PC, 1/4 of my cheque goes to rent, my own apartment :) , another 1/4 to bills, and the rest of for beer and pizza.
whole year is like vacation, no stress, no worries, go out to park for a walk, chill and relax like cats do it. never been happier in my life, wageslavery never again.
keep telling yourself that you're not a brainwashed cattle being fattened for slaughter :)
you must be a pretty massive retard to get that much. i'll take my healthiness, thanks.
There's a good luck that his pic is a more accurate depiction of a NEET than and other delusion.
not at all, if you do some research you'll see that anyone can get welfare in socialist Quebec if they show proof of no income.
No need to pretend to be a retard ;) wink wink
my my the jew has done some work on ya mind wagie, it's sad when zombies believe that slavery is freedom.
>anyone can get welfare
sure massive retard, go back to reading aristotle and playing the piano
in Quebec, yes, it's a citizens right.
welcome to modern civilization, slave.
my condolences for whatever shithole you live in.
I'm not trying to defend wageslaves you fags. Just look at this board and you'll see that NEET life leads more to be a lazy, frustrated, self-hating retard that some kind of independant intellectual.

>But anti-poverty groups say the new law will cut up to $224 from their $648 monthly income if they fail to participate in the program after being on welfare for three months.
the jew can literally throw you on the street and make you starve in the snap of a finger
Jow Forums is not a single person, and it's probably only angry wagie larping as a "depressed neet" 24/7 to make himself feel better.
me personally i've never been happier since i quit slavery 11 years ago :)
lol typical angry wagies threaths, been like this for 10 years i read shit like that, all bark like little bitches. nothing changed and nothing will ever change.
your jew boss will cut you off first before the gov does, gov is more stable ;)
You sound insecure as fuck about your condition, man. I've said it, I don't defend wageslaves but some of them actually like what they do. What have you done in the last 11 years ?
suuure :) "insecure" haha what a delusional projecting wage bitch.
>What have you done in the last 11 years ?
living for my own pleasure and entertainment :)
while you're in misery, self hurt, and denial, doing your best to live up to society's expectations.
yawwwwn i'm bored...its been a pleasure shitting on you wagies but now its time for breakfast and fortnight :)
see ya
I don't work so you're the one projecting, actually. I just say that you sound more and more insecure. Your posts reads like an overcompensating frustrated child.
How have you funded your living? Who feeds and clothes you?
The only really important thing is to find a job, since you can only stay there for 3 months as a tourist housing won't be an issue. Most of the time you can find a cheap sharehouse in tokyo.
As an example i currently do live in a sharehouse near mita station with a rent of about 510 euros but in right in the middle of tokyo, if you're willing to live farther you can even find one room appartement.
Your best bet to find a job is to learn the langage even if you only know the very basics that is already a major plus.
Then it depends on the company choice, entering in a traditional japanese company such as yomiuri / ANN is near impossible...
International companies will be a much easier market to tap into and the easiest being local companies ( ie : irish bars, french food markets, cultural centers...).
The key really is networking, this is the most important thing as an expat in asia in general.
Follow the entrepreneurs scene go to local networking event from your country or international ones. You need to meet people who work there and share their experience / tips.
Tldr : Langage + networking + International companies is the easiest way.
You can also teach but the japanese do ask for more and more proficiency in japanese so act quick ! Private teaching course can help you a lot too !
If you're willing to look for a job anywhere in japan that's the best, not only looking in tokyo but everywhere and not being afraid to go to the countryside is best.
Countryside isn't as advanced as the rest so you can safely bet on teaching there.
I'm currently writing my Master's thesis about japanese organization culture, been staying there for a while now and from what i've oberved it totally possible to land a job but you have to be willing to come here for months ( you ain't gonna find a job in weeks ) learn japanese ( basics like i want that, i like that, my name is, do that...) and be willing to move.
Not sure if i explained correctly everything but feel free to ask.
I forgot this : If you don't have a diploma don't even try.
Bachelor is the BARE minimum, Master / MBA is best.
How long did it take you to be fluent ? Currently on my second year of learning, might go there next month. Isn't it too cringe to interact with others when you have a N3 level ?
I'm not fluent at all, i did not even finish the first genki book.
As long as its with the general population and not in a work context people will be very forgiving for your Japanese fluency and will actually encourage you a lot, this opens many doors that were close to the pure english conversation.
But it is quite awkward in a work environnement, its better to stick to english and learn key japanese words that relates to your field ( like KPIs)
Alright, thank you. Good luck with your thesis.
why the fuck do you even want to go Japan?
Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong are superior options in every way.
>nearly no one speaks english
>those who can just speak don't want to.
I'll be leaving this place in 2 months, but fuck this country is stuffy, I felt more socially isolated here than back home.
>>those who can just speak don't want to.
Hong Kong is pretty awesome, i can vouch for this. Also HK is a "hub" wich means cheap flight to anywhere in asia.
Wanna go to japan ? Its cheap
Want to spend time enjoying the beach in philippines ? Its even cheaper !
Want to do some esport in korea ? also cheap !
Also its generally a much accessible place than japan. But i guess its less "special" since you will feel like everybody is in HK already.
