How do I train lateral deltoids pain free? I have some kind of an injury on my left deltoid that prevents me from doing lateral raises. Yesterday I tried DB press for the lateral delt but that hurt, too. The right side is completely fine.
I can't continue like this, my lateral delts are really lagging behind. And no, OHP is not enough.
Have you tried the lateral deltoid machine? I tried it a few weeks ago to see how I liked it but did not feel the same burn, so something to consider.

Are you retarded?

I have the same thing, lat flies are too bad for me but upright rows trigger me bad, try the bent arm version of the lat fly? Just remember to twist and lift the dumbells. Many dont move the db a lot and that does nothing. Maybe try upright row or the way i work around mine is a single handed db upright row. Seems to work well

Resistance band face pulls. Make sure you’re pulling the band apart as you bring it in

Lat delt you fucking idiot

Most likely you fucked up your rotator cuff with lateral raises or terrible benching form.
Wait for it to heal and then do barbell OHP and fix your bench technique (i.e. narrow grip and tuck your elbows).

It's chronic and was there before I started lifting years ago.
Will try.

Haven't seen one in the gyms of my city. Thanks, though. I really like the rear delt fly machine.
That's actually one of the best lateral deltoid exercises there is. As Bret Contreras does it, he pulls the band apart while pulling it to his face so it should be called a band face pull apart.
You maybe have some muscle imbalance. I had the same thing on my shoulder, it was mainly lack of proper upward rotation of scapula, train mid and low traps, and serratus anterior muscles. Low weights to build the mind muscle pathways and then also try some rotator cuff work.

Don't mind me, just dropping a sauce for my fellow anons

What an absolute qt, its unfair such beauty can exist and I should be aware of it

>barbell OHP >lateral delts maybe think a sec before posting whatever malformed though enters your mind
Parker Parker
>train mid and low traps This is exactly what I'm focusing on right now. I do lots of scapular retraction and as much rear delt flies as I can without pain. There certainly is muscular imbalance but there is an injury, too.
back parallel to ground, neutral grip and move db's towards the sky

try out different angles for lateral raises. My left shoulder also gets some kind of pain due to a previous impingement but it eases when I do it slighly different.
Additionally, Facepulls with bands + Behind the neck press if you can do it pain free and your anatomy allows

Have you tried mobility exercises before working out? I used to have a lot of shoulder pain before I started doing more dynamic warm ups before hand.
