Always thought I've been average strength since I look average

>always thought I've been average strength since I look average
>decide to try working out at home
>can't even do 5 pullups or 15 pushups
>can barely lift 10 kg dumbells

It never really occured to me how insanely weak and out of shape I am
How long before I get stronk?

Depends on how hard you work out and how well you eat. Just keep doing it and you'll get stronger. I work out at home, started off not being able to do 10 push-ups and in a few months I started doing 5x20 easily

>can barely lift 10 kg dumbells
Are you a fucking 5 year old girl?

Doesn't take long to improve. But do it properly. Read the sticky, spend a good few hours designing a plan.

>be me
>never workout ever
>135lbs at 6' even
>can leg press 550lbs, bench 165 and run at 8mph for 8mins straight
It was fun trying to keep up with my friend who has been working out 4x/week for 2yrs. Seriously though, anyone know why my body is like this? I'm beachbody ready 24/7 and I eat everything in sight

All of my family is like this so is it genetics?

Not OP but werent all anons here 12yo girls at least in the inside, or wait that was /a/ right?

Genetics plays a role, but your lifestyle is a huge one as well. If you have an active one you don't have to work out to have strength and stamina

I can lift them but can only do like 10 reps with one arms before exhaustion

>leg press

I pretty much only eat fast food. 6'2 150lbs and I can do 15 dead hang pullups in a row and like 25 push ups max and I've never stepped foot in a gym. I'm a NEET and I literally sit on my ass all day browsing this board and only occasionally do some bodyweight stuff. its literally 90% genetics I don't blame fat people for being fat.

lol nice physique user

Lol im fat and havnt been to the gym in a year and can do more than 5 pullups

Lad you realise that's way, WAY below the average an untrained person should be able to do, right?

Unironically nice body user. Eat lots of meat and protein shake, do curls and bench a few times a week, you literally only have to do those two exercises a few times a week to have a 8.5/10 body

Nah i bet most of the populace can't do a single pullup.

my point is that my body doesn't reflect my lifestyle in any way

Muscles don't necessarily mean strenght

There's plenty of skinny guys who can do over 20 pull ups and really huge looking dudes who can't even do 5

meant for him my bad

I tried to start working out at the gym a few times but I always encountered the following issues:
>overwhelmed by the amount of different exercise routines and unable to choose between them
>overwhelmed by all the "gym theory" about what to eat, how to organize your day, etc.
>constant fear of injury
>3 different meatheads with 3 different ideas on how you should do the exercise you are doing
And above all else:
>feeling completely out of place and demotivated while around normies
They spontaneously talk, laugh, exercise. These people are simply on another frequency, as if we were a different species.

That's not unusual, some people look strong before they even worked out but have average to below average strength genetics.
Me for example, I look like I could pull 210 kg for reps but I struggle with 180 kg for 2 (and sometimes I'm not even able to pull that).

The moment you lift a weight you are stronger than you were before.

Lose the mindset that you need to put up big numbers, you will hurt yourself. And the worst scum of fitness are the people who only care about "how much can you put up." Focus on doing those 5 pullups, 15 pushups for a week or two. Then try to 7 pullups and 25 pushups. If you have to contort yourself like crazy to be able to do them, then do 6 pullups and 20 pushups for a week and try again.

Do this until you can lift the universe. It's that simple, but you have to listen to your own body and not worry about anyone else.

>strength standards for the bench press, squat and deadlift reflect different levels of training such as untrained, novice and intermediate. These were developed by Lon Kilgore, a researcher at the University of the West of Scotland's Institute for Clinical Exercise and Health Science. In the U.S., the average male over the age of 20 weighs 196 pounds. Since only 29 percent of Americans weight train enough to meet recommended guidelines

Guidelines show guys who weigh more than you (from fat, not muscle) can on average do 27-32 push-ups (just below army standard). Pull-ups weren't noted but honestly, it's quite average what you're doing lad.

come on guys you're making me feel really bad for having only increased from none to 6 pullups and 12 pushups over a year and a half

Lifted for two weeks.
120kg bench
140kg squat
200kg deadlift
How do those inferior genetics feel losers?

that's pretty pathetic

I started at not being able to do a single pull up, I could do 10 after 3 months

okay so if i'm 150 lbs and the average guy in this study is 200lbs, and you say its from fat and not muscle, then the average male would be 25%= body fat. there's no way someone like that is gonna be doing 15 pullups, maybe the pushups, but those guys honestly just do have more muscle. and i'm not trying to brag about my numbers i'm just making a point that based on my diet and lifestyle I should be a fat fuck. like on a typical day I probably don't collectively walk the length of a football field

that sounds pretty good to me bro keep going!

Lifted for one week
400 kg bench
700 kg squat
900 kg deadlift

Lmao at you, genetic loser. I weigh 60 kg btw.

How'd you make the leap from zero to one though. Did you just hang around for a few minutes each day, till you developed enough strength to do one?

>I can do 15 pullups so I'm super healthy
>well below average on every other group

What I'm saying is one thing doesn't save you and you're unlikely as strong as you think.

pull up negatives

get up on a chair, hold the bar and drop down
youtube.com/watch?v=mRznU6pzez0

Assisted pullups basically. Shitter form but helps you start out.

Dude I'm not saying I'm strong why don't you get that? I'm saying that genetics is 90% of physique and that my FAR below average lifestyle doesn't reflect my strength accurately.

>my FAR below average lifestyle doesn't reflect my strength accurately.
And what I said is you have an average lifestyle based off of recent studies and you're still below the average lmao

>These people are simply on another frequency, as if we were a different species
feeling like you don't belong with fellow humans is a strong sign of assburgers

>can do like 30 pushups with nose touching minimum
>barely do 3 pull-ups
What le fug how are you doing so many pull-ups and so little pushups
Am I missing something

>can barely lift 10 kg dumbells
don't worry user, when I started doing a weekly dumbell workout 2-3 months ago I could only lift a 10kg dumbell only once before my muscle completely gave out.
I kept at it, and now it's my main weight that I lift. I can just barely manage 10 reps, but it's still progress. I recommend getting a fitness app like Fitnotes to track workouts.
