I haven't made a friend on the internet since the days of old-school forums and AIM. I'm somehow worse at internet socialization than I am at real life. A lot of that is probably because Jow Forums is the only "social" site I really go to and I'm not cool with handing out contact info here, though.

Same here. There was even a time I was somewhat popular on some old school forums and chats but I just can't socially navigate the modern internet. Discord seems to be too chaotic and lacks that cozy personal feel. I've handed out my discord and steam contact info a few times on Jow Forums but no one follows up or they quickly ghost me. I'd love to have someone to talk to on the regular.

Not on discord. I did become friends with a guy from Jow Forums; we bonded over playing TERA, other videogames and watching anime together and kept at it for almost 3 years. I still miss him, I wish I didn't take those comfy years for granted.
