iirc there was a time SWAT was at the wrong house, and a lady got spooked when she saw some guy with a rifle looking through her window. She called the police and holed herself up in her room. Cops cane and saw the SWAT guys, then SWAT realized they got the wrong house, it was actually the next house over.

you are fooled to think the justice system is this perfect fucking machine that if you don't admit anything and don't speak you are fine as long as the "system" supports it.
the the case is that the cops valuate how much you have to hide by much more normal terms like you refusing to even speak to them while you are in your head thinking these are some kind of arrest machines you are dealing with.

Exactly. I live in a shitty neighborhood so the cops knock on my door every now and then looking for some nigger I've never met before.

I step outside my apartment, show them ID and (nicely but firmly) demand to know exactly what this is about. If they are dicks and don't want to explain anything I'll smile, tell them to come back with a warrant but 99% of the time they cough up enough info for me to know that whatever it is they're looking for, I've got nothing to do with it.

Mistakes happen...The apartment I moved into was previously occupied by some spic that liked to sell Xanax so they actually had a warrant and tried to haul me in. I stayed calm, joked with them a bit and they fucked off eventually.

Cops are human and have just as many hormones/chemicals/emotions running through their brains as you do. You be a dick, they'll be a dick. You make it obvious you have nothing to do with whatever the fuck they're looking for, they tend to go away pretty quickly.

If I get into a car accident, he always tells me to call him first before the police so he can help clear things with the other party
If I am ever arrested or detained he told me more or less the same, to wait for them to contact him
