Eggs

I eat 4 eggs everyday for breakfast (yolks included). I don't worry too much since I heard the anti egg/ yolk stuff was propaganda. But now once again it spurns like the consensus pendulum on eggs is once again shifting. So let's figure this out are the yolks full of good or bad cholesterol? I'm 6'4 at 194 lbs for reference. Am I safe at 4 eggs a day or am I wandering into a health trap?

Dietary cholesterol has no impact on your actual cholesterol level

You're fine cholesterolwise but you're walking into a nogains trap if you eat fewer than 8/day

I eat other protein too other than eggs

> i head anti egg/ yolk stuff was propaganda

Fuckin lol. The egg industry has been lying to people for decades literally funding studies about their product being safe, with the sole driver behind it being to maximise profit.

People have now exposed them and their studies and demonstrated why eggs are terrible for you, with no desire for profit behind them, yet are accused of "propaganda"

If anyone is spreading propaganda its the egg industry shilling their product. They're not legally even allowed to say it's healthy, they called it the "edible" egg.

Ditch your 4 eggs in the morning. Youre literally wasting your calories. What real benefits and antioxidants do you get out of eggs? None. Plus the amount of fat and cholesterol in that is absolutely retarded.
Eat some oatmeal with bananas, blueberries and raisins, and Chia seeds. Way better use of calories.

fuck off vegcuck

> am I wandering into a health trap?
Yes

heh

Kek

I'm not a vegan. Im on a majority plant based diet i eat chicken steak and fish here and there. But come on, eating eggs every fucking day is absolutely retarded.

Skinnier, leaner, and provably healthier.
Name one benefit of eating eggs besides "they taste good"

Fuckin lol. The onion industry has been lying to people for decades literally funding studies about their product being safe, with the sole driver behind it being to maximise profit.

They boost testosterone and they're a cheap complete protein without the higher cost of meat

This question is asked every day without failure

>let's figure this out are the yolks full of good or bad cholesterol?
The phrases "good" and "bad" cholesterol are used to refer to lipoproteins that transport cholesterol in your blood. LDL being bad, HDL being good. Dietary cholesterol is straight up cholesterol. Eating it may affect the cholesterol in your blood, mainly by raising LDL cholesterol, which is bad
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11333841

Is that a cancer patient?

Good, it's Jow Forums related and it's not in the sticky so it's a viable question. Way better discussion than all the dumb YouTube drama

Fuckin lol. The tendies industry has been lying to people for decades literally funding studies about their product being safe, with the sole driver behind it being to maximise profit.

>I'm okay with spam if it meets two requirements and is better than something else I don't like

A Jow Forums related thread that's not answered in the sticky isn't spam

If it's posted again on again it is, by definition, spam

No it's not. Spam is when the same person goes into a chat and posts the same thing again an again within minutes

That's not true

Wrong

Literal retards.

Only the dumbest of the dumb could buy an industrially produced item and think that the science against said item is the propaganda shilling a hidden agenda.

You've uncovered the conspiracy, retards. People don't want you to spend your money. Ignore the fact that anti-egg studies don't offer an alternative to egg intake and are strictly and explicitly anti-egg only. It's a secret plot against eggs.

I eat poultry but won't eat eggs or milk. Eggs are absolute garbage.

American Heart Association's publications on dietary cholesterol state outright that, for the overwhelming majority of the population, dietary cholesterol has very little impact on your heart health. If you're concerned, ask your doctor to get tested for dietary cholesterol sensitivity and they'll be glad to test you. If you're still paranoid, split your breakfast between eggs and egg whites - I suggest using two egg whites for every one full egg replaced.

You'll be fine, don't worry. With the volume of exercise you're likely doing, hopefully with a little supplemental cardio, cholesterol shouldn't be a concern for a while.

stay away from (((BIG OAT)))

>With the volume of exercise you're likely doing, hopefully with a little supplemental cardio, cholesterol shouldn't be a concern for a while

Maximal kek

uckin lol. The porn industry has been lying to people for decades literally funding studies about their product being safe, with the sole driver behind it being to maximise profit.

