No it's boring
I like the first two movies and the first third of the third one
Everything after was shit except for KOTOR I and Darth Bane Novels
While I do prefer Xenoblade in regards to sci fi, Star Wars is pretty good.
All the characters are normalfags, but I do like the worldbuilding and lore and shit. Especially in the EU, canon SW just doesn't compare.
It's ok. I never really go into it
I only like the one with ewoks
I like video games for it.
Never watched a star wars film. I know the basic elements like Darth Vader being the MC's dad, lightsabers, and space battles and lasers and shit but don't know anything of the actual story.
What order should I watch the movies in? I read that the chronilogical order of movies is all backwards
It goes IV, V, VI (the original trilogy); I, II, III (the prequel trilogy); and then VII, VIII, and soon to be IX (the sequel trilogy, but this trilogy is complete SJW garbage so don't bother). Then there's a couple of anthology films focused on certain characters and events (Rogue One, Han Solo, and I think there's an Obi-Wan movie). That's about all as the movies go. There's also a ton of other shit that's considered 'Canon', or the official story as approved by Lucas, and a fuckton of other shit that's considered 'Legends', which is basically material that expanded the universe and lore that was previously recognized as canon but isn't anymore.
episodes 2 and 3 because they came out when i was a kid
old saga is boring as shit
new saga is straight sjw indoctrinaction shit and didn't bother to watch any of them
I still consider the eu cannon because fuck Disney every time they buy some franchise they always have to ruin the most interesting parts because it does not apeal to a larger audience
Just curious.
Is the new saga actually some SJW garbage and a shitty movie or do you guys just hate it because it has a nigger, a roastie and a gook in starring roles?
Are they actually bad movies?
it was made by disney so what do you think
I thought Zootopia was alright
>Are they actually bad movies?
they are
i saw episode seven with an oppen mind believing it could be a good seque. I like movies regardless of my bias, i don't give a fuck if they are socially acceptablel. I just got bored, didn'tnt caught in the action. The bad guy was so unnapealing, the girl had 0 charisma. And he nigger wasn't nor funny nor badass nor cool. It was all about trying to rememorate old movies but with "diverse charachters.
7 is just a new hope.
8 has an extremely pointless part, where this new lady with purple hair is the leader of the rebels and absolutely refuses to tell anybody under her command anything about her plan for absolutely no reason, causing finn to go on a random adventure to a random planet with a new random asian chick that ultimately ends in failure but wastes time talking about classism and slavery of animals. so half the movie is pointless. the rest is gorgeous but could be way more interesting than it was.
Yes. My favorite is character is Capt. Jean Luc Picard.
Empire was the best star wars movie had the best ending, original trilogy still the best. Prequel movies are bad and should of just been one big ass movie about anakin becoming vader like they do now with spin offs but better. I still like the light saber fight though between obi-wan and anakin good eye candy. Disney Star Wars is shit and has been ruined when the new trilogy could of have been good. Instead I get SJW pandering beyond belief and SHIT writing.
OT is GOAT
The rest are all shit, especially the 4 Jizzney War ones.
I only like 4 & 5
The other ones are not bad at all though.
I Mostly like the vast universe and the adventure part of it.
Yeah. I didn't like the last jedi though, but I was pleasantly surprised with solo.
I loved the OT as a kid. I dressed up as SW characters for halloween and had lightsaber fights with my brothers and neighbors everyday. When I was 9 years old Lucas started re-releasing them in theatres with all of his wonky CGI spliced in and even back then at that age, I could feel that something was very wrong about it. Pretty much everything Star Wars related since then has been an absolute shitshow(except a select few videogames from the late 90s/early 2000s). What really pisses me off is that said "Special editions" with the CGI are now considered the standard editions, and they haven't even released the original theatrical versions since the 1995 black box VHS set(pic related). An entire generation of Star Wars fans have grown up seeing the shitty butchered versions and many probably aren't even aware of it which is a real shame. A great fan project called the "Despecialized editions" exists for autists like me, but 99.9% of new viewers aren't going to take the trouble to seek them out on their first viewing.
Anyway, I have been on a boycott of the franchise for over a decade. I refuse to give it another dollar until they release the original unaltered theatrical releases on Blu-ray or even DVD. From what I've heard, I haven't missed much from the recent Disney abominations.
the movies are ok but I don't understand how people are obsessed with them, there's not much lore and the settings are bland.
>not much lore
OH boy
>settings are bland
Not in 1977 they weren't
EU ain't canon, deal with it. it's all just splitting hairs form the original IP. I don't need to know what wookies eat and where they shit, that isn't a fleshed out setting.
every planet is one biome, it's retarded
EU ain't canon but the old republic mmo is
I liked Episode One the most. I'm being completely sincere... it's my favorite.
Just the first two. Am more then happy to see Disney burn it to the ground.
Episode 1 was hated at the time, but its grown on me over the years. Episode 2 was still a pile of garbage though.
Not even that. That's the only thing in the EU that's still active, but it's built on previous EU lore that's not canon anymore, so it can't be canon either.
this. warhammer 40k is better
No and I've never seen a single movie, which apparently makes me a freak of nature or at least warrents shocked looks and audible gasps.
I think the series is very overrated and the fans are a cult. I hate how people unironically call it the original trilogy without context as if it's the end all be all to trilogies. I hate parents that make it a mission to ruin there kids lives by naming them after a lol so obscure Star Wars reference. I hate families that make it a mission to watch every film year after year as if it will some how change added on to when they watch every film before each new release. I hate how people gauge your worth as a human based on if you liked Empire Strikes Back. Fuck Star Wars. Fuck the Fans. I'm so glad Disney is running your crappy unoriginal postmodern donkey shite into the ground
Yeah, 2 was really bad, but was probably better than 7 & 8. The prequels were simply a saga of untapped potential; episode one had the right balance of classic Star Warsiness and freshness, but episode two dropped the ball, while episode three tried to pick things back up but sadly was just a slightly better episode two with memes added. Original trilogy was good but episode six came out almost a decade before my time so I never experienced the hype/nostalgia.
The thing with that redeems the prequel trilogy in my mind is that, for all it's pitfalls, it was still the product of 1 man's vision. The new Disney stuff is written by a team of like 20 writers who focus-group the shit of every single line and detail and the result is something overly corporate and lacking the organic feeling the first 6 movies had.
It's called the "original trilogy" cause there are like 3 trilogies. I don't think it has anything to do with being the end all of trilogies or whatever
Exactly. The sequel trilogy is honestly not even Star Wars. It just sucks because the visual effects are exactly what I wanted in a new Star Wars (shitty CG aliens not included), but everything else is so bad.
When I say out of context I mean when Star Wars isn't being talked about. A co worker might say "have you seen the OT, dude?" A reviewer might go "yea this scene in Spiderman reminded me of the OT".
It's also like how people call it "Raiders" instead of "Indiana Jones:Raiders of the Lost Ark"
This nigga right here knows his shit. The unaltered theatrical releases are the only true Star Wars in my mind
Never liked the movies except for A New Hope, but the later seasons of The Clone Wars were great.
The series self is somehow less interesting than everything else that has to do with it, but it's still pretty solid filmmaking.
