i leave for army boot in a month
any advice for a pathetic weakling robot like myself?

I work retail and my hands get 3x dirtier

Be loud asf, do your best to not stand out. For good or bad.

>joining army
>11B
>can barely pass pt test
Yep, gonna be all I can be. Probably made fun of. But it beats the hell out of working at the Golden arches. Free housing, Healthcare, and a job to be relatively proud of. Right now is the time to troop up, with the surge they are taking anyone with a beating pulse.

did you watch any private pyles an hero?

Just don't be urself. Just follow others, don't stand out in the crowd unless you know what the fuck you are doing. Best way is to not be the best or the worst, average is the way to go. If the people in your squad/group/whatever do something retarded, just follow them.
Source: Spent a year in the army because of conscription.

>can barely pass pt test
yeah you aren't alone buddy
i cant pass it either. i suck at sit ups and push ups and running especially.
i just pray to god that they train you to be strong and shit before they test you on that stuff

>tfw you're pvt pyle

What's the military like?

navy vet, ill answer questions if asked
you people need to seriously get in shape before going especially if 11b. You need to go rasp if you want to have any fun in the mil otherwise youll be sweeping rocks.
greatly depends.

Attached: 1529038466376.jpg (1080x1350, 189K)

good luck user, at least you're young

Got into reserve on june 1st. Been having difficulties adapting back into civvy life,
I dont fully remember what i was like before it all.
Not a burger tho.

Attached: graham.jpg (620x413, 29K)

>you people need to seriously get in shape before going
well fuck. i guess im screwed
im not going as 11b though nor did I plan on being a ranger (thats just not a realistic goal for me to achieve, at least in my current state of fitness) so i guess we'll just see how things go

how much time till you ship? what MOS?

6 weeks
25u

I am a skeleton right now (6'2" at 154lbs), how do I bulk up for the army?
I am currently NEET since dropping out a few months ago. My parents are intolerable and unreasonable people. I have little work experience, so employment seems unlikely. Serving your country seems more dignified than a low-paying wagecuck job. The military seems like a good way out of my shitty situation.

>non Burg reserves
What cunt are you from user? Which service did you go into?

>how do I bulk up for the army?
whole milk and peanutbutter
which one were you? How long till ship and what mos?
6 weeks it enough time. Height and weight? And trust me you want to push yourself and go to rasp if you can. At least in time.

oddly similar situation here user
im also skelly but about a foot shorter than you and weigh a lot less.
parents also intolerable and unreasonable
been a NEET ever since high school

Go to Jow Forums, read the sticky, then gtfo. But for real eat big and lift weights so you don't get bullied out of the army. It is better than wagecucking. All the benefits, travel and experience pays off

11B
Literally the easiest job I've ever had, I barely even show up to work outside of morning PT.

Attached: 1529000528574.jpg (600x600, 289K)

im 5'4 and about 130 pounds
im not physically strong or fit at all

>which one were you?
I am not OP
>How long till ship and what mos?
I haven't been to a recruitment office yet, I need to get to at least 175lbs before I go.

11B vet here. Y'all don'twant to go in to basic not being able to pass a pt test. If you don't want to end up doing stupid shit the whole time you need to be good enough to qualify for schools, and that means being in shape and ready to learn. Also, being the platoon fat-body makes you stand out, which you don't want in basic.

I was a grunt in 3/8 from 2008-12. Where are you stationed at? Any deployments on the horizon?

Attached: 1411721086.jpg (900x481, 30K)

im not even fat. im skelly. i just cant do situps or push ups to save my life
but i'll heed your warnings. i was hoping I'd get strong during basic but it looks like i need to go in already strong

ok well time to start.
Ok what MOS are you looking at?
pushups arent even really a test of strength. Its just one of those things you need to do to get used to.

Attached: 1529351956426.jpg (1288x3200, 710K)

>i was hoping I'd get strong during basic

This is a common misconception. You will gain some cardio endurance, but don't expect to go in a skelly and come out jacked.

Fortunately since your thin and not fat you'll have an easier time acclimating. Start eating healthy and a lot to gain mass. Start exercising regularly, at least running and body weight stuff. It'll make your life soooo much easier in the military if you don't need to worry about the physical part

>Ok what MOS are you looking at?
Armored. Tank crewman, preferably with the possibility of promotion to tank commander.

You don't need to be strong, but be strong enough to pass the PT test at least.

As an 11B you will be going through OSUT with women now, things are a lot different than when us older guys went through, new privates show up to my unit all the time fresh from basic barely able to pass a PT test. Gone are the days of old where you were screamed at endlessly for fucking up and having the dogshit smoked out of you until you could do 100 pushups without trouble.

You aren't even allowed to do that to people in a regular Army unit, let alone the pixie-land playhouse version of the Army that is TRADOC.

Cunt: 'stonia
Service: infantry, radio/comms, tho i wanted to be a pioneer and mg.

Is it possible to be a loner while in service during your "break"

i really hope so
this is pretty much my last ditch effort at life
if this doesn't work out, honestly, i have no fucking clue what im gonna do

I for one wouldn't dirty my hands for anything less than the title of Commodore.

