Man, I can't figure out what the fuck to eat anymore. I used to swim and cycle a lot, a little jogging and just eat normal people food, mostly home cooking and I was 'alright' with my jiggly body.

Then I went on an autistic Jow Forums binge and vanished into intermittent fasting, modified protein sparing fast, cycling yohimbine, ephedrine and caffeine alongside squats, dead, bench and ohp. I got pretty fucking juicy and ripped and it was really unsustainable in the long run eating more supplements than food rattling with pills and nursing injuries from big compounds 3-5 times a week.

Last few years I've been happy to fall back into 'strong dad bod' mode and just eat mostly normally. I went vegetarian in January and I felt like shit. Grew some tits, looked pregnant most of the time. Just come back from holiday where I ate meat most days and feel amazing, sex drive through the roof, motivated, great mood. Except I feel like I'm shitting sand/grit and I want to tear my ass hole apart.

Clearly I've yet to find a suitable diet and lifestyle to maintain a healthy body. Working to extremes works, but for short periods of time. I'd like to be a mostly vegetarian, was hoping that I'd lean out a little, get better skin, hair, bit more motivated to be athletic, but it seems like it doesn't agree with me, even if I try and do it 'right'.

I posted about this a few days ago and Jow Forums was just in denial about it, even when I showed sources.

I have no sympathy for mega fatties because they let themselves get there in the first place, but losing weight is definitely not as simple as CICO when dieting lowers your base metabolic rate and makes you feel weak and lethargic all the time. Keto and fasting are very promising for fatties because they actually train your body to use fat as fuel instead of relying on the same shitty foods that spike insulin.

i lost 170 pounds and saw consistent weight loss all the way down. i don't believe in adaptive thermogenesis at all, unless you're actually starving to death.

most "plateaus" and breaks in weight loss are due to inaccurate calorie counting, excess sodium consumption, water retention, etc. but i don't believe for a second that the body just says "no, i'm not gonna burn ANY more fat".

But still, if you lower your calorie count but keep eating sugary foods throughout the day you won't lose weight. Even if you are at a caloric deficit, your body can't access fat stores when there's a lot of insulin in circulation so instead it will find other ways to conserve energy like producing less heat and suppressing the immune system. Fatties need to find ways to get their hormones under control to maximize fat loss.

That probably just means that despite being fat, your hormonal situation wasn't fucked up. Some fat people are insulin resistant, which is a game changer.
