Started Creatine last year and now I have a bald spot
Increases glycogen which boosts peak output. Great for peaking, but it doesn't actually give you more muscle, just gives you more energy so you lift slightly heavier and think you did. Glycogen shows up as lean tissue on DEXA scans and the like hence why studies show LBM increase; realistically, you'll lose the few pounds of glycogen/water weight when you stop and regain it if you begin again.

Creatine is literally the only supplement proven to measurably increase your lifting ability if you take it according to instructions (easiest is 5g/day).
Everything else is pointless if you're eating a good diet, but creatine definitely gives you a boost and speeds up progress.
Also if you're getting enough sleep then preworkout can also help you push noticeably harder. Huge requirement is sleep though. If you aren't sleeping enough then preworkout is going to do the opposite and over-caffeinate an exhausted body which weakens lifting.