There are a lot of guys who don't ever leave their barracks rooms when not on duty. You'd be shocked at how close to NEETdom some soldiers are capable of reaching.

We have a dude in my platoon who basically survives off of Domino's pizza and 2 liters of Coke, listens to anime music super fucking loud, plays video games all day and never leaves his room except to get his Domino's delivery, and I'm in an infantry battalion, the supposed "Chads" of the Army.

>Is it possible to be a loner while in service during your "break"
break?
this

Could use some advice. I will be graduating uni next spring and am interested in Navy OCS but was curious if anyone has experience with it or any other officer training program. Also when should I begin my application for it?

Attached: 1526935220473.jpg (500x508, 17K)

Not me but the only friend I had turned from fat autistic virgin into some atheltic turbochad over the course of 2 years and went option 40. He was such a fat fuck he got winded going up one flight of stairs and yet somehow managed to pass the 16 mile ruck with the 65lb bag or whatever that shit is just 2 years later
how do i into such motivation

I have enlisted fags who think officer work is easy so much.

Half of the shots who say this are always on some 3 days on 3 days off work shit meanwhile I work 5-7 days a weak and 24 hours straight sometimes.

>how do i into such motivation
this is a biggie
how do you get motivation to actually give a fuck about life and exercise specifically

>never leaves his room
You guys get individual rooms while stationed?
Can foreigners sign up for service?

You just need to suck it up until you actually start seeing progress. thats the greatest feeling. Like if you can only bench 100lbs then 3 months later you can bench 150lbs, thats the best feeling. Actually seeing real progress.

Shut up you admin bitch and approve my leave.

>samehands

Australian infantry here if any ausfags have questions

>We have a dude in my platoon who basically survives off of Domino's pizza and 2 liters of Coke, listens to anime music super fucking loud, plays video games all day and never leaves his room except to get his Domino's delivery, and I'm in an infantry battalion, the supposed "Chads" of the Army.

What the fuck?
So you're saying i can sit around and play vidya AND have free trainings AND have a chance to get deployed to combat?
Where the fuck do i sign in?
Do you accept europoors?

wow thanks mr. not an army recruiter, going to sign up for infantry asap

Literally every army is like this. Just join the infantry in your home country. Ive worked with a bunch of euros on deployment

My piece of advice is don't do this. there's no jobs for tank drivers outside the army. See if you can get an MS where you can get an outside job. Heavy equipment operator, mechanic, welding, something along those lines

I spent 4 and a half years in the Army as an 11b, from 2005 to 2010. I did two year long deployments to Iraq, Kirkuk and Samarra, with the 25th ID.

I would have killed myself by now if I was a recruiter.

non serve meme dont post again

Start talking to your recruiter now.

10 year USN
seen lots of guys struggle with life after service because of stupid decisions like becoming a tanker
best of luck to you

Check out my gat guys.

great gramps but these neato thing called the gi bill pays me to go to school so idc

how's she shoot? still accurate?

Any advice for a robot getting ready for boot?
i'm not too bright and probably gonna go 03xx, gotta get in better shape

Attached: 1519094221820.png (1920x1080, 1.49M)

Fuck you. You probably are a ar15.com faggot who thinks he knows everything about guns. We actually used the laser and flashlight on every night ops, of course, you wouldn't know that, you mother fucking pogue. You cannot aim a gun in night time, with NODS on, without a laser, you fucking moron.

>forced wear
ehhhhhhhhhhhhh

How was it?
Would a typical robot zurvive such conditions?

The ACOG makes firing at the range a breeze. Very accurate.

Mine saw more wear than others. The infantry units, like mine, didn't get new M4's, but the support units got all brand new M4's. That's how the Army works.

yeah? and what do think is going to pay you more? A libarts degree and 4 years carrying a rifle or a civil engineering degree and 4 years operating a crane
pull your head out of your ass
or keep it there and I'll listen to your crying in a couple of years

>Be dad.
>Conscripted.
>1979.
>Shit fucking sucks but still holding on because hard skinned, used to be delinquent guy.
>Go to sleep one night.
>Army like bunk beds.
>Sleep on the lower one.
>Be waken up by wet shit dripping.
>"Fuck they're playing me a prank. What is this? Piss?"
>Touch it.
>"I can feel it. It's not watery, it's different. It doesn't smell."
>Dude on top of bunk bed cut his veins to an hero.
>Didn't consider gravity.
>Blood is dropping from the top to the lower bed.
>Guy's still alive-ish.
>Guy gets saved.
>Guy gets arrested because it's illegal to kill yourself when you're conscripted.
>"they didn't even send me home for a couple of days after that."

Attached: o.jpg (600x756, 177K)

>double-downing and justifying your toys help you "defeat the bad guys"

Attached: 1520554858050.jpg (345x336, 214K)

yeah what's the social climate like for robots?
how are spergs treated, and what should spergs expect going in?

no, my personality clashes way too much with the military lifestyle. attempts at structure or asserting authority piss me off really badly and make me act in underhanded ways to annoy them. i am also not a stable man.
i do like guns, camping, fishing, that kinda stuff though. if i was more docile maybe i would, maybe not. if i was i would probably be a code cracker or something since i am a mathematician

I've been fucking some army cuck's girlfriend for a while now, she recently told me he'd be deployed somewhere for a year, how full of shit is she? I thought deployments only last a couple months?

