Does anyone find Canada is actually more racist towards minorities than the US is? I don't know if it's because I was in a conservative part of Canada (Edmonton, Alberta) and I'm in the liberal part of the US (Southern California).
In Canada I applied for jobs online at tons of fast food and retail places, and never ever got even a call back from any of the places I've applied to. It's not just because it's the summer, I've applied at different times. I have 3 years of volunteering experience and no work experience, but these are entry level positions. I feel like I'm being discriminated because of my Korean name. When I go to those retail and fast food places, I can't help but get the vibe that these businesses are only hiring TFWs or people of their own race.
Now in the US, I used the same resume, same name, same volunteer experience; just the address and phone number is different. I'm actually getting call backs for interviews at *most* of the places I've applied to. I did not end up hearing back after the interviews, but I did get a job offer for an Amazon warehouse.
My dad had the same experience. He has an undergraduate degree from South Korea, a master's degree from the US, and tons of experience. He's a networking engineer. In Canada he could only find low paying short-term contract jobs, and even then he always got laid off before the term ended. He has worked in all the big cities; Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto... Now in the US, he's got a permanent 100k+ (before tax) job at one of the biggest telcos and actually worked for more than a year now.
These reasons got me seriously questioning if living in Canada is even worthwhile anymore. I was born in the US and thus have citizenship, so I can sponsor my family to get them permanent residence. It shouldn't be too difficult since we all have Canadian citizenship.
No op you are correct. Welcome to politics 101: say one thing to get the votes, do another to get the money. Canadians additionally happen to be two-faced traitorous snakes, every last one of them. The meme that they're friendly? Just a facade. They hate open conflict but will ruin anyone who so much as looked at them funny.

I live in Edm, AB too and I can agree with this.
Jose Mitchell
Canada's economy is a tiny shitstain compared the Unite States', of course there are going to be more opportunities south of the border.
Alexander Cruz
If you're not Indian Pakistani or Chinese good fucking luck getting a job ever