Fuck some braphogs with your dick, mouth, hand, and feet. Way better use of time

Vegans just make life harder on themselves, humans are made to eat meat and gains are way easier this way. Bodybuilders arent vegans ffs...

Listen, no one dies for eating eggs. All of the biggest guys in my gym eat over ten eggs per day and they are healthy as fuck.

It doesn't matter what the researches say. I am willing to bet your diet and routine up to now have been awful. You've probably been eating a bunch of industrialized food and you were sedentary. Now that is unhealthy. Eating eggs over industrialized food is a huge advancement no matter what others say. I'm just saying that a Jow Forums egg eater is much more healthy than whoever you were in the past, and also much better than these stupid vegetarians who rely on industrial supplements to literally not die.

Don't talk shit about my tendies.

I still eat eggs, about 8-10 a week. But I also understand the health implications of it. Yes it does have bodily benefits of eatin eggs, but it also has its negative effect on heart health/cholesterol health. 4 everyday is a bit much.

Eggs do raise blood cholesterol.. by a significant amount... stop reading egg propaganda.. I mean i do eat eggs.. but please read the real science

>American Heart Association's publications on dietary cholesterol state outright that, for the overwhelming majority of the population, dietary cholesterol has very little impact on your heart health.
Source?

huffingtonpost.com/nancy-brown/cholesterol-dietary-confu_b_7041098.html
Nancy Brown has been Chief Executive Officer of the American Heart Association (AHA) since 2009. The Association is widely known and highly respected as the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to preventing, treating and defeating cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

But when it comes to dietary cholesterol, context matters regarding how it might affect your blood levels of cholesterol (what we really care about). In many previous iterations of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans, it was recommended that dietary cholesterol intake be restricted to no more than 300 mg/day. This recommendation was based on substantial previous evidence that excessive dietary cholesterol intake, especially when accompanied by excess saturated fat, could contribute directly to elevating blood levels of bad (LDL) cholesterol, leading to heart disease. These data were obtained at a time when Americans on average were eating much more saturated fat in their diet, so extra amounts of dietary cholesterol in the diet were difficult for the liver to process, leading to higher levels in the blood.

So, what has changed?

Generally, Americans are eating somewhat less saturated fat than they did two decades ago (but still far too much). This means many of us can handle intake of foods higher in dietary cholesterol without affecting our blood levels of cholesterol. Eating a few egg yolks within a diet low in saturated fat may be fine. That’s not true for everyone though, so you should check with your doctor about whether or not it is safe to liberalize your intake of cholesterol-containing foods a bit.

I eat a hard boiled egg, sometimes two, with my lunch every day and I have become a laughingstock running joke among my coworkers for how many eggs I eat

One egg a day makes you a laughing stock? That's bizarre

That's not the AHA's recommendations, that's what the advisory committee of the USDA suggested back in 2009. Their suggestion wasn't taken by the USDA when the final guidelines were published.

yeah pretty much. its even worse because one of my coworkers brings her dog every day and she also gets hard boiled eggs from the kitchen for him so now i get compared to a dog

>CEO of the company and two "experts" on their nutrition committee
>not their recommendations

Attached: 1508846734948.jpg (559x670, 28K)

Pretty sure the AHA got sued for this lmfao. They were caught taking money from industry around the time they dropped the upper-limit RDI of cholesterol.

If that's the opinion of the organization, it should say so somewhere on their website

Eggs are bad but roids are fine.

Never change Jow Forums

ever.

Did he say that?

geeze user, are you euro?

No, but i never see as many naysayers in fraud general, but they are about half of egg threads, being naysayers.

By the sheer amount of morons saying eggs are bad, there should be more shitting up fraud general but there never are,

really activates my almonds.

nah im american. why do you think im euro?

it is just weird to bring dogs to work, unless they are service dogs or something.

no we work in a hospital he is basically like a comfort dog for patients while we work with them

but regardless yeah i get mocked for eating hard boiled eggs and also for eating bran cereal at breakfast daily

Fraud general is a thread made specifically for the roiders, not to debate whether roids are good or not retard.

Yea it is kinda of common, strangely enough for hospital workers to have little to no understanding of nutrition. You are golden man, ignore your co-workers.

