"The Beautiful Ones" refers to the male mice in an experiment done by John. B Calhoun who withdrew from society and only engaged in solitary, self-centered behaviors. The experiment was an attempt to study society and the effects of population and overpopulation. Mice were introduced into an environment where they had no predators, no shortage of food, water and had ample material and space for housing, given the size of the population. The population of mice exploded, until it reached a critical mass at which point the mouse society began to break down. It began with mistreatment of the youth, inability of dominant males to maintain the defense of their territory and non-dominant males being increasingly attacked and not defending themselves, other aberrations and other non-productive behaviors (including, yes, increased occurrence of homosexual acts).

The next step in breakdown consisted of two parts; ALL males became less interested societal activities and courtship/mating with female mice. This coincided with a marked increase of aggression in female mice, including attacking and wounding male mice. This aggression increased until the final stage.

In the final stage, nearly all of the male mice in the experiment completely stopped participating in ANY form of societal engagement. They only slept, ate, drank, exercised and groomed themselves, earning the nickname "The Beautiful Ones". The mouse society went extinct shortly afterwards.

John Calhoun saw this as a metaphor for human society; that once the population reaches the point where space is no longer readily available and all social roles are fulfilled, or no longer have a set group that able to be defined to fill them, that complex social behaviors will start to break down and eventually lead to the collapse of that society.

I am not advocating for men to be fucking incels for fucks sake. I am saying that they shouldn't make it theire life's goal to just get laid, just fucking live. Once you live an interesting enough life and look aesthetic, girls come with ease.