i don't care

I don't know. Knew one korean girl say that she was treated better in USA than canada but it's not enough to make a generalization.
Thomas Clark
Canada has a pretty terrible economy and even more regulations than California Korean user.
I also live in SoCal, and shitty jobs are plentiful, but a few years back I couldn't find work anywhere.
Bentley Murphy
Trump voting (mostly) white boi here. Most of the US would consider me racist. I have read lots of the hard-right websites, anyway. American white racists tend to be fans of The Bell Curve. We have a high opinion of East Asians; in fact many of us prefer East Asians to white proles. Canada appears to be today about where California, Oregon, and Idaho were in 1900. They are afraid you are going to invade and get their daughters hooked on opium, or some horseshit like that. In America, our racists aren't that stupid. We've known Asians for over a century. We're a little annoyed you've started voting for the faggots lately but we at least know you are good co-workers.
Aiden Rodriguez
>tfw im white what the fuck do i do?
Samuel Walker
Koreans get treated like shit in Canada. >Everyone thinks you're just an Asian >Chinks hate on you for being Korean >SEA people hate on you for being Korean
Meanwhile in the US >Korean war >Koreatown >Koreatown roofies so white nationalists love us
Angel Hall
You're fucked. Unless you know someone already in the business, or go into trades, good luck getting a job ever. You can find fellow cucked people on reddit
Jonathan Moore
No there are just less jobs in Canada due to a higher minimum wage and tons of regulations. They didn't hire you because they didn't think the 1000 government approved unions hounding them for more gibs was worth it. Basically in Canada you have a harder time getting a job, not because of the racists but because of the regulations implemented by the anti racist government.
Jonathan Long
Oh fuck yeah, we thought your roofie snipers were the shit. That wasn't so much our WNs though, that was more our gun nuts. Koreans could get hella redneck pussy just by open carrying.
Jeremiah Perry
So in other words they hire TFWs over citizens?
John King
Fast food places in Canada are going to hire white trash or middle aged immigrants with no other choices.
Chase Walker
please tell me I can at least move to St. Albert without getting cucked
Robert Young
yeah but not for reasons of race. I business cant survive unless it turns a profit, the government forces them to do certain actions to turn a profit. This is especially prevalent in small businesses. Can you really blame Jim for hiring little Timmy who will work for 13.15 and who wants to work 8-16 hours over Yang who demands 15 dollars an hour and a minimum of a thirty hour work week (with paid vacation and sick days of course) Literally has fuck all to do with race and more to do with loopholes of stupid barriers put in place by a nanny state and champagne socialist unions
Chase Russell
So that's why they asked me how many hours max I'm willing to work...
Austin Edwards
literally yes. Unions constantly advocate for high hour work weeks but if they know you are flexible (in your min and max hours) then they are more likely to hire you. My number 1 advice for finding a job in Canada is flexibility. The more flexible you are the more they can avoid union and gubberment shoving their nose where it doesn't belong.
Adrian Gray
Well, only if I could ever tell that to the employer in the face... I never get even an interview!
Leo Smith
Have you ever went to mcdonalds on hiring day? they literally hold interviews immediately and anyone can walk in and take one. Not trying to be a dick just listing options. If anyone here wants to find a job i always recommend mcdonalds for that reason. I got a job at 16 back when my resume was dogsitting.
Anthony Sanders
>non white moves to big Canadian (((liberal))) cities You know that every community is segregated for a reason right? Non-sjw college campus fucks know what the Chinese and "refugees" are actually up to in the bigger cities and want no part of it. I'd say move to the Atlantic but we've been dealing with our own surplus of (((immigration))) lately so stay the fuck out please. The last thing we need on top of the quebecois taking over are fucking chinks and shitskins
Oliver James
Yeah McDonald's is the only retail place that ever gave me an interview. Didn't pass
Parker Brown
Edmonton is far from liberal.
I actually had a Chinese female friend (international student) who was scared of the Syrian refugees though.
Grayson Hall
Jew brackets were there for a reason friend. And rightfully so.
Jace Nguyen
Try another McDonald's. The first one I tried rejected me, now I'm a manager at a different one.
Anthony Fisher
yes alberta is a shithole user this shouldn't be news to you
Andrew Torres
sucks man, well i hope america is treating you nice anyway. Always wanted to move their myself

It's literally lower paying than China.
Charles Gomez
Yeah he did jobs that are barely relatable to his field, like installing wifi in hospitals rofl
Dylan Ortiz
It's a lot of reasons. For one, the US has a much larger economy which also happens to be doing much better than Canada's, meaning that every opening will have less competition. This alone can mean that employers' need for your labour will override much of the discriminatory impulse that American employers may have. So while it isn't enough to say that one country is more prejudiced than the other, name discrimination exists here, at least at the resume stage of hiring. It's easy enough to test for given that blind resume-sending studies can control for all variables by making the fake resumes identical other than their names. Also, as you alluded to, Canada and the US are large countries with the accompanying cultural differences usually engendered by geographic distances.
Levi Gutierrez
Yawn. Uni's out OP. All the students are flooding the market looking for wage slave jobs. The markets saturated. The economies in the shiter. The only place that's really hiring is GOA jobs. Even that's super competitive.
I'm white and nobody wants to hire me in Alberta. Fucking eh.
Brandon Russell
t. Vancouver protester
Dominic Bell
There are literally no jobs user. All the immigrants and newfies took all the jobs.
Colton Perez
I literally get so triggered when I go to Superstore, Walmart, McDonald's, Tim Hortons, etc and the employees there are literally only pajeets! How is this even legal?
Alexander Mitchell
Fuck Canada. Offbrand America where the weak don't get shot to make way for the strong.
Ayden Brooks
The government made it legal years ago and they pay part of their wages if there on visas or a refugee. It's a real piss off but nothing will change. Just try to find a white only work place but it's getting tougher everyday look for trades as a laborer thats your best bet.
Gabriel Williams
>in order to live in Canada you gotta be blue collar Fuck lmao
