Last Podcast on the Left isn't a politics podcast, but I can see why you'd think that given it has "on the left" in it's name. It's edutainment, which is popular with people these days. If you want a "story telling" podcast like Sleepycast, you're gonna have to do some digging because they're few and far between. Also, it's hard to find one that stays alive and has a sense of humor that matches yours. People run out of stories and shit to talk about.
I very cautiously recommended Let Me Tell You About, but I'm warning you now that you will probably not like it.

My current go-to podcast. I've known the creator for a decade, and i've been following this since he first posted it. We barely talk anymore. Feels bad man. I wish he would understand. I wish I could fit into his circle now. They mostly talk about video games and cartoons and shit.

if you like guided by voices then check out a podcast called 'self inflicted aural nostalgia'. the guy discusses each of their albums in depth, starting from their first album and going right through their discog.
don't always agree with his opinions, but it's still an excellent podcast

You wouldn't enjoy anything I listen to but my favorites are Cum Town, Legion of Skanks, Real Ass Podcast, You Know What Dude, and The Bonfire, the last one is actually a radio show but someone thankfully uploaded to YouTube.
There are some others I listen to on GASDigital and Riotcast as well as earwolf, used to listen to a lot more back when I used an iPhone.
