Never did. But I have adapted. Stopped listening to the black metal shite that sounds like it was recorded through a tin can and microwave. Now I just I just listen to the normie stuff like Motorhead, who aren't even metal.
>that pic
both look like faggots, but at least top one looks cool to hang around with
i totally thought that was sampson with a bottle at first and then his post transformation after metal and alcohol
When I was like 16, nowadays I think metalheads are below furries and traps.
Stop listening to metal
oregano
Definitely. I grew out of it after highschool
Found the underage metalhead
>Long hair with a side part
What was he thinking
i used to listen to korn a lot when i was a teenager, i barely listen to music at all now. did i mature or just give up liking things?
You're just a souless husk.
depends, i only like music that has a melody to it which is why i prefer bands like carcass compared to shit like infinite annihilator where they mindlessly shred their guitars with the bare minimum amount of method being put into the melody. I reckon its more people grow out of the mindless rage music and into better styles
What are you doing here, will?
/mu/ is that-a-way
Haven't seen this thread in like 4 years.
I still listen to metal sometimes, but I've moved on to a lot of other genres. I was never into the mindless screaming type of music, I only listen to metal with melody and/or good lyrics. Metalcore is okay, too.
I'd want to know what robots are listening to.
Actually, as I older I get, I listen to more and more Metal. Now with 25 I'm way more into that stuff than I was with 15.
grew out of metal when i was like 15 lmao
grow up
SUCCUMB TO THE POLYMETERS!
Forgot to mention I was listening to meshuggah. end me youtube.com
i never got into it in the first place, don't understand the appeal at all
Been a fan for the last 30 years but I am in fact a manchild.
I wanted to get them a Grammy for packaging but no one would go me.
>go me
heIp me
>furries
Are they even a thing anymore? Seems like they're making a comeback.
I don't listen to mainstream metal crap
hi ryan
miss you buddy, hope you're doing well.
>implying korn is metal
furries have been on a rapid incline for nearly a decade now, user.
Have you been living under a literal rock?
Yes but they seem to be making a comeback in the last year or so.
>I'd want to know what robots are listening to
>want
Don't you dare create a robot-tier album, Matador would throw a shit-fest.
>they seem to be making a comeback
There was never a comeback, user.
As much as you (or I) would like to deny it, they've always been a notable group on every big forum / social media website.
Oh God I just ordered that Burzum shirt >_
It's great music. I've been listening to it since forever, never had long hair or black-only clothing tho.
A few examples
Meshuggah
Cannibal Corpse
Dying Fetus
Cattle Decapitation
Behemoth
Amon Amarth
Lamb of God (at least the first albums, now they kinda suck)
Animals as Leaders
Gojira
Rings of Saturn
Archspire
Nile
Gigan
Meshuggah live is quite an experience
korn is more metal than you ever will be elitist fag
when I was 15. I like slower&softer music now.
How the fuck can anyone enjoy those bands?
I mean, I still take a spin on Catch 33 every now and then, but all those other bands are so fucking normie I can't even find anything interesting in them. Am I just too old or are those bands just too boring?
So he became some soulless onions boy? is that meant to be an improvement?
from metalcuck to s 0 y boi
what an improvement
I know name me a few bands that you like? Are more into other metal subgenres?
>onions
I meant s o y
I like it if it is melodic.
my thoughts as well
What are you former metalheads listening to? I like metal, though I'm not a metalhead.
About 17 when I realized all music is overrated crap anyway, havent listened to music on my own accord for years and prefer peaceful silence.
I just listen anime music or operas. People who usually like rock or metal in general think that it's the ultimate form of music but in fact it's just some faggot screaming and playing loud music. It has poor harmony and it's just two layers without any depth.
tldr it's for brainlets.
I like how the name of the picture says meal
We'd get along.
Oh shit that reminds me I need to hear the new Gigan. I saw them a few years ago.
this post wouldve been alright if you didnt mention anime music you utter faggot
13-17: enjoyed it, went to concerts (saw Amon Amarth and In Flames), wore the clothing, sought out new bands
18-22: didn't actively listen to it but didn't mind it, wasn't cringe, still enjoyed a few bangers, still had some metal in my phone, dropped the clothing
25+: it just gives me a fucking headache. I can't take it seriously either, even the songs I remember legitimately liking
Now I listen to electronic music without vocals or weaponized weeb trash which is even less socially acceptable than any kind of metal lol
>not listening pasodobles
>Now I listen to electronic music without vocals or weaponized weeb trash which is even less socially acceptable than any kind of metal lol
Who cares about what is socially acceptable
Never. make almost 70k a year in a third world Shithole (second world i guess since its post soviet), still go to concerts, still mosh, still listen to lots of different genres even Black and Core and whatever else.