I've been thinking about joining the military, it just sucks you can't trust these hoes so I'll just have to fuck around until I leave and find some fresh legal teen to settle down with because fuck settling down with some used up 20+ year old roastie.

I didn't choose them, you mental retard. They were assigned to me.

Glad that's where our taxes go

Attached: 1519627564027.jpg (225x225, 7K)

What you doing now fellow gruntbro?

T. 03xx with 1/3 2010-2016

Army deployments can be up to 13 months. Also, you can sometimes opt to extend a deployment.

I'm an E-5 in the Air Force.

Don't ask me any questions.

Attached: gunny-straps-mission-impossible-black-strapsonly (4).jpg (480x480, 50K)

NEETing off my bitcoin gainz. When I got back from my second deployment in 2011 I put 2k into it and sold most of it off in 2013/14. I have enough money to last me another decade at least.

did you qualify with iron sights in boot camp or are you a turbo-boot? I remember 2010 was right around the time they switched from irons to RCOs

Attached: 110324-M-SB982-022_1.jpg (2004x1336, 897K)

>A libarts degree
what? whos getting a lib arts degree?

>libarts degree
>civil engineering degree

Come on cunt at least make a reasonable comparison to make your point.

How much money lasts you a decade?

I quald with iron sights in boot camp, then did an OEF pump followed by two UDPs to Oki.

Well I've been NEETing since summer 2014 and I've spent about 60k, I have over 200k banked so it should last a while longer. I also have a 40% disability rating. It's not a ton of money but it's not insignificant either.

Where did you go in Helmand? My first deployment was to Nowzad and my second was to Sangin.

Attached: SAM_0502_1.jpg (1536x864, 785K)

Saaaaalt.

I went to Garmsir. It wasn't very kinetic.

Army vet
Field Artillery
Joining was easily the worst decision of my life hands down.
Do not re-enlist. Finish your first contract, get your gi bill, and gtfo.

oh good lord >_<
what i'm trying to say is you need to think about your military time as part of your preperation for what it is that you are going to do when you get out
A lot of employers will see time in the infantry as "work experience" but nothing more
if you can pair military training and experience with a degree in a field you want to work in you'll be a lot better off
best of luck to you

My company went to Garmsir in 2012. They left for deployment weeks before I EASd. Apparently it was really gay. They only got shot at twice the entire deployment and both times it was some chucklefuck spraying an AK mag from like 600 meters away at an MRAP and then running away. On the previous two deployments we were completely foot mobile and we regularly took contact from within 100 meters. Pretty much any time we went further than 200m outside our PB we took contact.

Why? Just because you had a bad experience, doesn't mean everyone else will. I had a great experience as an 11b, even though I was exposed to combat.

65% of veterans never actually use their GI Bill or go back to school fyi

Hey nice I'm a 25U, fort Gordon AIT sucks ass btw

>what i'm trying to say is you need to think about your military time as part of your preperation for what it is that you are going to do when you get out
ya and im saying no you fucking dont
great. 90% of people alive are retards and 100% die.

>AIT sucks ass btw
oh, well thats unfortunate
as a future 25u what should I expect from AIT and the job in general?

>Just beacuse you had a bad experience doesnt mean everyone else will
No, obviously not but for the majority id say its pretty much guranteed. If youre a retard or a kid like OP who doesnt know any better than the military sounds great. But for people with higher than average IQs and some semblance of pride then its going to suck.
Theres literally countless veteran testimonies telling you joining isnt a good idea but who cares about that im sure youre different.
>11B
Woo boy
Ill be hearing you bitching non stop in the next two yrs.

Sounds like the Garmsir I remember. We were there April-November 2011. IEDs were the more prevalent threat. Small arms fire was non existent.

I'm going to make up for them. About to graduate summa cum laude and get a masters on the same GI bill.

I

And how does that invalidate what I said..?
Peak retard.

im about to join the marines oof

nice dubs, and congrats on your success with your studies. my company probably replaced the unit that replaced you guys in Garmsir. The timeline makes sense, they got there in May 2012.

Attached: 110404-M-SB982-057_1.jpg (1632x1088, 764K)

recruiters must be getting desperate to shill for the army on r9k of all places.
Most robots are too socially retarded or racked with health problems to even consider joining

Attached: Sam_813669_6267977.jpg (667x375, 45K)

You didnt invalidate what I said either you flaming faggot.

im socially retarded but i still was allowed to join
was that a good decision? no, i already regret it. but it wasnt like i had a choice anymore
i just hope the army isn't absolutely terrible to/for robots

>I had a great experience as an 11b, even though I was exposed to combat.

the difference between Marine and Army infantry right there. Army claims to have a good experience despite being in combat, whereas Marines won't be satisfied without being exposed to combat

Expect to have multiple formations on the weekends while in ait. But the job is alright, when you go out to the field you basically sit in your MATV and work on radios and shit
