You say that like it's obvious but the vast majority of people don't actually do those things. And that's not the only thing Peterson says, it's a very very small and over simplified sample.

Quite a few things...probably the most important one was about trying new things and addiction. How the brain creates and bolsters associative pathways that make behavior, for example if you drink a lot, and you always do it in your room, it is physically speaking harder for you to not drink if you're in your room than elsewhere. At this point you think oh, so I need to change my environment to change my habits, but that's both implausible and it doesn't work, since the associations are actually quite deep and interwoven with all kinds of behaviors. Instead you need to create new counter associations, which is possible but hard. But a change of environment is still useful for lots of reasons anyway like, and this is one of the mind blowing things he said imo, not all of your DNA is active, and different parts of you are "active" depending on where you live, your genetic expression would literally change if you moved to the Sahara desert for example (because we evolved different gene expressions for different climates) and this would affect how you think. Now, that isn't directly useful right, since no-one is moving to the Sahara tomorrow...but it's engaging to know something that fundamental and it suggests and encourages that you're capable of all kinds of change you don't realize, and that there's deeper physiological reasons for your behavior.
