You can start by doing them against a wall, that's the easiest variation. Then do them at an angle, with hands on a table, or a bed or whatever and then the classic one but from the knees. Now you should be comfortable with the proper form which is hands directly under shoulders, arms bending straight under you with elbows near your torso. Also, engage your abs as well as glutes to keep a straight body and tilt ever so slightly forward on your toes so that you actually work out the triceps too. The push up is very adaptable, depending on what muscles you want to emphasize, but you'll get there in time, don't worry about them right now. Remember that form is the most important thing as you're better off doing 5 perfect ones than 50 with bad form, and it allows progress to be made this way. Do 2-3 sets of however many you're comfortable doing +1 or 2 more, push hard on those last ones and you'll be able to do more and more as time goes on. Good luck bro

This is what every fat person has told me they'll *do*

What you should do is build a habit by doing about 5-10 push ups in intervals based on some activity you regularly do (that isn't eating). I listen to a lot of music so I started doing 10 per album and ended up doing somewhere around 40-70 a day. If you don't do anything regularly enough then just do 5-10 at different points during the day. Way easier and reasonable to space out your push ups rather than doing it to failure once and calling it quits.

As for form, it's pic related. You want to be on your toes, have your body in a straight line, have your arms not too far away from your chest, and go down until your chest almost hits the ground then go back up until your elbow fully extend back to original position.

Try to do it everyday, expect some abdominal and arm soreness at the start (if painful rest until it goes away), and add 2-5 more push ups later in the intervals whenever you're comfortable

can confirm. I'm still a fatty ding dongs and used to pull this shit. But now I just do sets of 15-20 whenever I get the chance or on a whim. I do about 5-6 sets a day. Usually when I die during vidya I'll drop down and do a set. Shit works.