You should be fine unless you're a hyper-responder to cholesterol or have some condition already. I found these on the front page of google:
berkeleywellness.com/self-care/preventive-care/article/are-eggs-bad-your-heart

Eggs definitely CAN antioxidants. See:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4632414/
You'll be getting less protein with muh vegan oatmeal and chia seeds (which admittedly do contain good mineral/micronutrient macros, although the ALA is useless)

I'd stick with the eggs OP, just check with a doctor if you're that concerned

You are the retard for thinking eggs are bad,

Go suck some s o y protein isolate.

This is egg general faggot, get out S O Y B O I

>Q. Does eating eggs really increase your risk of a heart attack?
>A. From what we know today, here's the bottom line: for most people, an egg a day does not increase your risk of a heart attack, a stroke, or any other type of cardiovascular disease. No more than three eggs per week is wise if you have diabetes, are at high risk for heart disease from other causes (such as smoking), or already have heart disease.
This doesn't paint eggs as a healthy food

Every time

I eat almost 5 eggs every few weeks.
And would routinely eat up to 3 a day along with sharp chedder and cook it all in either butter or lard.
My total cholesterol is barely 100.

>Eggs definitely CAN antioxidants. See:
>This review was funded by grants from Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC), Alberta Egg Producers (AEP)... Burnbrae Farms Limited, Poultry Industry Council

Every fucking time

Grow up eating eggs,

Eat 3 a day everyday,

Move to 8 a day daily

By all of this logic, Should i not be dead? Or fat? Or something?

it really seems like people who say eggs are bad have no clue what they are speaking of.

Diabetics can't eat certain fruits or yogurts. Does that mean that a healthy person would have a problem with them? No. Similarly, most people will never have a problem because of eggs, hence why I told OP they shouldn't be concerned unless they have some kind of preexisting condition.

half of fitizens think bananas and fruits are bad anyway, because half of fit is fat asses and dyel twinks.

And? She's a paid shill for the rest of her life? She cited several valid studies in the article. Show some to support your perspective.
This addresses none of the arguments or the very persuasive points made in the review. Funding has to come from somewhere, YES even for reviews.

Please, link some studies supporting your argument and I'll happily look at those -- I'm open to having my mind changed but I've yet to see any convincing arguments from the anti-egg camp

The anti-egg camp is just twinks and fatties, do not worry, it is also meme moms. I think everyone has a meme diet mom, and it is why we suffer.

I have eaten 4+ eggs daily, some days more for past 2 years and m cholesterol has never been on the bad side.

>And? She's a paid shill for the rest of her life?
Being paid to shill a product makes you a shill, yes.
Her article starts off with the outdated USDA guidelines committee report that never became accepted despite every majjor media outlet jumping the gun over it, then cites a study where "up to 1 egg a day" wasn't associated with heart disease in a survey-based Finnish study, then goes back to the USDA guidelines committee. It's a trash article she was paid to write that has no real information in it other than "eat eggs"

Get off my board you incel dyel faggot

What fruits can't diabetics eat?

Apples, Bananas, anything with a good amount of natural sugar, Diabetics are biological failures.

Source?

How diabetes works? they can not eat alot of sugar. It is just how it is.

Essentially they can not eat more than 1 cup of fruit.

Dietary cholesterol seldom changes blood cholesterol as it is not soluble at all in water. Free triglycerides are a much bigger factor as they are used to manufacture the lipoproteins to transfer cholesterol. Saturated fats (mostly palmitic acid that are found on fatty meats) tend to form VLDL and LDL whereas unsaturated fats tend to form HDL, particularly oleic acid (the largest source of dietary monounsaturated fatty acids). Eggs have a moderate amount of saturated fats, but it's still mostly monounsaturated, so it's safe to eat as long as you're not chugging the stuff, or cooking it in pats of butter and bacon grease like actually retarded ketofags. That being said, ketogenic diets in DEFICIT lowers triglycerides significantly, although all diets do so to a slightly lesser extent. On maintenance or excess I would simply cut back on saturated fats and excess sugar/refined carb consumption.