Look wise, because work and shit
Out of enjoying to lisening it never.
Dont buy burzum shit man. everyone and their mom has a burzum shirt. no joke my mom has my burzum tshirt. Buy something else not mayhem tho thats also gay shit. Gorgoroth shirts are a dime a dozen i guess so thats also gay.
Try death doom. i promise its nothing like youve ever heard.
Paradise lost
Early katatonia
and
Swallow the sun
are all good places to start.
Not listening to Prog so you can experience Polyrhythms
I can't unbuy it user.
>no joke my mom has my burzum tshirt
bullshit
just listen to some lighter jams and bands. Queen, David Bowie, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc. Are all examples of artists who are able to go heavy yet still retain notoriety and are whimsical enough to have good lyrics.
>mfw I move from metal to deathgrips
>mfw I am also 32 with a kid
Why do so many Mexicans like metal?
Dude, same here. I'm more of a rock guy these days, but bands like Carcass are among the few metal bands I still listem to for pretty much the same reason.
Animals As Leaders is fucking boring garbage and the lead guitarist is a literal stupid nigger. lol Fuck them. Rest of those bands are alright though.
~23 years old, which i find embarrassing
god i wish i turned out to be as attractive as OPs pic after i cut my hair
She asked me to give her one of my shirts. burzum was getting a bit tight on me so i gave it to her.
Yeah but you could find some posuer and sell it to him. stop being a nigger user
Couple years ago. 21 now. Mostly listen to country music and 80s shit.
>Johnny Cash
>Waylon
>Willie
>Charlie Pride
>Ray Price
>Hank Williams
>Merle Haggard
Just some of what I listen to. People probably find it weird because I am a pajeet who lives in London.
BEST SECOND WAVE BAND IS MAYHEM
BLEED DOWN TO THE FUCKING CORE
YOU ARE GOING DOWN FOR FUCKING MORE
SCREW YOUR SLIMY GUTS
DRIVING ME FUCKING NUTS
All music is to be grown out of, or "for kids." Its all meant to tap into an overly emotional part of you that catches on most with teenagers. How many adukts do you see wearing ANY band shirts at all? Or being very passionate about ANY band? Adults deal with their emotions differently, so calling people who like metal children while being really into another genre of music is very hypocritical
The bottom one looks like he listens to classic vaporwave/future funk
>growing out of music
If you grow out of music, you probably didn't like it very much to begin with.
It's nu-metal
I like early metal like Steppenwolf or the Doors, Cream, or Deep Purple.
Mein guy
I have that patch on my battle jacket. Good fucking shit.
Start listening to metal
parsley
better than de misteris dom sathanas
Anybody?
One of my favorite thrash albums.
Nice. I don't think it's weird. I love me some Johnny cash.
i liked that stuff when i was a wee lad
also older sadus albums too
not an edgelord teenage anymore though
idk what happen, my brain change
To each their own. As long as my brain likes it I'll continue listening.
>grew out of metal
>grew into basedboy
wew lad, some people never learn
I don't like high-pitched shrieking vocals in thrash.
i like it but my favourite always will be sepultura
I feel like a lot of people who "grew" out of metal only liked it because of its image and edgy lyrics without actually truly enjoying the music.
I wear my Sabaton and Katatonia shirts on occasion.
Although, I prefer to wear something else because the people that wear Sabaton shirts look hella fucked.
I've basically only listened to one power metal band since 2016. My power levels are too high for me to quit now.
Though, I am considering cutting my hair shorter. It currently looks like the top picture in OP, though I've got a natural grey streak on the left side that makes me resemble Rogue from X-Men a little too much. Anyone got advice for good long-ish haircuts?
My friend also can't get into this album because of that. It never bothered me.
Sepultura is the shit.
I still listen to some metal, mostly local bands, and only when im at gigs
Here's a local band, calls LSD Mossel
Its actually Grindcore tho
youtu.be
Have fun
i lsitened to this album as a wee lad too
they arent same band anymore literally all different people under the same name 'sepultura'. how the fuck is that supposed to work?
They are split up in my mind. The band that remains is not sepultura.
Hey, my mom has one too!
Although, my parents stull put on their Burzum tapes regularly
>how the fuck is that supposed to work?
it does not
