We've been understaffed for 2 weeks and I've been covering the shifts for 2-3 people (don't know why they called in sick). Been working 8 hour shifts 6 days a week, working on my lunch breaks, and sometimes working overtime. I have been barely eating due to stress and barley getting any sleep. I'm too tired to play videogames or socialize . I don't mind helping out, but I dislike going to work and there's only 1-2 other people there and we are responsible of taking care of dozens of customers while keeping everything stocked and clean. I've screwed up 3 orders in a row, some customers got mad, and I just got too overwhelmed that I went to back of the store to cry. It sucks being the front cashier and working drive through at the same time. I'm talking to 4 people at once and trying to bag orders for drive through/front while trying to make sure I don't screw up an order.

Unless you are a cute fembot-female
(which dont exist)
Or a cute fembot-male (passible which is rare)

Yeah man stress, would happen to anyone user.
You dont need to feel bad, tahts stress man.

You need to tell your managers and shit you cant handle that anymore, also if your in australia or free health care country, go get a medical not for stress from doctor, can get excused a few days.

I really do want a break. I did request time off, but when multiple people call in sick on the same day I can't say no when I get asked to help. Manager is stressing out too. He's doing double shifts and sometimes even working for free.

When you're busy and you find yourself starting to make mistakes you need to slow down and focus on the task at hand instead of the next one. Slowing down seems counter-intuitive but fixing mistakes takes longer than not making them in the first place.

quit your job at McCuckolds and go work at a factory. literally stress free and just as mindless of a job

So what man, I been in your position.

You have put the work in just say no, believe it or not managers can respect that

sounds like a lawsuit to me. if your manager was smart (which obv he is not) he would intentionally injure himself on the job while he was working for free

corporations would pay ANYTHING to not have that hit the court system

I'm guessing you're the guy that made the thread about this yesterday, or the day before (my sense of time is fucked) that you've only had 2 days off? I still think you should take quitting as an option, just start applying for other jobs now, why should a lowly wagie have to deal with stress like this because others aren't doing their jobs? You can say no to helping if you want, you aren't obligated to put in so much overtime and they can't make you.

My brother went through similar circumstances with lots of pressure and stress from work, he felt better by just getting another job, now he's back to his normal annoying self.

Sounds like your manager isn't doing enough too if this has been going on for 2 weeks and isn't showing any sign of stopping. Gritting his teeth and baring it won't solve the problem of having shitty employees.

Yes. same person. The stress is getting to everyone. Don't know what the manager is supposed to do about multiple people calling in or leaving early . Can't just call in the new hires without people to train them. There were even days when we had to work without a shift manager.

He's not working for free, he's on salary.

>we
Talking in the third person about yourself is a fag move and I don't mean in a homosexual way since you probably take that as a compliment

then he's even dumber than i expected and should have to work 100 hours a week by being tricked into becoming a literal wageslave and i hope you end up with the same fate

I can think of 2 things off the top of my head but I guess it depends where you work. If you're going to power through this period on willpower alone, and it's clear you are then fair play but please don't go working yourself to the bone. Try to take care of yourself and at least take some breaks so you can eat something or pass on the overtime, little things will make you feel better.

lol, y u so mad?

From when I was 14 until I was 17 I worked 20 hours a week at a restaurant, plus 40 hours of school. In my spare time I looked after my siblings who were 10 years younger than me because my mother was incapable and my dad was dead.

At work I was either cooking (which was hot, loud, very fast pace, no room for mistakes) or working out front (i have 0 people skills and don't work under stress). I used to go to the bathroom on my breaks at work, and beat myself wherever was covered by clothing. I cried a lot there too. it was my place to destress from failing school, struggling at home and being stressed at work

i wasnt trying to downplay your story btw, i totally get the stress of restaurant shit. people want their orders perfect and on time, which isnt wrong, but they dont think about the workers behind it at all