On behalf of the American Heart Association (AHA), including the American Stroke Association, and more than 22 million volunteers and supporters,

Dietary Cholesterol
Previous versions of the Dietary Guidelines have recommended that cholesterol intake be limited to no more than 300mg per day. The 2015 Advisory Committee, however, has decided not to bring forward this recommendation. AHA supports the Committee’s decision.

As the Committee notes in the Scientific Report, AHA and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) issued guidelines on lifestyle management in 2013 that concluded that scientific evidence does not support limiting dietary cholesterol to lower artery clogging LDL‐cholesterol in the blood.3 AHA and ACC reached this conclusion after an extensive expert review of peer‐reviewed, published scientific studies.

Fair enough, you clearly are familiar with this author/article so I won't argue with you over that. I'm not going to resort to ad hominems like the other poster, but can you actually provide some evidence for why eggs are harmful for you? No one has responded to this poster yet : and there were some great studies linked there that dispute the link between egg consumption and risk for heart disease, such as:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16340654
The only arguments against eggs I've seen in this thread is industry fearmongering and allusions to the "studies," besides this poster:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11333841
whose link literally begins with
>Several epidemiologic studies found no effect of egg consumption on the risk of coronary heart disease. It is possible that the adverse effect of eggs on LDL-cholesterol is offset by their favorable effect on HDL cholesterol.
The only argument in that link is
>Dietary cholesterol raises the ratio of total to HDL cholesterol and, therefore, adversely affects the cholesterol profile. The advice to limit cholesterol intake by reducing consumption of eggs and other cholesterol-rich foods may therefore still be valid.
which is not very convincing

OP here, not the guy saying that diabetics can't eat apples and bananas. Note that in my post I said that diabetics can't eat CERTAIN fruits. According to diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/what-can-i-eat/understanding-carbohydrates/glycemic-index-and-diabetes.html?loc=ff-slabnav, melons and pineapple are classified as a high GI food, not recommended for diabetics unless eaten with low GI foods or after exercise.

I was just making the argument that foods that are harmful to some (eg certain fruit for certain diabetics) are not necessarily harmful for others (the fact that people with heart disease or diabetes should not eat more than 3 eggs per week doesn't mean that the rest of us shouldn't.)

My sides

>It will be important, however, for the Dietary Guidelines to explain that the removal of the cholesterol recommendation does not provide a “green light” to eat large amounts of dietary cholesterol.

That guy posts the same low-quality links in every thread and has been refuted many times.
>great studies linked there that dispute the link between egg consumption and risk for heart disease, such as:
A review paper in a no-name journal, authored by a woman who has taken around a quarter million dollars from the egg industry.

As for the anti-egg link
>Several epidemiologic studies found no effect of egg consumption on the risk of coronary heart disease.
In epidemiology, there are studies for and against everything. This is due to the nature of the study design and how difficult it can be to measure things accurately and separate variables. This is why this study was made, which looks at a marker of heart disease risk directly, as the effect of dietary cholesterol on LDL and total cholesterol. Eggs raise LDL cholesterol disproportionately to HDL cholesterol, increasing heart disease risk. If you're at all familiar with this kind of research, it should be somewhat convincing to you.

You sound like an incel dyel faggot.

I eat like 4-12 eggs a day. I've been doing this for 8+ months and ive had some tremendous gains.

beware of big egg propaganda.

Read The Cholesterol Myth
Dietary cholesterol is good for you when it isn't oxidized in some food process.
Eggs are one of the most perfect foods if you get natural ones. They are best consumed raw.

>he fell for the whole foods plant based bullshit
Opinion discarded

Raw egg whites naturally kelate heavy metals

There is no "good" or "bad" cholesterol
One transports shit to sites of need and the other goes the other way
They even had to make up a new category, HLDL, to continue this bullshit that dietary cholesterol is bad for you so they can sell more crisco and margarine and call cereal heart healthy

>eggs
>industrially produced
Literally wut
>then buys into all the bullshit science used to sell processed vegetable products
The diet heart hypothesis is a fraud bruh

AHA is a tool for general mills to call their grains heart healthy
